Proper siblings there. Sabellian is the older brother who's been there, done that, went to college and studied to be more about the subterfuge and defense. Wrathion is the younger, more energetic brother striving to prove themselves that wanders around, does his own thing, chafes under the rules and regulations, and prefers to go hands on to get stuff done. No wonder they get on each others nerves.

To be honest, I am frustrated they didn't develop his character more. This was probably the devs thinking of a good plot, then being like 'but who?' Then someone reminding them of Sebellion's existence. At the very least they should have given us a background as to what Sebellion was doing the entire time. Instead they make it seem like he was lazy and stagnant (when in reality the devs probably forgot all about him). Cool overall concept with the Wrathion vs Sebellion, but I just wish we had more of a background on Sebellion. Rather than being left with basically having to make assumptions about his character.

When Wrathion was flying me up to the throne to debate Sebillian I was talking him up to my partner as we were playing through it together, and Wrathion fucking dropped me. I was an Evoker but I thought it was part of the cutscene so I just fell to my death. It was so funny.
I really like how they showed both sides of the 2 dragons. Sable = first the better choice, because he is smarter. Later becoming almost a tyrant that wants to enslave fellow dragons. Ends justify the means for him. Wrath = annoying and childish, no impuls control. Later very empathic and caring. His flaw is that he sees himself as the chosen one.
My only problem with the lore of this xpac so far is how the hell is the Earthen Ring no where to be found when the main antagonists are elementally infused dragons?
they could be good X.1 patch reinforcements, like "we need some expertease on some super advanced/ancient knowledge about elemental magic, call the earthen ring"
As I was questing on my shaman, I kept thinking to myself "Isn't there anything my character would be able to do, considering he's the Farseer." I suppose all we can do is what the NPCs tell us to kill or use the tools they allow us to use.
Wrathion “cleansing” The corruption of his flight, lol a very nice way of saying he killed all the black dragons that were on Azeroth. He didn’t kill Ebyssian but that’s because he was lucky enough to not have been corrupted. Now while blizzard have done a poor job of delving into what Sabellian did, it is obvious that he’s the one who actually saved his flight by ensuring that there were uncorrupted black dragons to actually make up the flight.
Although it took some time to go throuh, I really liked Veritistrasz quest. Kind of a nice change of pase from all the other stuff we are always doing. I also did the quest when the sun was setting so the view was really beautiful too.
You've probably found it by now, but you can find a book written by the dwarf's friend, and he finally remembers her name and thanks you for it I loved that quest just showing two dragons that were close he loved her maybe as siblings or more And how the corruption afflicted them Not just how the corruption affected the aspects
I absolutely love Sabellian and Wrathion's bickering. They're like an old married couple. I wonder if it's possible to split the Aspect Power between two dragons? Sabellian's experience combined with Wrathion's guile and ambition, could be a very interesting combo.

Listen to the old dragon about the corruption of the Black Dragonflight also give insight to the Dracthyr and how many of them feel about Neltharion: some may be thinking simular thoughts. How they are the only ones left who remember Deathwing as Neltharion, outside of the few remaining Aspects. How odd that none of his children knew Deathing as the Earth Warder, just the Cataclysm. It's why I see them accepting Ebyssian out of the three possible new Earth Aspects to lead them. He may not want it, but that is perhaps why he's best suited for it. Azeroth needs someone to care for her once again among the Dragon Aspects.
I find myself much more interested in the lore of Dragonflight vs. BFA or shadowlands, not for any reason beyond I just kinda care about the characters and actually like a lot of them. You can make all the insane interweaving world building lore you want, but if it isn't populated by characters I'm interested in then its all a waste. I'm not saying its mind blowingly good but im at least interested as compared to before.
He's also like twenty, which is the dragon equivalent of a preteen. She's twenty thousand years old and probably also jacked up on something suspicious. Having eaten the heart of Lei Shen is the only reason he survives this encounter at all.

Hey Nobbel! :-) I am with you on Team Wrathion. And I have to admit that I was surprised that Ebenhorn did not have a say in the argument about who will lead the black flight. After playing through the Dracthyr starting zone, he seemed to be a clear candidate. But then I thought that Ebenhorn might just not be part of Neltharions legacy, and he is not the type to snatch a powerful position that is not his. Instead, wise as he is, he would make a formidable advisor to young and hotblooded Wrathion. And though I do like your idea of Ebenhorn becoming the new Aspect, which would be an interesting plot twist, I hope for a different outcome. I would consider it more satisfying if Sebellian won but then had to sacrifice himself in order to overcome some major obstacle. That would give all the players who voted for him the validation that they chose right. Then young Wrathion has to step up in a dire situation which he can only master by going through some character development, this way becoming a worthy Aspect in the end. So all players who chose him would have their choice validated as well. :-) Don't we all want to see the young offspring growing and maturing and excelling at their tasks? I hope Wrathion will. :-)
I genuinely hope Wrathion gets the title and Sabellian becomes his right hand man. Wrathion's been the one that's been instrumental to there still being a Dragon Isles to return to after all. Sabellian went out for cigs 15 years ago and came back because somebody touched the TV while Wrathion is 2 for 3 for apocalypses stopped (Deathwing check, Legion failed/indirectly accelerated, N'Zoth check). Wrathion's problem is he has cunning but lacks wisdom. I'll put it this way: Sabellian is a better leader of the flight, Wrathion is a better Earthwarder. The title for grabs is Earthwarder. It should go to Wrathion. Sabellian meanwhile should either lead the blacks anyway or he should be the guiding hand to help Wrathion do so.
Wrathion the King Sebellian the hand of the king. Who tf is Sebellian to the people of Azeroth anyways? He has not earned anything yet claims everything.
@@lichmourne00 Don't get me wrong, I want to see Wrathion get the throne, but its the black dragonflight that decides this. Not the people of Azeroth. And to the black dragonflight, Sebellian is the guy who saved them from extinction and is the reason there is anything even close to a stable population of black dragons today but was corrupted along with the entire flight. On the other hand, Wrathion is the guy who helped save Azeroth twice and almost doomed it once. All in all, I'd say that they both have equal claim to the throne, which is what makes this storyline so interesting.
@@Preaplanes the one point I think both of us can agree on is that end of the day I want them both to work together. I don't want either one to turn into an envious antagonist if they lose. Because I really love their brotherly dynamic and I need more of it in my life.
These videos make me want to return to WoW and play the new expansion, but I have to stay strong and wait for the feedback in 1-2 months after the initial hype fades and the end content is shown. Also, Christmas is near, so that's a pause to gaining. 🙁

Headcannon - sabellian and wrathion find common ground. Go on an adventure together. Sabellian becomes what wrathion never had, but always needed...a father figure. Sabellian is chosen to be the next aspect. Something happens, sabellian dies before becoming aspect, but his influence and age old wisdom helped mature wrathion, and wrathion becomes aspect after learning and growing much over the course of this expansion. In all fairness to wrathion, he does seem to genuinely care for azeroth and his flight and everything, he's just young, reckless, and naive. As he is, he would inadvertently damage his flight, but with a bit of maturing, do believe he could be a great aspect.
Sabellian should be the new Black Aspect. Though I am sure Blizzard will twist to make Wrathion its leader. He is too childish, only out for himself and when things dont go his way, he throws a fit or storms off. Not the first time he has done this. Upset at Varian for not ending the Horde, the Legion on Draenor and later Azeroth, and now this. Sabellian is collected, mature, and wanting to bring the Black into the flights proper.
honestly I think ebonhorn would also make a good Aspect. I believe Wrathion COULD become the Aspect but he's a better situation of the Garrosh situation.
I expect a lot of retcons before the xpac is done. The relationship between the Aspect and their flight being a big one. I expected a side trip to the Obsidian Sanctum, Blackrock Mtn and other places to recover an egg or two. Cool Sabellian showed up. I like that Wrathion is on the back foot for a change. But it's hard not to support the Black Prince. He has been here while Sabellian has been kicking it in Outland.
One last bit. Normally I'm all about the in-game lore. But dragon riding and flight rings are enough to trigger this old gamers nostalgia for Activision's other dragon property: Hanzo! No, of course I mean Spyro. Maybe when things call down you could do a bit on Spyrogos.
"The boy king serves at the master’s table. Three lies will he offer you" This does not mean that Wrathion is evil. But I think Wrathion must live up to his fathers legacy and be less of an oppertunistic Leeroy Jenkins and more of a careful tactician.
To be honest, after BfA and SL (both not great addons in my book) I was not sure if they manage to do better. So far, Dragonflight was enjoyable. The zones look good, game mechanics for the most part are solid or even good (Dragon flying feels pretty good in my opinion), writing so far also isn't bad. One can only hope they don't fuck it up later in the addon, in terms of SL I thought the storylines in the zones and some of the covenant stories were also enjoyable but it got worse later.
That lore on the origin of the Drakonid. Where did Nobbel discover that? I did every quest and read them too and nothing said that the Drakonid were altered by the Aspects.

You do realize a lot of those dragon riders are expedition members right? Like there were ships before the one we arrived on with Toddy and Naleidea, that’s how they set up camp on the shore and in the embassy.

Watching this towards the end of Dragonflight changes my perspective, a little bit hypocritical to kill young elemental whelps when the aspects literally kidnapped eggs and infused them with Order magic. The Incarnates were right, at least when it comes to rejecting Order magic.
so for some reason i am actually having issues getting the quest to talk to the dragonoid to have him go see orc man also how has sabellian been rebuilding the flight for millennia? like i get you were on outland dude but outland isn't really in the nether so it does follow normal time rules.
In short we go to where reality was first created, we created a new crown from the helm of domination, we free anduin from the jailer, we create a new arbiter, we kill the jailer and he tell us he was really the good guy along and was trying to save us from an unknown threat, and the dark lady is send in the maw to collect all the souls there as punishment for everything.

Base game is not free. If you subscribe, you get access to the game from Vanilla all the way up to Shadowlands, and then you pay only for the Dragonflight expansion separately. I believe in USD that would be 15USD for the sub and then 40USD for the expansion? Not sure on the numbers, I use other currency cause of my country
I like the new dragon models but they could atleast give Seb a more of a unique model like wrathion nefarian or onyxia he basicly looks the same as every other new type of dragon in the dragon isles
Dragonflight is making me want to pick up WoW for the first time in nearly a Decade. Personally i just hate the atmosphere with a lot of MMO's, but my tastes have changed over time and maybe the game has changed and maybe i can find some friends who like my style of gameplay (aka not grinding instances and obsessing over minimaxing)
I really hope Sabellian gets to be aspect, Wrathion has done way too much harm and is overall kind of a dumb ass.I don't think we should let the guy who basically caused everything from WoD-SL to be aspect, it's sad blizzard really just hopes we forget he's one who freed garrosh and gave him the tools to make the Iron horde.

Loved it! Haven't done the side quests for the each zone yet, only main story. So seeing flashes of some of those throughout was very nice!

I genuinely hope that Sebellian becomes the Black Dragonflight's aspect and that he doesn't get killed off in the patch after it gets confirmed.
I genuinely hope Wrathion gets the title and Sabellian becomes his right hand man. Wrathion's been the one that's been instrumental to there still being a Dragon Isles to return to after all. Sabellian went out for cigs 15 years ago and came back because somebody touched the TV while Wrathion is 2 for 3 for apocalypses stopped (Deathwing check, Legion failed/indirectly accelerated, N'Zoth check). Wrathion's problem is he has cunning but lacks wisdom.
I'll put it this way: Sabellian is a better leader of the flight, Wrathion is a better Earthwarder. The title for grabs is Earthwarder. It should go to Wrathion. Sabellian meanwhile should either lead the blacks anyway or he should be the guiding hand to help Wrathion do so.

@@lichmourne00 Don't get me wrong, I want to see Wrathion get the throne, but its the black dragonflight that decides this. Not the people of Azeroth. And to the black dragonflight, Sebellian is the guy who saved them from extinction and is the reason there is anything even close to a stable population of black dragons today but was corrupted along with the entire flight. On the other hand, Wrathion is the guy who helped save Azeroth twice and almost doomed it once. All in all, I'd say that they both have equal claim to the throne, which is what makes this storyline so interesting.
@@Preaplanes the one point I think both of us can agree on is that end of the day I want them both to work together. I don't want either one to turn into an envious antagonist if they lose. Because I really love their brotherly dynamic and I need more of it in my life.

Headcannon - sabellian and wrathion find common ground. Go on an adventure together. Sabellian becomes what wrathion never had, but always needed...a father figure. Sabellian is chosen to be the next aspect. Something happens, sabellian dies before becoming aspect, but his influence and age old wisdom helped mature wrathion, and wrathion becomes aspect after learning and growing much over the course of this expansion.
In all fairness to wrathion, he does seem to genuinely care for azeroth and his flight and everything, he's just young, reckless, and naive. As he is, he would inadvertently damage his flight, but with a bit of maturing, do believe he could be a great aspect.

Sabellian should be the new Black Aspect. Though I am sure Blizzard will twist to make Wrathion its leader. He is too childish, only out for himself and when things dont go his way, he throws a fit or storms off. Not the first time he has done this. Upset at Varian for not ending the Horde, the Legion on Draenor and later Azeroth, and now this. Sabellian is collected, mature, and wanting to bring the Black into the flights proper.
honestly I think ebonhorn would also make a good Aspect. I believe Wrathion COULD become the Aspect but he's a better situation of the Garrosh situation.

i liked it better when the lore behind the drakonid/dragonspawn were mortals that hung around dragons too long.
It might still be partially canon, since one of the bosses in Blackrock Caverns turned ads and players into elite drakonids.

I expect a lot of retcons before the xpac is done. The relationship between the Aspect and their flight being a big one.
I expected a side trip to the Obsidian Sanctum, Blackrock Mtn and other places to recover an egg or two.
Cool Sabellian showed up. I like that Wrathion is on the back foot for a change. But it's hard not to support the Black Prince. He has been here while Sabellian has been kicking it in Outland.
One last bit. Normally I'm all about the in-game lore. But dragon riding and flight rings are enough to trigger this old gamers nostalgia for Activision's other dragon property: Hanzo!

This does not mean that Wrathion is evil. But I think Wrathion must live up to his fathers legacy and be less of an oppertunistic Leeroy Jenkins and more of a careful tactician.
To be honest, after BfA and SL (both not great addons in my book) I was not sure if they manage to do better.
So far, Dragonflight was enjoyable. The zones look good, game mechanics for the most part are solid or even good (Dragon flying feels pretty good in my opinion), writing so far also isn't bad.
One can only hope they don't fuck it up later in the addon, in terms of SL I thought the storylines in the zones and some of the covenant stories were also enjoyable but it got worse later.
After watching a dozen lore, story, catch-up, and back-story videos on Dragonflight, I still have no idea wtf is going on.

That lore on the origin of the Drakonid. Where did Nobbel discover that? I did every quest and read them too and nothing said that the Drakonid were altered by the Aspects.

You do realize a lot of those dragon riders are expedition members right? Like there were ships before the one we arrived on with Toddy and Naleidea, that’s how they set up camp on the shore and in the embassy.

Watching this towards the end of Dragonflight changes my perspective, a little bit hypocritical to kill young elemental whelps when the aspects literally kidnapped eggs and infused them with Order magic. The Incarnates were right, at least when it comes to rejecting Order magic.

Base game is not free. If you subscribe, you get access to the game from Vanilla all the way up to Shadowlands, and then you pay only for the Dragonflight expansion separately. I believe in USD that would be 15USD for the sub and then 40USD for the expansion? Not sure on the numbers, I use other currency cause of my country

Dragonflight is making me want to pick up WoW for the first time in nearly a Decade. Personally i just hate the atmosphere with a lot of MMO's, but my tastes have changed over time and maybe the game has changed and maybe i can find some friends who like my style of gameplay (aka not grinding instances and obsessing over minimaxing)
