Amy smiles as Doug digs himself out of his own demise! Doug is a GENUINE farm BOY! Falls asleep and down the ditch because you had to farm late and were too tired to be out late! BT,DT!!!
So many comments you folks say I can relate to as things were very similar in my life. Even the story Doug told of courting Amy and falling asleep and going in the ditch! I did the exact same thing and survived. Happened in the winter and a trucker pulled me out of the ditch after my dad came to help. Somebody was looking out for us! Take care and yes, as we age roofs aren't a good place.

Dougo struggle bus is real.
It is.
As we age, and especially being in the 50's, adds to the struggle bus. The memory isn't quite so good, the body is fighting ya, and the list of thing's to do before winter is close behind. Amy and Doug are a comical pair, they always have something going on that needs tending to.

That flashing is proper. It could use a few face nails with silicone over them, to hold it down. Otherwise your roof looks completely fine.

There is nothing better than words of wisdom from Dogo. And the eye roll from Amy. Yes the installed the flashing correct maybe put some black jack caulk under the flashing to hold the flashing down but not nails thru it
Just pound a wood post or metal one in the open yard somewhere and mount your unit problem solved lol.

Weather station should be on top a short pole so the collection bowl for rain and wind direction and so on has a 360 degree view and also set away from building and trees blocking the weather. Love your channel Amy and Dougo (All the way from South Africa)

A lot of people say to stay off the roof, but that's how you assess any leaves or debris that needs to go, but also any damage can be seen and dealt with. If one is careful, and doesn't take unnecessary risks, they will be okay. G-d bless.

Doug’s late night ride was one thing I tried to avoid when dating my wife. After hearing my brother tell about coming off a bridge on a curve and flying through a corn field and right back up on the road l decided to always take a nap before heading home.

this is so weird my oldest son bought the same weather station 1 year ago and it works perfect.
For the solar to recharge the batters in the weather station the must be recharged batteries.
It's a bug that chew around the limb witch will die & fall off a clean break .
What happens when the wind , rain , sun , and other things comes from the wrong direction ?
Doug on the roof reminded me of my dad. He wanted to cut the limbs off a huge oak tree, which were hanging out over the house.
Mom caught him up there when she heard the chainsaw running. He had pulled the ladder up to the roof and leaned the ladder from the roof to the tree. The plan was to climb the ladder and cut those limbs off.
Holy cow, mom put a stop to that plan immediately. Thank the Lord.
Of course, dad didn't see any problem. He truly thought he had a good idea.
Dougo deepest sympathy to no more Dodge Ram, Chrysler and Jeeps 😢😢😢😢😢😢 sorry lost vehicles you, Amy and Chet . Dougo switch to other brands.

Good grief, those batteries in the weather station should be lithium ion, instead of regular alkaline, as they don't freeze. And you replace them once a year.

Just wondering. Shouldnt the weather sensor be mounted on the top of the pole. Just thinking the surface of the pole will mess up the wind and water measurement, coming from the blocking direction? 🙂
