    Well done for testing a lower spec model! Let's face it, a majority of people will be looking at best value, yet most auto journalists only ever show us the top spec models, and we rarely get a taste of the spec average people would most likely be looking at. Please do this more often!

    Renault have done really well to update the best designed supermini on the market that made it the 2nd best selling car in Europe despite the previous model having mediocre ability & poor interior. Inside is now a vast improvement in style & quality matching the VW Polo but with better ride & comfort , the Clio is also runner up in its class , after the Fiesta , for handling & driving dynamics along with very competitive prices. The Captur , which is based off the Clio has greatly improved too & will no doubt become the best selling small suv in Europe again !.

      I've driven the 1.3 and got to say it's bloody good!

      Don't forget the ETECH model which comes with a 1.6 litre 4 cylinder engine and 2 electric motors and gives 140 BHP and an equivalent of 64MPG.

    I bought the previous shape Clio - the I-Music edition. And then a month later, they brought out this new shape - I was gutted! 😮

    Where I’m from, there’s now a 65 horsepower engine. Weird, because the lowest powered engine used to have 75. We still get the 75 engine, and it’s only €200 more than the base engine.

    Still moving the gear shifter when you accelerate. And that trunk button down to the license plate is original

    If this is supermini then Twingo is supermicro?

    My Honda Jazz has a 6 speed gearbox and it's a pain. Going from 6th to 5 you inevitably end up in third. Trying to go into reverse and you end up in 6th!

    I may be wrong but I can foresee opportunist thieves thinking the display is portable and smashing the windows to get try and get it.

    BUYER BEWARE DO NOT BUY THE HYBRID VERSION. I bought one in 2022 expecting for a high mpg after reading Renault's blurb i.e. travelling 80% on electric and driving as long as possible on electric, yes that is total BS. The first few months it appeared to be okay however when the temp drops and you need to use the heating fan the ICE will work nearly continuously you will loose at least 19mpg, at first I thought the car had a fault and returned it to my local dealer, they clearly knew the problem before I turned up because they had a mechanic waiting to speak to me he explained that even the EV battery was fully charged if the electrical load i.e. your fan is on it won't switch to the EV mode until the engine is fully warmed up, so local short trips will just use the ICE, so to get around this I switch the fan off until the windscreen mists up to use the EV mode. I am currently in dispute with Renault after learning other makes of cars don't suffer from this problem.

    What irks me a bit on these reviews is that the compare your Clios with your Fiestas and your Polos and vice versa,.. but treat the Zoe as some other kind of animal, as if it's some other kind of creature only ever to be compared with other Electric Cars and never cross shopped with other Super Minis.
    But it has a bigger boot than the Clio, more horsepower, faster to 60, way way faster to 30, more refined, waaay cheaper to run and has a better basic spec.
    Of the two stablemates, the Zoe is by far the better car.
    Journos need to start treating electrics as Just Another Option. They will be the only option in a few years.
    Just a thought.

      You can't compare an electric car with a petrol car.

      How many houses lack a garage, or a driveway? The answer is millions, how many terraced houses are there in the UK? Millions. Please tell me how we are supposed to plug in our ZOE? If you cannot plug in a ZOE or indeed any other plug in hybrid then they are useless to you. That is why the all new Clio Hybrid is the perfect car, as it charges itself and you don't plug it in.

    Should of made the boot smaller for more legroom in the rear for adult passengers. Not the other way round. Doh!

    • @jetpigeon8758
      @jetpigeon8758 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends if there are only 2 of you then you would rarely use the rear seat, so a bigger boot is ideal. Doh!

    I don't think Ford Fiesta is as good as these UK based reviewers make it out to be. Since I've been watching these super mini reviews, it is nothing but a cliche.
    Edit: in Europe, there is no such option as a one-liter engine. Perhaps the Clios sold in the UK have different engine sizes.

    They no longer give you the glass panoramic roof as an option, which is a travesty! Especially as it floods necessary light into the relatively claustrophobic interior. Also they only give 75-100 bhp power plants, which is still somewhat sluggish!
    The exterior design is rather boring and I prefer it’s predecessor, which is much more sleek and sexier.

    • @Mr.-Wint
      @Mr.-Wint 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tend to agree with you in many of the aspects, - no panoramic roof nor a stationcar version makes me the more happier with my sleek panoramic 4th generation !

      Panoramic sunroofs add to the weight so affect emissions. All manufacturers now face fines on higher emissions, as per cafe charges.

      The HYBRID ETECH model has the digital dash as standard and comes with the 6 speed automatic gearbox, and delivers 64MPG and 140 BHP.

    The MK4 had awful interior quality. It had the worst infotainment on the market, and it’s speakers were dreadful. Source? I owned one. It was, however, incredible on fuel.

    These little damp country lanes Britain loves so much. British roads need modernising. Why don't they just build straight wider, SAFER roads. Restart building again! They look ridiculous in 2021, only in Britain. Europe have left Britain's roads behind in the dark. Evan Cyprus roads, EU member, are much wider, straighter and moderner. You just don't want to drive in these narrow country lanes. They look crap in my opinion. Might as well just buy an old banger living there. It would look more at home.🤨
    But great review.😏

    • @jetpigeon8758
      @jetpigeon8758 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are old country lanes, France has them, Italy has them, Spain has them. To straighten all these old lanes and widen them would not only cost a fortune, but don't you think the owners of the land on either side of the road might have something to say on the matter? Stupid comment.

    A step backwards in every respect. This could prove a very expensive mistake for Renault
