The Fire is a high energy pure-drop Scottish music band, with world class fiddling in combination with bagpipes, guitar, bodhran, whistle, and bouzouki. The group includes, International Scottish Fiddle Champion Rebecca Lomnicky, multi-instrumentalist David Brewer of the popular Celtic band Molly’s Revenge, and Adam Hendey on guitar and bouzouki. On August 14th, The Fire will release their new 14 track album, Radiance. The collection of tunes on Radiance draws from a variety of Scottish fiddle manuscripts, bagpipe music collections, and the pen of all three band members. Over the last year they have compiled, arranged, and recorded dozens of tunes which range from a scotch-measure published in the first collection of Scottish fiddle tunes in 1700, to a bagpipe anthem, to a medley of contemporary original tunes. We have seen The Fire several times, including today at the Portland Highland Games and I have to thank the band for letting us know to search out this video. Spectacular scenery.......and music!
All I can say is wow. Rare to find this level of musicianship coupled with passion and so much energy. This band can really put on a show and will leave you wanting more. The stories they tell with their music is only matched by their love of the music itself. Can’t wait to see them again.

OK, as a bag piper, I want to know how you get the extra note on your chanter. Is there a special chanter with some kind of key that gives you that extra high note on your upper hand?
I think ye might find the extra note is from the fine fiddle player. Glad to help
