For anyone that needs it, here are the characters on the trip: • Vicky & Daniel & their twins • Jonathan (vickys brother) & Rachel (younger girlfriend) & Darcey (Jonathan & Fiona’s daughter) • Paddy (Vicky’s ‘ex’) & Amira • Fiona (Vicky’s best friend, single, Jonathan’s ex, Darcey’s mum) • Louise (single, only recently moved back from working abroad, previously close friends with Vicky)
Very hard to keep track of all the characters as none of them are given v obviously different traits or descriptions. The two middle class couples particularly, I kept getting confused.

I really like this author but, unfortunately, even after eight attempts right from the beginning, it was just too confusing to follow. So many people all at once but none with any outstanding characteristic you can hang onto and identify them or their storyline. I feel sad abandoning what might be a good book in the end but life is too short....😞
Well, I’m only a short way into this and I do love this author so I will persist in. The narrator is great. However, at this point there are so many characters that it’s painful to try and keep track of who’s who.
The first 10 min I had to start a spreadsheet just to keep track on the names and their relation to the other characters 🤣 Now I'm an hour and a half in and loving the suspense so far!!!!
I’m glad it’s not just me… 42 minutes in and I’m giving up because I can’t keep up with the characters and the changing perspectives. This is where multiple narrators, with noticeably different voices would be especially helpful. Too bad, since I have enjoyed other books from this author!
