Your kid asking what you're gonna name your plant and you answering 'hoya obovata' makes me wonder if he's thinking 'wow I'm glad you gave me a normal name' 😂
I think there's a lot of "rules" in the plant world, like drainage, no hoya in terracotta, etc , and honestly those rules scared me as a beginner! I was sure that any plant I repotted would die if I didn't do it quite right. I appreciate that you do different things and it all works out!
19:36 I also love clear/no drainage too because you can literally SEE if there is too much water. It’s basically fool proof as long as you have a chunky mix. ❤❤
Repotting plants is like giving them a new lease on life, and it's always a pleasure for me to be involved in this process. Done with care, it can unleash a wave of growth and vitality for the plant.😊🍀
Love waking up to a harlig vid on a shitty, rainy, depressing day.! Just what I needed as a pick me up after getting into a heated conversation with my sister. ❤
Omg harli you should do a repot with me with the kids like let them pick out their own plants at the store and make updates and have them help take care of them and repot them a bunch of video ideas ❤️
Out of this entire video I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOOOVED you and your boys giggling and bonding....the BEST!!!! Good onya mum 🤛 It was so refreshing to watch a video where the plants are there but the background noise was happy kiddy voices just hangin with mum doing her thing while not too busy for a cute exchange with her kids...well done!!!! 🥰
This video came out exactly as I was repotting a ton of cuttings I was gifted - perfect ❤ loved hearing your boys’ giggles and commentary. I bet he was hoping for a cooler plant name 😂 not the scientific name 😂😂😂
Hi Harli! Just watching this as I upload my own repot video (scheduled for June). I took a break from watching and making youtube videos for a little while, but your videos were an exception because they make me happy and motivated. They also give me lockdown vibes when the world was a weird place but I was happy in my flat with my plants 😅
I am in a camper in the rain, cold and fog. Also can’t hike at the moment. Because your video made me SO happy I was willing to stay for another day (at my husbands request). Thank You❣️
I have so much trouble with using peat, and also filling my pots to the top lol You're not alone with that! btw, your kiddos laughs are so contagious! How cute!
Yay, HarliG repot video!! I have a bunch of succulent pups (kalanchoe maybeee??) and I just repotted them into different little cups! And my giant African milf tree is finally back outside and is thriving, it was tired of being inside! 😅
I used to be anti-pots without drainage until I watched your recent videos where you put horticultural charcoal at the bottom. I started doing that too and haven’t had any issues with root rot thankfully!
Do not repot a Hoya based on the calendar, I have some in planters for years. Hoya don’t love their roots being messed with in my experience so I’m careful. I do like drainage and clear pots on Hoya because I can see the level of wet near roots
I love a repotting video!! And you and the boys laughing was so sweet. I show my plants love by watering them. Often. So I use mostly terracotta and always have a drainage hole. Even then I have loved some plants to death. Whoops. I have gotten better now that I have more plants, I can spread the love (water) around a bit more. Just another excuse to buy more plants. 😂😂😂
First off, your babes appearance in the video, and their laughter, was so wonderful!! Secondly, I love Hoyas so much and would love seeing your Hoya content!! My carnosa just bloomed (2 flowers!!) and it was the most magical thing ever - especially since it was my first Hoya bloom!! And it happened on Mother’s Day!!
I love potting in no drainage specially using glass vessels so I can see the roots. I dislike having to take my plants to the sink to water and even the dish trays I use (that I now thrift because of you, thank you!) I sometimes find tedious emptying it out. Anyways, great video like always!! ❤
Oh Harli, all of your Hoya are so beautiful that you repotted, I had alot of my Hoya get those stupid mealy bugs and I did lose a few of them. I treated them for a long time and this year is the first year ever that I got those mealy bugs. I have been repotting some of my plants and they seem alot happier now. I also really loved that last plant that you repotted it is so gorgeous in that new pot, and I remember last year I repotted a Hoya my mom gave me that was really rootbound and also got some propagations from it and they are doing so great and I think that I will start looking for the Hoya that I lost and buy them again. Thanks again for this wonderful video you really are so good at repotting your plants and I had a lot of fun watching this video, have a beautiful day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😂🥰🤗👍🙏🙏💖💕💜💜💜
YAY! Repot day for all! Currently repotting a fiddle leaf that was gifted to me (I’m so nervous😬), some Cebu props and some other props like tradescantia and some ivy and a goldfish plant 💚
9:20 I totally know what you mean about plant blooms. My Hoya Bella is flowering for the first time and I don't think it's physically possible to be more excited than I am. I know it's a pretty commun variety, but it's my only hoya, and it was a gift, and it's blooming for the first time and I'm just so happy.
Hi Harli! I'm with you on massaging the roots and loosening them up so they can spread out for nutrients. I also plant -carefully- in no drainage vessels as I have some vintage pots I am not drilling holes into. I use a moisture meter and I don't have a problem.
I only pot into no drainage when I know how easy the care is. Scindapsis, pothos, anything with leaves that can curl, I will carefully pot into no drainage, but I do get worried about adding too much water, but have been fine thus far.
omg I would LOVE a vid on how you repurpose used substrate!! As you said that I was just emptying out an old pot to mix into new potting mix, wondering if there is a better way to do this.
I've just started venturing into the no-drainage stuff and it's been going great. I cant keep up with watering certain plants and its been a game changer for watering and keeping the roots moist. I like doing a layer of perlite at the bottom for the resevoir
4:41 I def also wait to remove ‘old leaves’ because I have had instances where after the up pot, some of the leaves on the cusp of yellowing have bounced back to full color! I always give it a chance to settle and see what happens. ❤
Love your videos, so relatable! If you have a certain plant you want in terra cotta, you can always paint it (or have you kids do it) and spray and seal it... thats what I do and now they're some of my favorite pots ... I agree it works well in some spaces, but not my super colorful room :)
I could be wrong but your Jose Buono looks more like a Variegated Philodendron Gigantium.🌿 How ironic you sat it right next to the actual Jose Buono at the end lol 😂
My Hoya Multiflora also known as shooting star Hoya has a new peduncle bloom coming on. It’s a whole new peduncle my second one got sprayed with bug spray and it aborted the new buds. Then the third one popped out. If you want a spectacular bloom get one of these. Dark green foliage with white blooms that slowly turn yellow with age. They last about two weeks. Plus. Next to no scent, and no taste, yes I tasted it.
I have a palm with no drainage and its growing beautifully so as long as you know what your doing i think no drainage is fine.. I don't like the peat most stuff at Cactus and tropicals either by the way
I stopped using liquidirt but I can’t remember why. Now I think I’ll use it again. I use it with super thrive foliage-pro. I think I’ll try doing that again.
I have only potted a couple plants in no drainage pots… an Ivy and a fittonia.. because they like lots of water, so i don’t feel like it will hurt them if I go over board… but I’m not totally against the idea.
i love that philodendron! I want to try out some other houseplants. Atm i only keep orchids bc i know they are completely non toxic to pets, but I really want to branch out, no pun intended lol 💖
hey, the philodendron you were repoting is not jose buono, it looks more like giganteum variegated or something. jose buono is literally next to giganteum at the end of the video lol.
Depends on the plant if I do no drainage holes. As I've pared down my plants, most are in no drainage and Spath Domino lives in a nursery pot on the shower floor
My sister-in-law’s mother has kept Hoya pubicalyx in water for 40 years. Obviously, it doesn’t need a drainage hole. So the advice that you need to grow a Hoya with excellent drainage might depend upon the species.
Happy belated mother's day!! I need to get motivated to report a few things. I just saw a gnat. How does the mudwtr taste?? Is it earthy?? I want to get away from coffee and tea doesn't do enough for me. Curious to know what it tastes like. I know you love it. Have to make some lifestyle changes due to some blood work results
Not the most Hoya head but judging from a distance definitely a Hoya Mathilde and not a Hoya Serpens. But will say a Mathilde is a cross between a Serpens and a Carnosa.
Go to mudwtr.com/harlig to try your new morning ritual!
Company says the VPN was deactivated the same day you posted it
What does this taste like? Does it taste like coffee?
Your kid asking what you're gonna name your plant and you answering 'hoya obovata' makes me wonder if he's thinking 'wow I'm glad you gave me a normal name' 😂
Y’all giggling while you’re repotting the Hoya Obovata is too cute!! 😂
I'm pretty sure your Jose B is actually a stunning specimen of a philodendron giganteum blizzard!! 💚 Thanks for another awesome video harli!
Agreed! It actually ends up on a shelf next to her jose
"Mud water" is such a planty thing to drink while repotting 😂❤
I think there's a lot of "rules" in the plant world, like drainage, no hoya in terracotta, etc , and honestly those rules scared me as a beginner! I was sure that any plant I repotted would die if I didn't do it quite right. I appreciate that you do different things and it all works out!

Just what I needed as a pick me up after getting into a heated conversation with my sister. ❤
Hoya Mathilde is a cross of the serpens and carnosa, it's one of my favs! ❤ Yours look nice and lush together
Omg harli you should do a repot with me with the kids like let them pick out their own plants at the store and make updates and have them help take care of them and repot them a bunch of video ideas ❤️

More Hoyas 😍😍😍
I would love to see a substrate reusing video 😍
6:45 - Hoya Mathilde.
Yes, please show your process of repurposing soil! 🙏🏼😊
Love the laughing boys part! Ugh my heart ❤.
This video came out exactly as I was repotting a ton of cuttings I was gifted - perfect ❤ loved hearing your boys’ giggles and commentary. I bet he was hoping for a cooler plant name 😂 not the scientific name 😂😂😂

I have always been tempted to pot in no drainage. Watching your videos have inspired me to try a couple plants in no drainage!
I forgot to say good morning to you Harlig and a belated happy Mother’s Day. I hope it was a nice one.
I recently started doing no drainage hole with some repots because of you. I love the ease of it
All the cute giggeling and nice plants really set my mood this morning, thanks😍
Would absolutely LOVE to see your secondhand soil process. I hate using soil once, its so wasteful!
I used to be anti-pots without drainage until I watched your recent videos where you put horticultural charcoal at the bottom. I started doing that too and haven’t had any issues with root rot thankfully!

A very needed repotting ,they look great,I'm in the same boat ,they are all calling me for a repot !!👌👋
💚🌵🌿🍀💚

I would love to see a substrate reuse video! Both soil and the sphagnum from your propagations
Great video! Glad to see you getting back into Hoya content.
I would love to see a whole video on redoing your used soil.
Oh Harli, all of your Hoya are so beautiful that you repotted, I had alot of my Hoya get those stupid mealy bugs and I did lose a few of them. I'd love to see a video on how you repurpose your soil. That's a great idea!Thank you for sharing your videos. 🌿
Love seeing the roots loosened up. Makes sense to do so.
My son is about the same age as your second son and I love watching you interact with your kid😂 so touching❤ (my hormones....)
I feel like the hoya's i have are so easy with watering, so i have them in a non drainage too and it works fine!
Little boy giggles are the best
Love your repot videos🤗🍃🌱💚
Repotting videos are my fav
Would love a video of how you repurpose your soil!!
Yes! I love mypetitegarden’s hoya and terracotta aesthetic!
Yesss harli!!! Love seeing Hoya ❤❤❤
Hi Harli! I'm with you on massaging the roots and loosening them up so they can spread out for nutrients. I also plant -carefully- in no drainage vessels as I have some vintage pots I am not drilling holes into. I use a moisture meter and I don't have a problem.
You kept saying the philodendron is a jose but that's your giganteum blizzard isn't it? It's so pretty!
I noticed this too, the Jose is next to the plant she repotted at the end of the video but I don’t know what the plant she reported is called.
I love that laughter 😂
I only pot into no drainage when I know how easy the care is. Scindapsis, pothos, anything with leaves that can curl, I will carefully pot into no drainage, but I do get worried about adding too much water, but have been fine thus far.

I started repotting into no drainage because I’m a horrible underwaterer . Seems to really work for me
4:41 I def also wait to remove ‘old leaves’ because I have had instances where after the up pot, some of the leaves on the cusp of yellowing have bounced back to full color! I always give it a chance to settle and see what happens. ❤
The Jose Buono is a Variegated Gigantium 🥲😅 beautiful and one of my favorite plants 😍👏🏻
My no drainage are the pots sleeves that are pretty and cute. I plant everything in nursery pots. So they act as a plant tray at the same time.
Love your videos, so relatable! If you have a certain plant you want in terra cotta, you can always paint it (or have you kids do it) and spray and seal it... thats what I do and now they're some of my favorite pots ... I agree it works well in some spaces, but not my super colorful room :)
I never use no drainage pots, i don’t have nerves for that 🤩
Your Philo looked SOOOOOO much better after that up-pot! Jose Buono is on my wishlist 💚
That is not jose buono, im pretty sure it was giganteum var.
You have Hoya mathilde! The Serpens is even smaller ❤️
Loved this! And would love to see a video on reusing substrate
I noticed yesterday that my massive hoya has 8 and counting blooms starting.... 😊
17:28 I thought I was the only one who had that Hoya and love it 😊
I’d love a video on what to do with soil from a repotted plant!
I could be wrong but your Jose Buono looks more like a Variegated Philodendron Gigantium.🌿
How ironic you sat it right next to the actual Jose Buono at the end lol 😂
It totally is! I had a brain fart haha
@@HarliG LOL no worries
mine all in drainage pots
Go ahead and taste the hoya bloom! I do and they taste great. I just touch my tongue to the necter on the open bloom.
I have my big monstera deliciosa in non-drainage, and I love it, I also have my Hoya compacta and pothos in non-drainage terracotta.
The boys giggling 😂😀🇨🇦
Wait I've never heard of people letting used soil sit for a while before reusing it, would love a video about that!
I love all your hoja and that beautiful monstera.
Good vid. Thanks Harli!

Hoya Matilde. Serpens is tiny leaves and they are fuzzy.
That last plant doesn’t look like a Jose buono. Looks like a philodendron giganteum variegated
I have only potted a couple plants in no drainage pots… an Ivy and a fittonia.. because they like lots of water, so i don’t feel like it will hurt them if I go over board… but I’m not totally against the idea.
Giving those roots a massage is what you’re doing.
I also plant my pots too full and make a mess every time I water
i love that philodendron! I want to try out some other houseplants. Atm i only keep orchids bc i know they are completely non toxic to pets, but I really want to branch out, no pun intended lol 💖
Yes, on the used potting mix video
hey, the philodendron you were repoting is not jose buono, it looks more like giganteum variegated or something. jose buono is literally next to giganteum at the end of the video lol.

Piękne masz hoye. Moje ulubione. Pozdrawiam z Polski.💚☘️🖐️
I think you should sell your potting mix and make it ship internationally
My sister-in-law’s mother has kept Hoya pubicalyx in water for 40 years. Obviously, it doesn’t need a drainage hole. So the advice that you need to grow a Hoya with excellent drainage might depend upon the species.
So glad you did a Hoya centric video! My H. lacunosa has been blooming for two months. They smell like cinnamon, but it’s not overpowering.❤
Love the black pot but think the terra Cotta is a better size!
I have been tasting the sugar crystal on the vines of my latifolia for a long time now. Hope it doesn’t kill me🤪
You’re a Hoya master! I’m scared to touch their roots after I killed my variegated Hindu rope
I’m working on getting mine into clear nursery pots. I want to see the roots grow and moisture levels. They may go into pretty pots but maybe not.
Try carnivore diet....amazing, lots of people on TH-cam to look up!
thanks Harli🪴
I think all things need Drainage!😂
Not the most Hoya head but judging from a distance definitely a Hoya Mathilde and not a Hoya Serpens. But will say a Mathilde is a cross between a Serpens and a Carnosa.
I pot in drainage and a few in no drainage.
I NEVER pot directly into a container with no drainage.
It’s a Mathilde 😊
