The PS2 is my all-time favorite console. Well, it's tied. Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance are up there too. All 4 being a huge chunk of nostalgia for me, along with having TONS of great games. I've been playing a lot of PS2 lately. One game I think that's at least underrated, if not a hidden gem, is Ultimate Spider-Man. Everyone knows about the main Spider-Man movie games, but I rarely hear about Ultimate Spider-Man. I only just started it recently, and I'm loving it. It plays similar to Spider-Man 2. Web swinging is similar, it's an open world game, there's random events that you can do, there's collectibles scattered around the city, there's races and stuff. But, you also get to play as Venom throughout the story. It also aged better graphically, since it's a more comic book-y cartoony aesthetic instead of trying to be realistic. There's even cameos from other Marvel characters here and there. It's really fun, and anyone that's a fan of Spider-Man should check it out. Also, HOLY HELL, I forgot all about Kinetika. I had that game when I was younger. As soon as I saw the box art, I was like "OH MY GOD I REMEMBER THIS". Damn....memories, man.
Hidden gems = $$$$!! Buy these titles now on ebay before metal jesus calls them hidden gems. They're bound to go up in price sooner than later. Glad I have all of these titles.
thank you Wes + Rob for always being awesome ... and thank you for always cranking out great content! ... also, i never had a PS2 ... only a Wii U ... but your channel has started turning some gears up in my head ... i think since they both rhyme pretty good ... and for the many other reasons i could list here too ... including winning the "heavily biassed & obviously fixed" console wars, which deserves some big "booooooos"... i will be buying a used PS2 for when i need a break from playing on my beloved Wii U. ps - thank you to all the collaborators as well ... they have all personally told me that they also prefer the Wii U too.
Thanks a ton man! We totally recommend getting a PS2 if you can get a good deal on one. Lots of great games for when you are letting your Wii U take a nap :). Cheers!

I didn't even know that there was a second one... or to be precise; I think I knew there were more games in the series but I wasn't sure that the second one was ever released in PAL-area. Apparently it was and now I have to get myself a copy because I absolutely love the first Victorious Boxers.
I remember vividly playing the PS2 for the very first time, my brother and his buddies came over with pizza and one of my brothers friends brought over a PS2, and I had no idea what a PS2 was at the time, and he brought over 2 games that he let me play that day, and they were Crash Wrath of Cortex, and the infamous Grand Theft Auto 3 which I played pretty much that day, and didn't really like Wrath of Cortex (and now as an adult I can say that Wrath of Cortex is a bad Crash game) but running people over was funny, and I never knew why the main character couldn't swim, I never did any of the missions, I just screwed around. At the end of the night though, he brought over some movies, and we watched Freddy vs Jason, and that was my first time watching that movie and I loved it as a kid, still love it now and I watched it for the first time on the PS2. I have so many memories with the PS2 as it was the system I grew up with and I defended the system when the kids at my school had an Xbox and would tell me Halo is better, and I'm like "Sly Cooper is way better than Halo" and yeah man, I wish I could re-experience some of the classics for the first time ever again, but the ps2 has a big booty library, so I'm sure I'll experience some classics for the first time. Happy birthday PS2! *As GOTG looks away, JChip sneaks the ps2 a beer*

Wow so you got John Riggs, and Kinsey, but now Metal Jesus? How did you get part of the Metal Jesus Crew? Plus Kinetica is an awesome game! Great pick from Pacmancase!

While although the PS2 has a huge smattering of sports games there were definitely a lot of great games on it as well that several were overlooked, at least at the time. Great videos and I always love the collaborations.
For sure. And on the sports game front.......this was the best generation of sports games in our opinion. From sim stuff to the EA Big and Midway arcade sports genre. It was pretty epic. Thanks a ton for watching. Cheers!

So many of these amazing games i’m reminded that I have. I know exactly what I’m going to be doing for the foreseeable future.....Riding the ps2 train!!!
Solid game recommendations overall but many of them aren't really unknown to be considered "hidden" as they were re-released multiple times: Katamari Damacy is available for the PS3 as a PS2 Classic and it's also currently available for every console and PC. Zone of the Enders was remastered for PS3 and Xbox 360. Kinetica is readily available for the PS4, via PS2 emulation and runs much better on PS4. Red Star is also available on the PS3 as a PS2 Classic. The Maximo games aren't hidden at all, unless you're a collector who doesn't play or know much about classic video games such as the Ghosts 'n Goblins franchise.
Depends on one's perspective. The average PS2 owner likely hasn't heard of or played most of these games. Of course the hardcore crowd has. I can say I never see any of these games out in the wild. I've probably bought over 30 PS2 lots from folks in my time game hunting and none of these games are in their collections. Tons of GTA, Rachet and Clank etc. Thanks for watching and cheers to the PS2!
@@GamingOffTheGrid It's not a matter of hardcore or not. Besides what I previously wrote, most of the games on the video were covered by gaming magazines at the time of release and were available in stores. Anyone who was an adult during the PS2 generation knows that. Just because PS4 games will eventually no longer exist in stores, it doesn't make them "hidden gems". There's a lot or revisionist history on TH-cam for the sake of click baits and/or trying to manipulate pricing in the used market in exchange for payed information via Patreon promoted by certain gaming channels (to be clear, not yours), and it's unfortunately misinforming the younger audience into buying games that they think are "rare" when in fact they're not.
@@arioca I get that. Fortunately our small channel will have no impact on the market. We are getting tons of feedback in the comments from folks learning of many of these for the first time. Which is the whole point. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid its only right, you put me on to The Red Star. Super hyped about R-Type Final 2 comin out next year, keep up the awesome content fellas!
Myself I like rpg's like final fantasy 12 I also found interesting stuff myself like g-force playing as a 007 as a guinipig is cute but creepy because of all the toasters blenders and everything else seems to come to life on a rampage and it's your job to stop them that's the crazy part of the game and I like it because just crazy enough to enjoy I also found whiplash another crazy game but so stupid it's funny in a good way then I found spinx and the cursed mummy now that's also has some funny parts to it I like the updated version of king's field because they made it analog friendly this time if you look closely at the ps2 library who knows you may find some special games yourself you could enjoy🤔
Whoops, we already did a part 2 :). Damn this was a long time ago. I can't even remember the games that were on the list lol. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

At least you must have more reserved optical pick up Lens on your ps2,Like my psOne small.I own 4 of it,And 4 back up pick up Lenses. All of them are used.In ps2 I own 4 also as of now 2020,All of them are slim models,1 brand new moded,1 used moded and 2 used umoded. And I have only 1 reserved lens..The pick up block lens is not the hidden gem.But the very most essential, With out it?You would never enjoy your games. And the Unit is useless Ps2 slim model pick up block lens are easy to remove compare to the FAT model that I don't own. My suggestion guys start buying used,Slighttly used units,Even though it's broken,Bought it cheap,it's the Lens your after,Study how to remove the pick up block,And how to install it to another unit like a Heart transplant,if you want your collected games to be played longer that your units lifespan. If you Love your ps2 console so much,Must have a reserved Lens,Because the pick up block's Objective Lens witch is the Blue Lens that you see is only made of plastic.Due to long used of your Unit that blue objective lens will fade it's color due to constant beaming of Red Laser,That comes from Photo diode going thru the blue Objective Lens,Strikes the Game Disc,Then the reflected beam from the disc read data goes back again and to the objective lens and goes to the Photo detector to detect your Game then to the PS2 RAM and that's it. I wish Someone invented the DVD Objective Lens of the PS2 made it to a Glass not plastic. If it's made out of Glass? The Unit can Read 4times longer than the plastic ones. It's a business strategy. That the pick up objective Lens will wear out someday and the whole pickup block assembly is been replaced.Hope this help guys. In 20th birthday of the ps2 that I have my first unit is only in 2013.Only 7 years that I experience having 1,I shouldn't have waited so long for the mark down price of that Console.I miss a lot of Games,Because back then I can't afford a PS2 Fat then the Slim arrived the price still high,Then came this moded HardDisc ,So the Retailers didn't drop the price. So I own only few used games of the PS2. Maybe I will rely on Emulation once I own a Laptop or Highend Android device. And knowing the hidden gems of the 20 year old PS2
Have never replaced one of those. We have a buddy who just recently did though. We'll have to pick a couple up for if we have a PS2 go down. Thanks for the info. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid you can discover and learn more when you replace a pick block lens of the PS2. I am using some pirated copy Disc of the ps2 games,The Pits witch is the burn on the Copied Disc of the Game is slightly burn compare to the Original and Authentic Game. The result is?A slightly defect on the objective lens will fail to read a pirate copy.So i need to hunt for a better pick up block lens,However? If you used Authentic Game Disc on a slightly defect objective lens?It will still work good. But soon it will fail to read Authentic games aswell someday,Like the lenses in your eyes for example,As you go old your vision blurs. Similar to the manufactured pick up block that the objective lens is just made out of plastic,Very disappointing and inevitable. So Copied Games are better to used for testing pick up lens on ps1,psx and ps2. Of course you need your unit mod,To be able to read pirated games and can still read Authentic Games. But the Downside of moded PS2 unit as I experience is the backwards compatibility is disabled. So it can't read PS1 Games anymore There is a temporary remedy on the pick up block lens,There is a two trimmer's underneath the pick up block assembly 1 say's DVD and 1 CD,You can turn the trimmer slightly to the right using a very tiny flat screw driver. The purpose of that is to increase the Laser emission, To be able to read the Disc. But I remind you its only temporary,Eventually the plastic objective lens will inevitably fade it's blueish color and it will fail to Read Disc again after you adjust the Laser emission of the pick up block.Replacing pick up block is still the best option

Damn dude should've went with the next size up with that playstation shirt.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to afford new clothes since the incident......
Y'all show pacmancase's channel some love. Hes a really good dude with great production value.
Oh yes! We were so glad to have him apart of this collab. His channel is badass indeed. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Cheers!
Ima check out that kinetica.
It's a fun one for sure. We recently grabbed a copy as well. Cheers!
No one talks about Amplitude. Please check this out, super sick music game.
Never played that one. We've heard tons of good things about it though. Gonna have to track down a copy :). Thanks for watching.
Happiness!
Thanks a ton for joining us man! Much love! Happinessssss!!!!
invite me for part 2 ! 😂
Whoops, we already did a part 2 :). Damn this was a long time ago. I can't even remember the games that were on the list lol. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

Man, we have never played that one. We'll have to keep our eyes out for it. Cheers!
You can get it on ps4 but man I gotta say it is a great gem not sure how "hidden" but it was an amazing game story gameplay battle system all unique and we'll amazing lol
the ps2 has had a lot of games hide and games that have ever been made and sold in public against its super rare now to have a ps2 and lots of games from the ps2 the ps2 has had a lot of games hide and games that have ever been made and sold in public against its super rare now to have a ps2 and a lot of games from the ps2
Very interesting. We aren't aware of the underground scene for the PS2. Would be cool to check some of that stuff out. Cheers to the PS2!
And the Unit is useless
Ps2 slim model pick up block lens are easy to remove compare to the FAT model that I don't own.
So it can't read PS1 Games anymore
There is a temporary remedy on the pick up block lens,There is a two trimmer's underneath the pick up block assembly 1 say's DVD and 1 CD,You can turn the trimmer slightly to the right using a very tiny flat screw driver.
