We’re getting ready to stop the trafficking of children. How awesome for this problem to finally reach mainstream consciousness!! How blessed am I to witness this exposure so long awaited. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!! 💕
Just to give some clarity regarding box office results, both Box Office mojo and The Numbers list on July 4th that Sound of Freedom was #1 with 14.2 million, with Indiana Jones at #2 bringing in 11.7 million dollars. Sound of Freedom was also the #1 movie both on Monday and Tuesday (July 10th and 11th) of this week. I saw it a week ago and am encouraging everyone I know to see it! So well done! I intercede so much more now for the children who are enslaved, their sellers, and the buyers. Lord, have mercy on us and on the whole world!
Finally going tonight with my wife! The mother-in-law pulled through and said she'd watch the kids. Our showing time and the time before us is already mostly full.
My mother mentioned this to me today. Eduardo Verastegui had an interview with a hispanic priest where he mentioned how close to 200 children were saved during the filming of the movie. How amazing is that! They were able to save so many lives during the time of filming.
Cinematically, Sound of Freedom is crafted with impeccable skill and verve by director Alejandro Monteverde. Every shot is deftly designed to evoke more than is actually shown. The editing choices are sublime in their subtle slow burn sway to unnerve, rivet, and move. The movie makes profound use of restrained silence and stillness to tactfully overcome its hedious subject matter with a sense of looming grace. The performances across the board feel convicted and immediate. Jim Caviezel and Bill Camp respectively put on award worthy clinics in earnest stoicism and charismatic bluster, with very compelling rapport and repartee in their scenes together as unlikely partners in justice. Eduardo Verastegui also contributes a solid presence to the rescue mission as its naive but committed primary sponsor - whose character unintentionally provides one much needed moment of laugh out loud levity as a respite at just the right time to break up the heaviness of the drama before it becomes too overbearing. The two child actors playing brother and sister are particularly exceptional in conveying authentic raw innocence and emotion - if by the end they don't cause your empathies to stir and tears to swell, then seek serious help at once. The music score by Javier Navarrete and soundtrack song choices (especially a quietly impactful old Shakira tune accompanying the final bookend shot) perfectly complement to move the heart of the drama along with propulsive urgency and delicate tenderness. The on-set lighting and camera framing by cinematographer Gorka Gomez Andreu are all precisely intentioned and deliberately nuanced for maximum psychological impact through suggestion of the unseen, while looking appropriately polished for prestige. The plot themes are obviously dark but infused with a priority of humane healing in righteous rays of light to galvanize hope and bolster vigilant courage - beckoning every viewer to be a beacon to the vulnerable and act upon their conscience with equipped judgement and a poised spirit that can endure as a formidable fortress, a redemptive refuge, and a sovereign sanctuary - stewarding, shepherding, and serving to strengthen in the face of horrific circumstances. That's not nothing. Far from it. Sound of Freedom is the most relevant, affecting, and vitally required film to be produced in a very very long time. Possibly even ever. It merits all the success it can manage while exposing the evil we must contend for deliverance from by overtly contesting at every interval. This story escavates and eviscerates the wicked seducer's insidious ingunity of diversionary chaos and deceptive confusion by searing its annointed light into every crack, corner, crevice, and crease were vile vices would vie to lurk and linger their festering detriments of depravity and decay. Go see about it and then be about it.
@@jefffinkbonner9551 Well you're the one then, lol. My wordsmithing usually elicits cantankerous complaints and presumptive defamations about incoherently pretentious pomposities and snarled citations of word-salad. A lot of people get easily irked when subjected to more than the usual 500 words they're accustomed to seeing copy/pasted in lieu of any organic autonomy in rationalized sentience where precise terms are deliberately chosen to curate a definitive design of determinations. I suppose these most vocal protesters of extensive English language resent an erudite lexicon or something. In the same respect as "if you don't use it, you'll lose it", I contend that "if they won't entertain it, they'll never gain it"... At any rate, it's rare that someone says anything complimentary when surly snide snark and sarcastic smirking emojis are such an easily excessable alternative. So thanks, sincerely.

Spot on criticism of those throwing stones at this heartbreaking film that's bringing these heinous crimes against humanity to light. Anyone who wants to keep children & young women safe need to see this to understand how it happens & what's at stake. God bless all who brought Sound of Freedom to the big screen & praying for its future success in USA & with worldwide release.
I loved this lady! She sounds like some of my peers in the 90's - so I get her. I wish her the best, and truly enjoyed the full chat, paused, played, paused, played throughout the live feed, in between lunch, work, tea, and feet up. Thanks 4:45 ! 😊
The sad thing is what ever this movie makes monetarily, it is dwarfed by what children sex trafficking has made over the years but if we puts an end to sex trafficking it is more than worth it.
Quite well made for a low budget indie project. The dialogue is occasionally a bit on-the-nose, some plot developments feel very dramatized/embellished, and there are a few moments where you can definitely tell that they didn't have oodles of money to spend on big set pieces. But they definitely spent the resources that they had very wisely. Worth a see.
There's no grading on a budget curve when it comes to box office numbers - Sound of Freedom flat out whipped Indiana Jones on the 4th of July in a straight up face off dispite being in about half the number theaters. That means Sound of Freedom more than doubled Indiana Jones by per screen attendence. Now yes, Indiana Jones came out 4 days prior and did more business on its initial weekend (Sound of Freedom was released on Tuesday the 4th). The Pay it Forward compaign doesn't automatically add on to the box office either. To be counted people had to apply on Angel's website to claim for themselves an already paid in full premium price ticket and physically have it scanned at their box office before entering to actually watch the film. Insidious: The Red Door had itself a nice opening weekend (again getting a wider release than Sound of Freedom). But come Monday, Sound of Freedom kept going and retook the number one spot. Safe to assume it won Tuesday the 11th of July handedly too. Today, July 12th I went to see Sound of Freedom for a second time at a 1:30pm showing and it was sold out and still got two sober ovations at the end. After that I went to see Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning at 4pm (this is its opening day of release) - it was in a smaller theater than Sound of Freedom (whose 1:30pm showing I went to was in one of the Cineplex's larger venues) and Mission Impossible only had maybe at most a dozen people in attendance for its premier day (but of course they do have more auditoriums and showtimes than Sound of Freedom). Point is Sound of Freedom is still going very strong 8 days into its release now, still selling out its showings, it's a juggernaut and most deservedly so.
Genuinely i was so impressed by the maturity of the acting by the 2 main children. The expressions conveyed by their faces were so emotive and powerful. Hopefully they remain mentally and spiritually healthy and innocent after such a heavy story.
The fact that this is a Latino film--written, directed, produced, starring--everyone except Tim and his wife and his boss and Vampiro are Hispanic--yet there are crickets from the woke media about it goes to show how much of a circus the MSM really is. We have been having “representation “ and “cultural diversity “ shouted at us since the pandemic yet here is a masterpiece from the Latino community crying for awareness about a problem we all suffer from and it is crickets.
The leftwing media don’t actually care about that. They use diversity and racism as cudgels to bully their opponents into submission. Everything must support their narrative. They’re liars who defend child sex trafficking. They’re not good people.
My husband and I went to see it last week and the theater was almost full, we had to sit on the very front row. It’s a hard movie to stomach of course, but it was a good movie! So worth going to see!!
People are most definitely downplaying sex trafficking. And a lot are even claiming that its all a conspiracy theory. I was shocked recently when I brought this film up recently to a group of people and most of them immediately started to run interference and attack the film makers, the star of the film and even tried to discredit Tim ballard. I could not believe it, I honestly thought that this was one thing that could unite people but what I saw has shown me that the devil does not want this movie out there, and those trying to attack it and discredit it are, without their even knowing, working for the devil. He has them under his control and they have no clue
Sound of Freedom is such an important film. If only it came out to help the children being put into cages at the boarder. The abuse against children is endless! Every Catholic should see this movie.T he GOP must be held accountable for their crimes.
Sound of Freedom is the BEST movie I’ve seen in years and years and years. The negative criticism they are CONSUMERS themselves. They are users of that horror.
A beautiful film portraying a difficult, painful, heart wrenching subject, but also sharing the story with so much care so as to not objectify the child actors. Thank God the producers respected the dignity of the child actors while still being able to relay the horror of child trafficking.
Loved it. Not overacted. The low budget looked like a breath of fresh air, mitigated by nice lighting. Cons: as an action movie, could have made some scenes more tense
The Sound of Freedom is an unprecedented movie - dealing with an issue that is so widespread (sex slavery) it dwarfs the slavery of the past, and so misunderstood that most people don't even know it is a real problem. Being a Christian film that has to do with modern problems - and not Biblical portrayals - it's success is without equal. Once this film goes worldwide - it is only going to grow even more - until ALL moral people are openly wanting to hold the monsters who perpetuate this horrible crime accountable.
I dont understand trying to down play child trafficking, whether its 1000 a children or 100,000 or a 1 million, how can we not do everything we can to put a complete stop to it?!
