Jamie - compiling something like an MTDP does not fall out of the air. It requires a structured, planned, coordinated and evidence-based approach to determine what the priorities of the new administration should be. It takes time and careful consideration especially given that several political parties now form part of the government. Most Provinces are also still busy finalising their new Provincial Strategic Plans.
Budget alignment with the MTDP - No what the Minister of Finance said is that in the absence of the MTDP being approved by cabinet on Friday, he will have to continue with the mid-year budget. It makes perfect sense as he has no choice but to proceed. A mid-year budget in any event does not involve major expenditure shifts for something like new priorities. This is done in the main Budget in February so plenty of time to still align next year's budget and the MTEF accompanying it to the direction of the MTDP. So no the ANC is not continuing with its own plan just because the MTDP is still to be approved.
I don’t think anything will be aligned. Based on the lack of alignment up till this point. It’s been over four months since the election ended and there is no plan in sight and no performance agreements in sight.
Maybe the current medical aid funds must do something about evident the imbalances in the provision of health-care. Maybe they should assist in the construction of new hospitals and clinics so that there won't be a need for NHI.

The more the government interferes with your choices and tell you what to do, the less economic activity is going to take place, making people poorer in the long term. The ANC with their identity politics and overregulation is destroying the country.
@@-hx6zm The markets is whatever you choose to do with your own money. "Free markets" basically just means the minimum amount of government interference in private transactions between individuals and/or companies. Let people employ who they want, allow them to fire them if they don't perform (Which in turn will make them also more willing to take risks employing someone new), reduce regulations and allow the markets to do what the markets does best: Create wealth for the most amount of people. More government interference = less economic activity = more poverty.

Why not leave private medical aids alone and implement NHI successfully? If NHI is run successfully, then automatically upper and middle class people will leave the medical aids for the NHI. Same goes for private schools. If public schools are of high standard, then middle and upper class people will not send their kids to private schools. Then they'll eventually close. In a nutshell, public institutions must raise their standard such that citizens dont see the need to pay hefty amounts for private service.
What you are saying is lets have a public medical scheme and hospitals for the poor and private medical scheme and hospitals for the rich. When will inequality and marginalization end when even well off black people are bought by white privileges.
Medical aid is a financial product...if you have public hospitals and clinics..then where are the professionals to do the actual medical treatments since government is failing to even hire them to worknin public service...they wasted a lot of money in hospital tenders for equipment. .etc..NHI can and will not fix the rot @kayrams1792
The problem is that when medical aid runs out you happily forget the corruption and incompetent public health facilities and use them. When you no longer afford private school, you fight for space in public schools. The government owes us good service I agree and must focus on that more than next door.

It takes time and careful consideration especially given that several political parties now form part of the government. Most Provinces are also still busy finalising their new Provincial Strategic Plans.

A GNU dispute resolution mechanism has been put in place to deal with these types of disputes.
There are serious issues within the medical aids. People are overpaying and there is a lot of wealth extraction.
But remember they are looking for profits
Canada health system and UK is the same , however what is different is you pay for medication in Canada.
We pay for prescriptions as well in the UK, except for those on unemployment benefits as in social welfare.
The MTSF was the previous government's 5-year plan and not that of the ANC per se. Important to acknowledge the division between party and state.

If it becomes the ANC wanting to dictate then the DA must leave the GNU. The last thing is to be seen to be the one and the same as the ANC. That would be a disaster for the country. We have only 18 months to the local elections and the DA can ill afford to lose the advantage to the ANC. Sometimes it’s necessary to take the short term pain for long term gain.
DA will never leave the comforts of power, it's what they've always wanted
@@PhakimpiDubois-rf8bz The DA doesn’t want power, for goodness sake even Gayton said he wants power. Which political party doesn’t want power?? What can you change without power??
DA want power desparatly. DA won't quit the Multi Coalition called the GNU. They just sing that daily prayer but action won't happen. They just using the GNU as a threat to leave when things doesn't go their way.
@@theonly6359 well they were very vocal about the size of the cabinet, cadre deployment and minesterial perks (blue lights). Today they form a government with the largest ever cabinet size, they are implementing cadre deployment to the point they want to deviate from minimum requirements so they can appoint matriculants to the ministers office and I'm yet to see a DA minister rejecting the government perks.
They hate MK more than they hate being like the ANC

@@Hannodb1961If you talking abt the markets, are you referring to the world at large or a certain group of countries and people ( USA, Britain, France, Germany and the stellenbosch group)?
@-hx6zm The market is what you choose to do with your own money.
People must not forget that DA wants poor people recognized, which is true. DA is the only hope 😢for poor people who have been abandoned by ANC because of corruption.
That's not true, us who stay in Cape Town know the reality. Both DA n ANC are not about the poor.
Since when did DA adopt socialists policy? 😮
It is the DA that created the poverty in the first place under that National party.

@@monkimabiletsa332 my point is that the gvt is selling us out to private institutions by not providing quality public service.

It is certainly not ideal sleeping with the ANC. However what would be far worse, would be the ANC sleeping with the EFF. SA must be the only former African colony that has remained trapped in the past. Wake up Black SA, lest you fall so far behind that your Black continental brothers look down upon you and abandon you.
There is no Africa brother and sister here they worse then colonizers. They are here to loot as well please stop.
You are a actually saying the ANC DA fake relationship is a disaster. However you rather have that than ANC EFF relationship. You are actually reinforcing the divide and rule concept. You cannot be more racist than that. You even have the gal to refer to black SA.
@@monkimabiletsa332 truth has no colour. Furthermore my comments must be contextualized - a black person bemoaned the ANC's relationship with the DA and I responded to that by agreeing it was not ideal, but preferable to the alternatives and that those African naysayers who would wish otherwise, need to get off their racist high horse and look at the progress being made elsewhere across the continent by countries that have indeed moved on. If you did not follow this, then that is on you and not on me. Prior to retiring I traveled and worked throughout much of Africa - fact is we are being left behind. Much of Africa sees SA's blacks in a very dim light. I don't like it, but that is a reality.
@@philipschoultz1166 OK Phillip, let's contextualize. In that contextualisation, answer the questions : WHY is it the Black person bemoaned the Anc DA alliance? WHY is it the Blacks in SA, as opposed to their fellow Africans have not moved on? WHY are my fellow Africans looking down on SA Blacks as you call us.
@@monkimabiletsa332 that you should ask them, not me. Can those DA irritants just leave government? ANC must be guided by Panyaza how to form coalition governments.
