- Bad News Brown (aka Bad News Allen, Allen Coage) is one of the toughest pro wrestlers of all time. Bad News won a bronze medal for Judo in the 1976 Olympics before later emerging as a professional wrestler.
Before competing for Vince McMahon in WWF, Bad News Allen competed around the world in Japan, Canada and other countries.

From Inoki and New Japan to the Hart Family in Stampede, Allen Coage has seen it all. We go into the infamous match vs a half black body painted Roddy Piper at WrestleMania VI and more controversies throughout his WWF stay.
Allen travels through the back pages of his career and goes into vivid detail about everything, including how Cowboy Bob Orton was almost murdered in Japan. Plus, the story about Andre losing his bowels in the ring.
Bad News lives up to his gimmick as guys like Roddy Piper, Dusty Rhodes and Dr. D David Shultz are buried in a manner that is nothing less than shocking. You want Bret Hart, Dynamite Kid, and Davey Boy Smith stories from their development in Stampede to their rise in the WWE, you got em here!
This is a great look back at the “decade of decadence” as Bad News made his name in three historic promotions during this time. You’ll get all the dirt on New Japan, Stampede and the then-WWF. All of the icons of the ’80s are talked about on here, and Bad News doesnt hold back!
For fans of Stampede pro wrestling, and for fans of early New Japan, this shoot gives it all in telling stories. Hear about an incident between Bad News and the legendary Andre the Giant which almost resulted in legit fight over Andre’s dropping the “N” bomb.

The best rf shoot. I love how he starts off being reserved and slowly gets comfortable and his true personality comes out
Everything he says sounds so legitimate. He just comes across as a really straight shooter. I wish we had more shoots from him.
This is how it's done. Prepared interviewer and an engaged storyteller shooting us straight. RIP Bad News
Never liked Bad News as a kid, but after you get older, learn it's a work see some of the shoot interviews, learn about these guys, you gain a new respect. Bad News was a national champion, Olympian, WWF superstar, great heel, should have been.pushed more
Not for nothing he seems like a real gentleman good guy which is VERY rare in wrestling !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP
holes in stories
Rest In Peace: Bad News!
You left us far too soon..
It’s amazing how great he is. He really made you hate him as a heel in the wwf when in reality he’s actually an elegant gentleman.
That’s how it is a lot of the time
I lived right beside Allen as a little boy
Have any of his merch from his wwf times?
A real down to earth dude!! RIP BAD NEWS!
He was and I have a funny story about him !
Bad News was a cool cat. An authentic life. He's missed.
One of the best shoot interviews I've ever seen. What a nice guy.
I know ain't it sad that bad news is no longer here, and selfish evil guys like Hogan is still able to walk the earth!!
This may have been the best shoot that I've seen. Really good interview. Miss you "Bad News".
Outstanding how this man articulated the Japanese experience so well. It's crazy how much influence he had behind the scenes yet he got so little press. He did MMA too & I know he beat Sakuraba twice. I wish he would have detailed what it was like fighting kiyoshi tamura.
Thank you so much for uploading the full interview,so intriguing and brilliant to listen to.
So sad that bad news isn’t around anymore he would be such a hit at conventions,I could listen to him all day.
As a kid I hated him but in my later years I have come to realise just how brilliant he was at portraying the character.
Bad News had one of the kindest hearts in the business. A real stand up guy anybody would love to have as a friend.
Bad News Brown - Superb storyteller.
Best interview I heard by far from you guys!
RIP bad news. Amazing shoot, bad news died 2 months before the Benoit tragedies. As mentioned here he was an integral part of Benoits career
Bad New's Dusty Rhodes imitation sounds like when Eddie Murphy does a grandmother voice lol
I used to love to watch this man put the boots to all the beer-bellied sharecroppers he would get in the ring with.
Always loved that bit
Spineless cockroaches lol
I loved the Ghetto Blaster as a finisher. RIP Bad News
I use to like that move too. I practiced it until I could do it like him.
💯
Couldn't get away with an "insensitive" name like ghetto blaster. There is an element in today's society that would consider it insensitive, Trump like, and racist. A sign of the times, for sure.@@craiganbrooks1485
Bad News was a legend and he certainly knew what the Harts were really like.
This was recorded in 2005 and he sadly died in early 2007 at only 63.
That means he was 61 when this was recordered. He looks like 40 years old here.
The Top American Judoka in HISTORY. What a MAN'S MAN!! 💪🏾💪🏾🏅🏅🥉🏆 Punked ANDRE THE F'n GIANT!!!!
Andre would have respected him for doing that also. Both great men.
What was Andre doing saying that stuff? I thought he was close with Rocky Johnson in Hawaii. Maybe he was just drunk.
What a lovely honest bloke,, comes across so genuine,, sadly departed way to young ,Rip bad news
What a great guy, wish I got to know him. (Had a feeling he was good people).
Vince should have treated him better......
Bad News would have been 80 years old now in 2024. R.I.P Bad News Brown.
Ty bro! Unreal. 🎉 never knew. Heard bout ya..: but never put it together.
Wow
Hell ty for this time from all y’all
Maybe the best shoot of all time.
So many fire stories. Incredible insight
Wow, I never knew he was an Olympic medalist. Super impressive.
Impressive. I don't think being promoted to multiple belts should be allowed just from tournament competitions. I'm very confident I could compete in a white belt karate and beat everyone or even a Judo or boxing but that doesn't make me a high level martial artist or golden gloves. It just means I understand the martial part better than the artistic part of the style/s.
On a somewhat related note, I just looked-up and the daughter of Smith Hart who he was talking about died just 2 years ago (no cause of death mentioned) and he himself died on her 22nd Birth-Day and she died almost 15 years later to the day of. Crazy.
Also since he mentioned Wim Ruska, I guess that’s another WWE lie (if they ever said it). Kurt Angle was not the first Olympic Gold-Medalist in wrestling.
Those Hart boys just could not stand the thought of losing in Canada could they. I think Owen gets a pass for a lot of his bad behavior because of what ultimately happened to him. Don’t get me wrong, I always liked him but he could be a spoiled little prick. Ask Steve Austin about him
What year was this originally done? This guy is an impressive individual. Shame he’s not around. RIP Bad News
Bad news brown ,,I hated you in the 80s wrestling and listening to you now I really really like you. You did your job well getting heat cause your a seemingly super nice person
What a really great Interview with Bad News, he would’ve been a Storyteller on a Podcast. 🙏 #RIP !
Could listen to this guy all day
This was great, one of the real tough guys in pro wrestling. RIP bad news!
I could have seen him as a member of the Nation of Domination. Bad News was legit and a badass.
Bad News was a legit bad ass, but seems like he kept it in check for the most part. That WWE locker room around 1988-1990 was probably the most bad ass locker room in wrestling history. Bad News, Haku, Andre, Race, Barbarian, Dynamite Kid, Rick Rude, Hercules, Koko, and Jim Duggan. I probably missed a few guys, but damn id take these guys over the current locker room in a street fight any day.
He and Dynamite had some great rivalries here in Stampede wrestling years before they both graduated to wwf
Did Bad News ever fight anybody or just run his mouth like he was going? Usually guys like that aren’t half as bad as they think they are. I know karate lol
There was never a WWE locker room in the years of 1988-1990! Get it right guy!
@@Spooky_515 he did earn a bronze medal in Judo at the 1976 Olympics. So I'd assume he could back it up. But you're right for the most part, most of the guys weren't trained in anything else but how to be a pro wrestler.
This is easily the greatest shoot interview I’ve ever seen,Brown is the real deal he doesn’t bite his tongue 👅 at all like most wrestlers do and I’ve learned more about the corrupted business from this interview than ever before,Rest in paradise Bad News Brown he was an amazing man
BAD. NEWS. BROWN. A. TRUE. BLACK. CHAMPION
Bad News Brown was a good story teller
Bad News was 43-46 when he wrestled for the WWF and he was 61 or 62 here. That dude always looked so much younger than his age.
Black don’t crack.
I loved this shoot and I can firmly believe he offered out Andre
And unfortunately he died 2 years after this
Great interview!!!!!!
Hogan thought a brother was gonna shoot the bus up
God the original stone cold
I don't think so. 😂
Its not your time..that is why..🤣🤣🤣
@@MurhsiziJessica The badass babyface has been an old trope in wrestling going back decades, long before Bad News came along. 🤣
Yea yea right... 🤪🤪🤪
@@jonathanturbide2232 And Bruiser and Crusher before him.
Of course, Schultz was never a babyface, and News was for like a month, so it's not at all the same thing.
One of my 5 favorite RFVideo shoots I triple love rewatching & owned for years.
always great to hear from someone sane that was in the wrestling business, they always have the best perspective
What an awesome video the brusier questions the interviewer went to fast bc you can see he was choked up real interview
Bad News 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👊🏾💯
this guy was great . too bad he wasn't around the WWE in the mid late 90's.
died to soon RIP, YOUR WWF MATCHES WERE AMAZING!!!
Wrestling never had or has enough black wrestlers.
🎻😢 oh the struggle
I was watching this video and at 32:12 I swear you can hear an evp saying "Gabby" as Bad News Brown is talking. By the way an evp is considered a ghost talking out loud. Please check it out at 32:12 in the video.
listened to it. sent a chill up my spine good catch
Bad News talking all tough about Andre! Andre would have killed him
Even if Andre would have killed him it doesn't take away the fact that he wasn't afraid of him.
Naw... He would have had a field day with Andre
@@eugenedantzler4485 I agree
Andre was big, clumsy, and slow…bad news is a legitimate trained fighter. Would’ve beat Andre’s a$$! Andre is so overrated at everything!
Really enjoyed this interview! Growing up I knew of Bad News, but never saw much of him. Now I want to go and watch some of his matches.
It's amazing how much he talked about Benoit and how he helped him along the way. A shame bad news died months before benoit.
He passed only 3 months before Chris Benoit. I wonder if The Crippler knew about Bad News passing away??
Mr. Allen Coage (a.k.a. Bad News Brown) passed away in Calgary, Canada in 2007 at the age of 63.
Classic interview. I hope they upload the two Sid Eudy talks one day. I would just pay but RFVideo doesn't have a PayPal option.
100%. Also, we have all the shoots available on TitleMatchNetwork.com - all credit cards & PayPal accepted
Who else notices the resemblance between Bad News Brown and Bobby McFerrin?
Funny him talking bout the Russian being tough all these years later u see the talent with the Russians
I think this'll be favorite of mine and what an entertaining individual
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I bet alot of people were shocked about allen & how he wrestling
Great interview!
Dang I wish there were every black male was like this. Allen couge should be acknowledged in a way.

Bad News Allen not Brown
What year was this interview?
2005 it's on screen in the beginning
@@TitleMatchWrestling thanks. Didn’t catch it or I wouldn’t have asked
@@javier77th And he died in early 2007, so this wasn't long before he died.
@@Danimal77 yea. Sad. He seemed like he was enjoying his life.
Not that long ago 2005 or so
How are you ilove you tow
This guy is full of crap. He said he checked Brody for Inoki. He told Brody that they paid him and this and that so what’s your problem and Brody said yeah your right. GTFOH I bet he handled Haku in his WWE days as well lmao
Allen would have destroyed Brody in a shoot
How are you
Doing alright. How are you Lamar?

Glad he is gone.
Smh
49:17 Tommy, Stay away from the drugs.
Dude started in the '70s, talks with less of a blackccent than black wrestlers today
