They had a few bases up here during that time too, Stranraer being one of them. So they knew the land and the resources we were trading and I guess they thought fuck it whats the need for another enemy just to capture a shit hole lol. Risk reward weighing up kinda thing. More years later I think its widely believed the 9th legion haspania? something like that. but that usually the 2nd legion most folk think were done in were actually bred out according to the best theory anyway. The not so much the romans but more the auxilia who were actually from syria met local women and lived happily ever after as far as we know. But the few roman discoveries in the south ie England dont really show battle damage they show disrepair then people stealing the bricks and what not to make new shit. so some wealthy Romans did stay on here but others would have left hoping their service to Rome would make for promotions but at that time I believe that Romes days were numbered or atleast the writting was on the wall.

Luke Kilroy, a lot of people in the purely Celtic part of Britain don’t consider us English Celtic for ancient, bitter reasons but in fact on average our DNA is nearly three quarters Celtic among our whole population within the borders of England. The rest is Germanic/Scandinavian. Even my own DNA test says as much.
Being of mostly Irish descent while having traveled all throughout Scotland & Ireland I can feel the sheer amazing power, poignancy & passion of this mighty tune at such deeply primal depths & to such a fearsome degree that I feel instantly & viscerally transmogrified when listening to it, as it makes me feel wonderfully elevated with this glorious exaltation while bringing me back centuries to a misty, violent & heroic past, one that I can still feel keenly & which calls to me with a beckoning insistence, that wild, blood roiling, battle scarred past made more vigorously immediate & sublimely palpable via this mesmerizing masterpiece, one that inspires endlessly. Love it! Thus has that ancient Celtic warrior within been ferociously stirred & awakened, pulsing powerfully forth while rising inexorably, to such a degree that now I feel as my fiercely warlike ancestors once did, as inspired, proud & formidably prepared, with adrenaline pumping as my blood churns, primevally motivated as I am, out to prove my worth, mettle & combat prowess not only to my clan & people yet to those not to be born for centuries, seeking the approval of posterity as much as from those whom I'll be fighting & dying for. That's how this music makes me feel, at one with a past steeped in battlefield glory, spectacular swordsmanship & honorable death. That is the power of music, & this timeless, atavistically moving, transcendent tune!

+Koishi Komeiji America is too big to give up after one nuke. And if the capital fell, that doesn't mean that very many of the states would go with it. I can bet you almost with certainty that at least a quarter (definitely including Texas and probably most of the south) of the states would not surrender with the rest of the country. And that's all of the main government ever surrendered in the first place. The US would likely take more than 2 or 3 nukes before giving in. I guess you could say we are... patriotic.
"Thousand upon thousand they came. Yet I held my ground sword in hand. Even as my comrades all lay dying around me, I still held my ground, only giving ground when I absolutely had to and making sure that for every meter of ground I gave, the enemy gave 6 lives in turn of their best men. For I was the King of The Highlands and none could stand against me. Decades of training in ways that were akin to a Greek Spartan had taught me every facet and trick in the book of war and fighting. Not one man would nor could bring me down. As the battle ground down, the enemy finally retreated and I collapsed. I awoke later in a bed and not a day later, I was made the true and just King of The Highlands." -Coleman The Great of the Highlands.
Is it just me or does epic music like this leave inspired ready to conquer anything? Whether it be running through the Highlands, climbing the himalayas, trekking through the depths of the black forest or retracing the steps of the fellowship in New Zealand

I'm Scottish and the only time I truly feel Scottish is when I hear drums, bagpipes and fife. Music like this awakens something within you. Some songs fire up my blood and pump me up for battle, even though I don't like violence. Other music is soothing and interestingly enough.. much of this music can be traced back to the days of Paganism and music like this sure does make you feel more connected to nature.
I love you and your music so much!!! Thank you for doing what you do. You've saved me and so many others from depression and losing our minds in this depressing world. Thank you Adrian and no words can ever explain how much your music means to me. ❤❤❤❤
I don't know much about Celtic culture thus the music cannot make me think of anything Celtic. But what I do know is that the bagpipes, the tin whistles and violins all have certain magic in them. A piece made though these instruments takes me onto an adventure in a fantasy world (one with dragons, phoenixes, and magic). The next time I see the word "Celtic" I will think of the adventures I went through in these awesome pieces.
StopMinecraftVIOLENCE It wasn't ironic. There's NOTHING wrong with liking your own comment, you do NOT have the right to dictate what people should do or not.
I feel like a mountain emerges right below my feet with an invisible kingdom of dreams appearing out of nowhere offering sanctuary for every persecuted being and an unrestricted access to resources and knowledge to collaborate and build up an equal counterforce leading to reconciliation and a state of equilibrium which ultimately gets celebrated peacefully as the successful defiance of imminent destruction and protection of individual freedom. Have i gone crazy or just hit by a massive bolt of creativity bursting in my brain? Lovely how music evokes such imagination bringing the listener in a world where limitations fall beneath possibilities.
HEROES,, To you who all souls and spirits converge, to you who is the being, to you who is the ultimate power, to you who knows all,, send my deepest sorrow and respect to those whom i took their lives in the battlefields and carry my old tears to those brothers in arms, that we left behind for wild dogs to eat them alive, through their soft stomachs and let them know that"" THERE ARE HEROES ON BOTH SIDES"" and those of us who still alive, carry the burden on our shoulders till our souls and spirits meet again. And you may ask why?? well,,, because that's how we were in the old days, and that's why i am an old SOLDIER.

Jorge Martinez England F’d with Scotland centuries ago and Scotland has belonged to them ever since. They are a conquered people and have been so for hundreds of years. They serve in the English military, play the pipes for the Queen, and pay taxes to the U.K.
@@prepperjonpnw6482 Yes it's not like the UK only became a thing almost 400 years after the Wars of Independence which the Scots won. Nah nah the Scots are a conquered people as you say, it's not like the King of England during the creation of the UK was inherently Scottish.
@@prepperjonpnw6482 NO. The King of Scotland became the King of England after England had no successor to the throne which united both countries under 1 SCOTTISH Catholic monarchy, after 100 years of direct SCOTTISH Catholic Dictatorship Monarchy rule, it proved unpopular throughout Protestant Great Britain, many Scots & English, who happened to be majority protestant, ousted the Catholic Monarchy and a new Protestant Monarchy which was less authoritarian came in and dissolved the dictatorship and created a democratic parliament, which resulted in the Kingdom of Great Britain being formed and the formation of the British flag, which is a combination of the England & Scotland flag. KNOW YOUR HISTORY FUCKFACE. It's the British Army not the English Army, many gallant Scots have led the British army like Field Marshal Douglass Haig who was the most senior officer & soldier of British imperial forces in WW1. Glasgow city square is littered in statuettes of famous Scottish Generals and Field Marshall's of the British empire. Scotland is part of the UK so paying taxes is no problem because taxes pays the roads, free education, free hospital, etc. Many leading figures in UK politics, TV, media, etc are Scots. The famous Tony Blair who waged war on Iraq is Scottish, so was his successor Gordon Brown. There was a point in the UK were the country was controlled by a "Tartan Mafia" because all senior positions of UK government and military were filled by Scots. You're retarded The Scottish Wars of independence was 400 years before Act of Union in 1707, but is remember greatly by Scots as it was pivotal in keeping Scotland .. Scotland.
I always wondered why I always take a handle like the one I have here, which I have had for more than 30 years. And most of my other things I use always have "celtic" or such in it. Maybe because I am Scottish/Irish? Don't know, but when I was a very young girl, around 4 or 5-years-old, I use to dream of a time long ago in a ruined castle listening to people speak Gaelic. I asked one of the ladies what language we were speaking and she replied, "Gaelic". Of course I didn't know what that word even meant until I got a lot older. Strange how things come about to you in dreams. I lived on a small ranch with no outside influence because we had limited television then in the 60s, so I don't know what I can contribute those dreams to. I remember it so vividly and the castle and always wanted to go in search of it. Maybe some day.
Interesting story! Do you speak Gaelic now?! I think you'd enjoy some of my music on my channel! Let me know what you think when you get some time:) Sam
I have Celtic blood in my veins and any form of Celtic music makes it stir it makes me feel that rush, every song tells a story. Every song I feel that Celtic pride in me. and by the gods I'm proud to have such heritage and roots.
Played this song while gardening today. Instinctively and accidentally ripped my ficus tree from the ground and hoisted it above my head like a battle axe. The rose bushes surrendered immediately.
I am Scottish and Native Cherokee . I feel connected to both of my heritage’s . And music like this makes me feel exactly how everyone else here is saying . Just something about it . Proud to be a Scottish/ Native
I'm of Irish (Viking) and German descent. Although I am very proud of my heritage, there is something about Celtic music and bagpipes that reaches deep into my very soul.
Funny story I first heard this song while playing Europa Universalis IV with the "Even more music mod is back" which as the name implies adds a great many more songs to the already large soundtrack, anyway when it got to 3:35-3:42. I thought one my armies had gotten into a fight somewhere and began desperately panning the map to see where it had happened. Only to realize I was not at war and it was just part of the song.... go figure.
I'm Italian, but when I listen to Scottish music I feel Scottish too. I don't know why, but it awakens something in me. It is magic. I was fascinated by it since I was a child.
A lone man stands in front of the army he commands, their enemy far outnumber them "Men, we shall not give up! We are the only ones who will stand before these bastards!" Their enemy begin to charge at them "Do not relent my soldiers! Remember your training!" A soldier speaks "What training?" The man grins as he pulls out his weapon "SPEED IS KEY!"
I dont know why but this kind of music and cold landscapes gives me strong goose bumps, even i'm not an scottish or irish, i am latin (Portuguese/ Brazilian blood).
I love the highland music. I think it is in my blood. I found that my 3x great-grandfather, Robert Densmore Laird Sr, was a highlander so that must be where my love for the highlands and this music always came from. We really must have DNA recollection because you really do know and feel things that are familiar without even knowing those things- places or people.
That was a really amazing experience! Intricate melodies and dynamics, visually stunning and one of the best pieces of Celtic music I've ever heard. Bravo!
This music just makes me want to wake up my inner scotsman. And by that i mean buy a kilt, some bagpipes, steel a claymore sword and go on a rampage screaming in a scottish accent.

Great, innit?

@@jamieluke8386 That would be because I know know very little about Welsh history. I am not going to try learn the man something I simply do not know. Why not teach us instead us instead melting down over it? And wheres your offence I never mentioned Ireland?
This song dosent just represent Scotland it represents all of the celts, Scotland,Ireland, Isle of Man, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany.
Luke Kilroy I have family from Scotland 🏴 Wales and Ireland myself as in history
Scotland isn’t even just celts, there were Britons, Scots, Norse, and (in the area I’m from) Picts. Celts were originally Germanic people anyway
If anyone’s at all interested, Pictish music has a much more raw almost caveman like sound to it, search for waulking songs on TH-cam to hear, it was mostly sung while women worked their chores
I’m Latino with 0 Scottish or whatever heritage, but this song makes me wanna take an axe and a shield and rush into an ancient battlefield.
My Scottish and irish blood are pumping in my viens, FREEDOM!!!!
I have lived in 7 Nations...of all the men I encountered...the Scottish were the most Fierce....
My wife is Scottish, and I wholeheartedly agree with your statement. Please don't tell her that. lol.

I guess you could say we are... patriotic.
+Vaas Montenegro right that tells you the knowledge of this lot
"May we strike first, but die last, as king of the highland, I'll fight with you, until last breath we stand"
I awoke later in a bed and not a day later, I was made the true and just King of The Highlands."

Yunpei Yang Well the Celts practiced a lot of magic and believed in those types of things so technically you are thinking of a bit of celtic culture.

You're retarded
The Scottish Wars of independence was 400 years before Act of Union in 1707, but is remember greatly by Scots as it was pivotal in keeping Scotland ..

Let me know what you think when you get some time:)
