The Half-Breeds are people whose parents consist of one Purebred and one Muggle, a Purebred and a Half-Breed, or a Half-Breed and a Half-Breed. "But I thought Purebreds don't procreate with the other races" you say. I said "usually" so it can happen in rare cases(extremely rare when it comes to Muggles). Half-Breeds are the middle class of society and get instruments with decent quality. They are usually envious of the Purebreds and look down on Muggles. They only procreate with each other and occasionally Purebreds. Never Muggles. Muggles are the people who have no musical Bach-ground. They are the lowest of the low in society. They get elementary school quality instruments. Muggles usually never go to a musical school. They are looked down upon the most in society and can only procreate with each other. The most famous Muggle is Hermione Ford Ranger who had a whole Liszt of instruments that she could play. Sorry but you say "purebred" made my imagination go haywire.

@@zacharyhechler Actually, there's folk metal, symphonic metal, pirate metal, sometimes gothic or even glam metal songs where violins have been put to very effective use.
@@TheCarlosCobain you are right about that. But it’s not the main instrument. I am kinda bias as a guitar player but I personally think guitar is the best instrument
@@zacharyhechler Piano is objectively the best instrument, and I say that as a guitarist who plays piano as secondary instrument. You can play rhythm and lead with both hands at the same time, and you can also play every genre (Metal has plenty of bands with keyboards, e.g. Dream Theater, Opeth, Symphony X etc.). Heck, synthesizers enable you to literally sound like anything (even dogs, chickens or farts). Also, the piano sounds good by itself no matter what, while the guitar only sounds good by itself in certain genres like Flamenco, Classical or Funk (for Rock and Metal, you need drums and bass). But I still slightly prefer playing guitar, because I love doing stuff like like tapping, sweep picking or dive bombs (so much fun, my tremolo bar always gets abused by me lol).
I'm an Instrumental Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar player and I had the same reaction as Twoset when I heard "ELECTRIC guitar" listed as #1. It reinforces the dumb misconception that if you don't play Electric, you're not a real guitarist. So cliche.
Lmao, but it's easier to fool people that you know how to play decently on electric. I played for 3 years on guitar, until I got hand problems because I practiced too much.. I started out about one year with electric, and it didn't take long for me to get good at power chords and small solos. When you get your power chords down and know a few scales, the distortion will definitely be in your favor if you mess up a little here and there. And it's just so easy to make a sound that sounds "cool" or "bad-ass" and that people will think "wow, that's sick man". Then I went for acoustic (classical) for the last two years, and boy... A whole different world. You actually had to be good to sound good, and just a tiny mistake can ruin the sound of the piece you're playing. There's so much to it, and bringing out a good sound, even if you're playing a simple piece, is easier said than done.. I'm not saying electric guitar can't be cool or challenging, but there are major differences between electric and acoustic guitars. Acoustic, in my opinion, is harder to get good at and sound good. Those easy power chords you play on the electric? Nope, they don't sound so good without distortion anymore. You need more actual harmony. And don't even get me started on classical acoustic, fingerstyle, etc.
@@ORCINUS yes, kind of. Generally speaking, acoustics are fitted with higher gauge strings than electric guitars, which means the strings are thicker and can be harder to press down. But you can go higher or lower gauge with either instrument.
@@ORCINUS For some context, I'm a classically trained guitarist who later went on to play primarily electric guitar (mostly blues and jazz but now I'm interested in RnB and neo-soul thanks to various Korean guitarists and Mateus Asato). To add on to what Anton was saying, classical (aka nylon-string) and especially acoustic guitars generally have higher actions ("action" refers to the distance between the strings and the fretboard). Also, you can also change the tension of the strings (low, medium, and high-tension are the common three types), which affects how easily they can be plucked and the tone. In addition, in my experience, electric guitars typically have more narrow fretboards, meaning that the stringers are closer together--for most people that makes it easier unless you have larger hands. However, in defense of electric guitars, you can still play fingerstyle on electric guitars; most modern and contemporary jazz guitarists use electric jazz guitars, after all, gypsy jazz guitarists being a notable exception. And electric guitar strings are the same what you'd find on acoustic (steel)--the action and gauge is what usually makes them easier to pluck. And the main selling point of electric guitars imho is their versatility. There's simply way more that you can do with them because they're electric. That said, I would agree with Nizzle that it's more difficult to sound "good" on an acoustic guitar, either steel- or nylon-string.
@@ORCINUS there's this common misconception that classical/acoustic is "harder" to master. Thing is, you can be good at acoustic, and suck at electric, or vice versa, they're different instruments with different techniques, or you can be good at both. What may work on a classical guitar might not work on electric, also, you have to worry about muting strings way more on electric. Yeah, it is harder to press strings on acoustic, but it shouldn't be TOO hard, unless your guitar is with too much of a high action. Anyway, none is "harder" than the other, they have very different difficulties, i enjoy playing both, knowing basic fingerstyle on acoustic. Another misconception is thinking you can be more "sloppy" on electric, this is simply not true, a good trained ear can detect sloppiness on electric guitar, as long as you're not using some kind of beehive distortion, then it'll sound bad regardless if you're clean or not lol. So yeah, it all depends on what your goal is, do you wanna study classical? Find a good teacher, wanna be good at electric? Find a good teacher too. That's all there is to it.
I just started learning guitar and I feel insulted too. :D I didn't choose it because I felt it's cool but because the music I like is based on it + I just like the damn sound...
Having transitioned from classical performance to electroacoustic production, I condone synthesizer being on the list - it can sound like anything, and a hardware modular synth is like playing the space shuttle
6:05 I love eddy’s look of disgust when they ranked the bass higher than the violin lol Also the music that ends this video is from the overture of Mozart’s The Magic Flute.
A J Chandra he won’t but he always knows when to stop but twoset doesn’t Twosetviolin sparks up wars and triggers every other musicians about their instruments
The “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John part that was shown had two chords (pathetic). However, in the entirety of the song, there are a total of 25 unique chords. That should be given much more credit than the 1-4 chords songs that are mass-produced today.
I mean, it's not like you _have_ to have a lot of chords for a song to be good. Fewer chords don't automatically make a song bad, just as more chords don't automatically make one good. It's all about what you do with them. A lot of Beatles songs have very few chords, are The Beatles pathetic?
I love how for bass guitar they show Brian May's face he is the guitarist and Roger Taylor's face the drummer just anyone that's not John Deacon the actual bass guitarist 🤣🤣🤣

Apocalyptica is truly amazing. They are classically trained cellists, I'm pretty sure they played all those cello concerti during their career. Is there a TwoSet Cello channel or similar? I'm sure a cellist channel will discuss them in detail.
Yeah, electric instruments usually have metal bits, and metal is a better conductor of heat than wood, so it will gain heat from our hand faster, thus it is cooler than wooden instruments
The first violin shown is a fiddle. Not only that, it's an imperfect rendering of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." Then they show Butter Lettuce's off-key rendition from "that" show. Absolutely sacrilegious.

You are correct that the piece was based on Bach's cello suite, but the youtube video that was played is actually titled "the cello song". It isn't quite the suite, evidence in the fact that he uses 8 (I think?) cellos, one which is used for percussive parts. I think you might be getting pissed at the wrong thing, friend
I think what gets me so riled up about this isn't the instruments on the list or their ordering (after all, if some random person released a video with the exact same ordering, I wouldn't care so much), but that dumbmojo is, at their heart, a corporation. This isn't some person's list of what they think are the top ten coolest instruments. This is a corporation that looked at what everyone thinks is cool, possibly even fucking *focus tested* their list, then came up with half-assed justifications for each instrument. It's a corporation trying their hardest to seem hip and cool but being so. fucking. easy to see though. It is a list with no soul.

Hello! I just wanted to thank you guys so much for inspiring me to learn to play the violin and even go for my dreams. I have always wanted to play the violin since I was little, but I always thought it was this majestic instrument that’s hard to find or something. (I was really young at the time). Now, at the age of 19, I was finally able to get a violin and I have been able to progress faster than I thought. I really can’t thank you guys enough 🙏🏽 It’s really a way to destress from my life. And not only that, you guys have even inspired me to become a new TH-camr with my little brother. I remember watching you guys from the very beginning and seeing you guys grow. Such an inspiration. Thank you for everything.
Serena Lizinnqui Same! Even if it’s not 100 percent perfect it’s still really nice to be able to play the things you like and even practice can be fun. At first practice was hard cuz I wasn’t really good, but it feels really good when you see how much you have improved
Elton John was actually classically trained and is proud of it, you can kinda hear it in some of his songs. If DumbMojo wanted to choose a non-classical song, they could have chosen any other clip where Elton John doesn't play two fricking chords...
pfff analog synthesizers are amazing. If they were exclusively talking DAWs and VSTs then sure that's kinda weak for the list, but having an analog or even analog/digital hybrid set up of keyboards, synths, drum machines, etc. especially if you're modular/eurorack... that shit is super cool. I love acoustic and classic instruments just as much. As you say, they have their place!
But the thing is, it really can be a great instrument but just as rock people think all classical is just Bach or Mozart or those two Beethoven symphony excerpts (5 and finale of 9), and that what makes classical violin playing special is how fast they can play how many high notes... so, too, that is exactly how classical musicians view rock guitar, thinking only of Metallica as an example of supposedly the best that electric guitar has to offer, and punk as the standard for everything else. People might think differently about classical if their entry was through Sibelius’s Symphony No. 7, and differently about rock guitar if their introduction was through Steve Hackett, for instance.
@@matthewv789 @Matthew Vaughan i agree with this to a certain extent, i am a classically trained musician (piano gaaang) but i also play the electric guitar and other electric instruments goes well with music prod and such. This is a why i take offense when you said that classical musician only view the electric guitar as metallica's playing and because people learn. Even two set was put in their place with the recorder gang. In all fairness, dumbmojo's reason why electric guitar is on their number one list is that stereotype you said and that it is flexible with any genre. If you must know, the reason why we, or I atleast, reacted in such sarcastic way because 1) it is overglorified, 2) we too thought it was super cool in our teen years and everybody i knew was so into it and over time, it kinda just became a normal instrument and kinda lost its zing, and 3) after all the sacrilegious things said by dumbmojo about the other instruments on the list it was like, "i had enough" moment. Hope this clears up any issue about that joke lol 😆
OMG... finally I can see Apocalyptica in this channel 😍😍😍 the main reason why I always wanted to learn to play the cello, finding the beauty of classical music indeed

Yeahhh all of these videos are literally jokes and people either takem seriously and get offended or takem seriously and think that its someones educated list. Never gets old, though that's why these guys go viral. If anybody truly thinks either of the above perspectives is matching their own.. I suggest looking up the term controversial. @@4321user-_: Yeah, but their ranking isn't too out of line with what people who are knowledgeable might rank them. Strauss, Dvorak and Puccini). Would my list have looked different? Sure, I personally am biased towards Mussorgsky, Saint-Saëns and Prokofiev, and also like Mendelssohn more than some on the Watchmojo list, but theirs is not laughable by any means.

Their faces after "Some might not think that there's much coolness to be found in the humble violin" should be in the dictionary for offended. Eddy looks ready to kill, lol.
To be fair, there are at least a few very notable exceptions in rock and metal. Metallica’s Cliff Burton actually wrote quite a bit during his time in the band, Lemmy from Motorhead also sang and acted as the frontman, and Iron Maiden wouldn’t exist without their bassist, Steve Harris. Also there are many songs where the intro or even the whole song is defined by a bass riff, I personally always think of Tool, Primus, Sly and the Family Stone, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anyway I’m not trying to tell you off or anything, I just think it’s kind of interesting.
I reckon it's DumbMojo trying to sound cool to the masses. But, coolest is a very subjective matter, I definitely wouldn't place electric guitar at #1, but I'm sure I'd have an argument with someone that thought it belonged there 😁
wtf... "synthesizer" is not "one instrument"... The coolness of a big modular system on stage is on a totally different level compared to a laptop with a plugin that makes fart sounds.
@@MrProthall Sorry, no it doesn't. The difference is in the unique physical user interface and the expressiveness of a particular synthesizer _instrument_ in the hands of a professional player. There is much more variation to that, than what a regular MIDI-mapping can bring. That's why all synthesizers can't be considered "one instrument".
Say what you want about the synthesizer, it's one of those ridiculously versatile instruments since you can make it sound like almost anything. And learning to actually synthesize sounds from scratch is arguably an art form in itself. So I think it's justified it's appearance. Now why there's no brass i have no clue
The instruments i wanna learn/am playing already are in the list- im proud Btw they r violin, keyboard (synth or piano or any other), bass, drums, electric guitar

@@sc1ss0r1ng Yeah you don't need to get started on fingerstyle. I know of it. I AM a fingerstyle guitarist.
He's just trying to fit all his vocabulary in one sentence: have some tolerance. 🔥🔥🔥😁

Twosetviolin sparks up wars and triggers every other musicians about their instruments
@@koolaid4991 Not at all. It’s just that they showed off probably the most lame and least musical part of the song and it has much more to it.

I love acoustic and classic instruments just as much. As you say, they have their place!
Dumbmojo: number 1, electric guitar
Every classical musicians ever: ayt, imma head out
But the thing is, it really can be a great instrument but just as rock people think all classical is just Bach or Mozart or those two Beethoven symphony excerpts (5 and finale of 9), and that what makes classical violin playing special is how fast they can play how many high notes... so, too, that is exactly how classical musicians view rock guitar, thinking only of Metallica as an example of supposedly the best that electric guitar has to offer, and punk as the standard for everything else.
If you must know, the reason why we, or I atleast, reacted in such sarcastic way because 1) it is overglorified, 2) we too thought it was super cool in our teen years and everybody i knew was so into it and over time, it kinda just became a normal instrument and kinda lost its zing, and 3) after all the sacrilegious things said by dumbmojo about the other instruments on the list it was like, "i had enough" moment. wtf... "synthesizer" is not "one instrument"... The coolness of a big modular system on stage is on a totally different level compared to a laptop with a plugin that makes fart sounds.
And yet a synthesizer works basically the same way as a laptop where you plug in a midi keyboard and map sounds to the keys.
Why do I feel ashamed that I play 3 instruments on this list, the piano, saxophone and cello..

"Sure, some might not think there's much coolness to be found within the humble violin"
Me: OMG I NEED TO SEE THEIR FACES
their faces: 👁_👁
They were too pissed to realise that they used Pag’s 24th Caprice as an example of violin piece
Say what you want about the synthesizer, it's one of those ridiculously versatile instruments since you can make it sound like almost anything. And learning to actually synthesize sounds from scratch is arguably an art form in itself. So I think it's justified it's appearance. Now why there's no brass i have no clue
The instruments i wanna learn/am playing already are in the list- im proud
Btw they r violin, keyboard (synth or piano or any other), bass, drums, electric guitar
