    Suga has changed in many ways since this recording, he faced a lot of fears and overcame by telling his story in words and although he may be a loner he excels on his program Suchwita when he has guests come on for an hour interview with him. He created the program for the members to have a place to talk about their solo projects. He is in a good place now.

    In this episode you can see Suga going shopping and getting excited over the new equipment he bought on tour. Them going to each other's hotel rooms and bringing food or checking up on each other. A lot of footage is from their docuseries 'Burn The Stage'. The members getting ready before the Billboard awards, at the awards and afterwards returning to their hotel to celebrate with their fans.
    If you noticed, none of the interviewers asked them anything about their music, all they wanted to know was how they could have such a large social media following. Well this episode showed how.
    They share so much with their fans and this doesn't just create a huge fanbase - this creates fans that really get to know you as a person not just a performer.
    Something else to take note of is the award they won at Billboard was Top Social Artist (a fan voted award). At this point (2017) they still weren't being recognized for their music. Funnily enough, after winning this award 4 years running Billboard removed the category since no other artist stood a chance at winning despite the fact that Bieber won it 6 years in a row and they didn't see that as a problem then.
    Side note: The American Music Awards was one of the first ones to let them perform and to actually nominate them for awards in a music category. In America that is.
    And yes the racism does still exist. After getting ZERO nominations for the Grammy's this year there were still hate comments under the Grammy nomination video. Which is like why? Also I personally believe they didn't get nominated this year because they will be in the military at the time of the awards and wouldn't be able to perform. If the Grammy's can't use them for clickbait then why bother nominating them. I predict there will be no nominations for them next year either but they will (magically) get nominated in 2025 because they will all be out of the military and able to perform again. Just my opinion.

      @@coffeevanilla2801 All of the BTS albums released (Indigo, Face, D Day, Layover and Golden) ALL deserve a Grammy nomination in various categories. And yes Seven should have absolutely been there in at least best POP song of the year. But the Grammy's won't do that. They don't care about actual music (they haven't for over 20 years). They only care about who's 'wining and dining' them and what brings views to their outdated, biased and self indulgent agenda.

    Back in 2017 most of the American public and some of the music industry did not know who BTS was. This was a fan voted award and Army decided to show what BTS and Army could do. The voting period was about 2 weeks long and Army voted... and voted... and voted. The final tally for BTS was over 300M votes. It set a Billboard record. This was the first award that BTS won in the US and really opened the eyes of the American music industry. 💜

      I remember,ARMYs took turns to vote due to different time zone and continents. BTS and ARMYs were mocked by other k pop fandoms 'western validation ' and they team up to vote for Justine Beiber. Only for them to vote like crazy when their favs were nominated following year and they called it 'Asian Representative '. The narrative changed when it's their favs. That's why I don't associates with other fandom except for ARMYs.

    I hope you understand now why ARMY, the true 90% of paying ARMY (yes, 2 tier subscriptions to BTS in Weverse Shop), are so protective of the members. These guys have reached no other artist has all of 7 of them, even in the west, has achieved, on their own terms. They were given artistic freedom from the beginning and over time, they got better and better. Map of the Soul was an incredible album yet it’s not recognized. These guys have nothing to prove, they’ve done it. In ARMY’s eyes, they are 7 kings. Hands down. Borahae!

    True! KPop idols most especially BTS, look at their fans eyes when they interact with them. They are genuinely happy and greatful for everything their fans are doing to support them. V once told ARMYs in their fan sign event to put their cameras down coz he couldn’t see their faces. He said, “I want to see the beautiful faces of our ARMYs not the big cameras you’re holding!” They won BBMA’s TOP Social Artist award from 2017 to 2021. I’m not sure about 2022.

    Not to poo poo a country I love and count myself a loyal citizen of, but throughout our history no matter who you are, save a limited number of people, there always seems to be a need to identify someone as an other. To a large number of people BTS was exactly that, an outsider not really invited to participate in the mainstreams. I clearly remember the extraordinary number of aspersions heaped on BTS from being simply a corporate creation to being effeminate to having limited talent to being a boyband tailored for teenage girls. I remember being ridiculed for liking them as they were just Asian pretty boys. BTS always seemed in many American minds, my friends included, to be something other than what I should have been connecting to as they were outside the list of "acceptable" things to engage. I was dabbling in an other. And others are what Americans no matter their camp, race, politics, or whatever seem to love discerning and often disparaging.
    I think BTS went to the Billboard winners party after that win only of have a number of people mocking them for wearing makeup as they entered. Being an ugly American was felt possible because BTS speak English. Little did these prejudice people think about the fact they were on camera. Their party was being crashed and BTS were others not entitled to be there. And as history would have it, BTS ceased going to victory parties after that choosing to instead go live with the people who got them there, ARMY. Smart move.

    Hate to say, but they still get treated like they don't belong here in the US and face discrimination, racism. The industry is and has been shutting them out left and right because they're aren't white or singing in English. As big as they are, and the 3 to 4 days sold US stadium tours they've been doing since 2018 we should be hearing about them on radio & media non stop like we to TS, Olivia, Ariana..etc...but we don't. 😢

    • @mev9752
      @mev9752 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats cuz they don’t make deals with radio and streaming platforms like those artists companies do , and when they do that , their creativity gets compromise , which is something BTS and the rapline decided not to do. That’s why you see jks last songs to get radio , cuz the western producers get most of the money so US label will send it to radio and do playlist just like they did with dynamite and butter. With that you get exposure for the song and the singer “gets famous” but as an artists you never get more money than the producers and US label most of them even get in debt , in reverse like rapline dont gets much exposure but with their work,but they get most of the money that’s why they are the richest in the group.

    • @LPnerd
      @LPnerd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't disagree, however I wonder if the real reason is they are so much better, in order to beat them in anything, other artists would actually have to work hard? Congrats to Taylor Swift, she is certainly deserving.

    "Melting pot" means everyone conforms. Everyone must speak the same language, look and act the same. Nothing in a melting pot stands out.
    Here in Canada, we refer to our country as "muliti-cultural". That is, everyone's cultures remain distinct.
    We're not free of racism, but generally, cultural diversity is normalized and even celebrated.

    Trust, the racism hasnt slowed down that much. It spiked back yp during COVID and hasnt really ebbed much, especially since the guys and their solo albums are challenging certain white artists.
    And its not in your face all the time. Radio still refuses to give their music spins, even JK's all English songs. Debut week he got less than 5k radio spins, while the #1 song got 40+ million. JK outsold AND outstreamed, but still ended up in 2nd because of the lack of radio play, which Billboard started giving more weight to since Dynamite's 10 weeks at #1.
    So its always there.

    Jin wrote Suga a letter: "The members will support you because you are Bangtan's pride..." The letter that Jin wrote to Suga was emotional. All the members were supposed to write a letter to ARMY (Japan, 2014), but Jin wrote to Yoongi. During those years, Yoongi had a difficult time. And his hyung wrote him a letter of support! Suga shows by actions how much he loves them. Suga' shoulder where he had a scar from the accident, he got a tattoo of 7...he was healed by the members. In every interview and at his concerts, he only mentioned his brothers! J-hope wanted to leave the group, but the members and RM said that nothing would work without him. He trusted them. That's what sets them apart from other bands. This is their connection. The main answer to their success is their FAMILY, TEAM relationships.
    And also BTS was and remains the 7th artist whose priorities are honesty and ARMY. How grateful we are to them and how grateful they are to us! We are their partners 🤝💜
