The more I see of this game, the more I likely I think it is that the devs found out the release date the same time that the fans did, just because some parts have so much more effort put into them than others.
I feel so bad for the dev team, they were shit over on this by sega. Pretty much amongst other things they made the game for other consoles and then sega told them it’s a wii u exclusive very late into development so they couldn’t do anything about the frame rate, didn’t have time to iron out any bugs and were pretty much shut down afterwards
@@DolusVulpes No, the dev team for Boom WiiU was BigRedButton and the devs for the 3DS one was Sanzaru Games, neither game had an impact on the quality of the other

They were making it for the Xbone and PS4, only to be told at the 11th hour "Oh, this is a Wii U game now btw". The fact that the game boots at all is a combination of blood, swear and tears from both BigRedButton AND Crytek to make a Wii U-viable version of their engine, and a divine blessing from God himself.

6:50 iirc a lot of the big stuff was it took a long time to decide on character designs and story because Sega was being bitchy, when they finally did decide on a story it had to be rewritten halfway through or so because Sega struck a deal to make a cartoon based on Boom and wanted the game to be more in line with the show, and lastly while they're reworking the story as well as finishing the game as a whole they were told a few months before release it was gonna be a WiiU exclusive, they've been making it under the assumption it would be on PC and the big boy consoles not WiiU so they had to find/make a working game engine so it could run on WiiU What happened to this game is downright a travesty, they started the project as a whole around the time Generations came out if I'm not mistaken, the version of the game that released was made in 8 months or less
People who complain about framerate issues are the same people who would say there is 2 grams too much salt on this naturally salty steak. Seriously. Frames do not matter as long as they don't go below the amount required to process what is going on. I play most games at 25~ frames and I'm doing *just* fine.

I find it interesting that this game could have been the best Sonic game we have to exist, if only the dev team didn't get screwed over.
