5:03 Although it may be Logarithmic, it will still be noticably louder. Although it will take exponentially more projectiles to raise the loudness by the same amount, logarithms approach infinity regardless. This can be proven because the inverse function, (e^x or base a, a^x), has a domain of (-∞,∞) and a range of (0,∞). With an inverse function, the domain and range is swapped. This tells us that the range of logarithmic equations is (0,∞), meaning that it will aproach infinity in loudness. This means that from 100 to 1000 projectiles (assuming log base 10, which is unlikely), it will have increased by 1 unit (or multiplied by the coeficient associated with the equation.) Pretty much useless knowledge, but that is why the loudness increased by 1000 projectiles. Because the projectiles is still at a relatively low number(100-1000), a large increase will still be noticable, especially with lower bases.
you're correct, decibel (or, more specifically) bel, is in fact in base 10, with every unit increase being 10x the energy, although human hearing perceives it only to be twice as loud, so from 100 to 1000 projectiles, *assuming* that the sound produced is in fact 10 times louder in absolute terms, it would at most be felt as twice as loud by us (not counting that the sound it makes is higher pitched so it feels ever louder), but you also have to factor in audio compression, clipping and even the lag caused by the projectiles.
Minor typo, you repeated the range of exponential functions for logarithmic functions, i.e. (0, inf.). Which is not that important since it approaches infinity regardless.
I remember when terraria first released on consoles (Xbox) and the magic missile actually crashed/disconnected people’s games in multiplayer if I used it as the host. Now it’s one of the loudest weapons? I CAN BELIEVE IT. Xd
I don’t remember if it was Xbox or mobile, but I remember there was a glitch where the magic missile would auto shoot so you could stack projectiles on the cursor just like he’s doing with the teleporters, but anywhere. That sound gave me a flashback.

4:54 Well, a logarithmic scale doesn't mean it won't become any louder, just that the difference won't be as obvious the further you go as log basically weighs the datapoints based on their percentage value of the whole. Meaning the more missiles you got, the less impactful each one is because each new one is a smaller and smaller percentage of the whole. For linear scales, each missile would be adding the same loudness regardless of how many there already are. Hope that makes sense as a basic explanation.
0:50 Lmao, this is my alarm sound. It gets higher and higher pitched until it literally hurts. I need that to wake up because sounds really don't wake me up well at all. I highly recommend everyone check their sound settings, as I believe Windows 10 and 11 should have a sound limiter there (I actually used the equalizer to max out every frequency. That somehow worked like a limiter, as the too loud sounds just cut off and quiet sounds were loud enough to hear :D)! I mainly used this to be able to hear quiet sounds in games with a lot of other noise (like TF2). But it also saves your ears sometimes (though there is still sounds that can hurt you, as these software do it in dB) Btw I had switched to Linux Mint after W11 came out, so I can't be sure if it exist in W11. Now I use PulseEffects as it has a limiter function. Interestingly seems like 0 dB can be surpassed, as the same system volume settings as on Windows were still loud, and the equalizer trick with PulseEffects didn't work. Still got the same desired result though!
