Sounds like a lot of word soup. I agree with the cue card comment and he didn’t do much to explain what it is beside zoom/magnification. Mr. Tommy, several questions I am sure folks want answered are these: If Leupold wants to charge me $500-$1,000 more for a 5HD than a 3HD, exactly what I am getting for the extra cash? Just magnification? Nope. Some 3HDs have that? A 30mm tube? Nope, some 3HDs have that as well. Lighted reticle? Nope, some 3HDs have that as well. Zero stop on the turret? Nope, some 3HDs have that as well. I can keep going but that’s a start. Thank you.
Just an opinion, but a VX four would be nicer for me. I don’t need a 3 to 15 but a 3 to 12 would be awesome and I want more than a 3 to 9. Plus if you could drop it by two or $300 that would be great.
I have both. I have vx3hd in 4-14x40 And vx5hd in 3-15x44 And they are chalk and cheese in optical quality, the vx5 exceeds the vx3 in every way, the vx3 is still a very nice scope.
I have a VX3HD and I love the throw lever on the magnification ring, but the ring itself is needlessly too thick and bottoms out on most scope bases. I end up having to mount the scope too far back or with unnessecarily high rings. Please slim down the zoom ring.

The Leupold guy has no idea, he's only reading off a screen.

A talking head reading off a cue card doesn't inspire confidence.
