Just purchased 2. I love gardening outdoors but have issues with raccoons and cats in my neighborhood so going back to indoor. But my challenge with indoor is that I forget about watering them so this will hopefully make it easier for me to grow consistently and for my spouse to water if I forget. Thank you for creating these and for this very straight-forward video. Definitely one of the most informative videos with most pros and cons that people encounter but in a
I am not a part of the twitch generation. Can you make a version of this without the dual screen? This kind of video destroys focus in long term. But I really want to learn this. The left side video needs it own space, like this it hinders rather than helps.
Thx Mike. I just recieved a pair of these from you and am growing my 2 cycle of microgreens. They make growing greens super easy and almost no work at all. I've been growing for about 12 years, mostly for home consumption. I grow kale, broccoli, red radish, cabbage and sunflower greens. I tried biomaterial and silicone but I like hydroton best. I'll be trying the sand soon. Thanks for the content.
I've been using Perlite as a growing media with good results. It's lite, easier to clean than clay pebbles. The drawback is the Perlite breaks down to a powder after a while.
Hey, I've got a couple of questions for you! 1. Where did you get the lidded plastic containers you're using in this video? 2. I'm really excited about using sand (it's cheap and *much* easier to clean!), but in another video you mentioned a problem with sand that I'm definitely experiencing: the water wicks all the way up to the surface of the sand, so it's *very* wet no matter how high you pile it. In that video, you mentioned poking a hole in the side of your container and that that would stop the water from rising so high. Is that how you're handling the wicking issue? Or have you found another solution you like better? I'd love more info on how to handle this! Thanks for experimenting and sharing your results with all of us -- I really appreciate it!
The adapters are in the description of the video, my Etsy store. Yes, I made a few holes about an inch up from the bottom and placed the container on a tray to catch any overflow that dripped out.
Instead of using a glass water reservoir and a adapter could you use a terra cotta “olla” in tandem with clay pebbles. Does anyone have experience with a plastic free micro green set up?
Unfortunately I can't order that for Portugal, but it is a very good idea! By the way, do you use the same amount of the masterblend formula for the microgreens as you use for growing leafy greens? Thks
Any time you use a growing medium you collected yourself from outdoors, especially a damp location like a riverbank, you need to sterilize it. It will be full of pathogens, parasites and unwanted organic matter like animal waste. With plants you're also going to eat it's twice as important.

Thank you Shelley! I am glad they are working out for you!

So cool! definitely going to buy one, would love to see a largemouth mason jar version. Thank you for this information.
I just bought an adapter and I don't know what the hell to do with it. I have a big bag of broccoli seeds. Very happy to see this video.
There will be a card in the adapter with a qr code to the first video showing me setting it up.
you the man, Mike!
Awesome stuff Mike what a great product
Thank you Marty!

Yes, I was letting mine dry in the sun a few days and forgot them when we had a storm, lol, perlite everywhere.
Best content on the internet 🎉

Thank you. Having fun with them.
Phenomenal content.
Thanks for the info Mike! Where did you purchase the green container?
The Dollar Tree. I don't think they make the green anymore, I have seen other colors.
Thanks!

Give it a try. I am just showing people with easy to find items.
@ love it, new subscriber here! 👍

I do, yes, but a lot of people also go with half strength.
Would you know if well water that has a high mineral content and light sulfur will be a problem when growing micro greens ?
I started my channel on well water
Any kind of sand? I have river/cheek sand from the bank.
You can try. I used play sand.

Can you just use a bucket and a cotton string if you are poor :)
There are many ways to do things. Just experiment.
