    I grew up with Theravada Buddhism & have read about 5 Buddhas on Earth; 3 Buddhas before Gautama Buddha & the next coming (the 5th Buddha) & after him will be the end of the Earth. Now I get to know about Amitabha Buddha & the Pure Land. Thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏

    Buddhism and hinduism are so real then any other religions where only stories of god and philosophies like :be good to others ,which can be written by anyone but in this there is a process of meditation or yoga i dont know exactly by doing which we start to control our senses and mind reach a state where we get out of illusion and be able to know past present future so as they know this information they wrote it in scriptures buddha wrote buddhism and sages wrote hindu scriptures and not only sages in india every place has different enlightened people like alvars in tamil , so this makes sense that both religions might be true if there is any contradictory to both then it might have been made by others as history is very easily changeable even the scriptures we wont get original information

    In my opinion he taught us how to end our suffering and why some of us live good lives while some of us live bad lives. He told us why we live these lives. For example; starving kids in africa wonder why they live such horrible lives and people who are born rich wonder why they live such wonderful lives. Buddhism answers to that with the concept of karma and reincarnation. th-cam.com/video/OBwwr4vwnDE/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Jiawen, i have been really enjoy watching your videos. i will like to ask you a question, what about chanting the name of Amitabha Buddha along with the names of several bodhisattvas, i.e. Avalokiteśvara, Mahasthamaprapta and a few others, will that be okay? will that affect my possibilities of being able to seek rebirth to the pure land?

  • @freeworld88888

    unbaised , I read Taoism too, Buddhism is very similiar to Taoism. But Taoism is more focus on the reality of nature of the world more

    • @PureLandBuddhism
      @PureLandBuddhism  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Amituofo yes, there are quite a lot of similarities. I used to practise Taoism too (Tao Te Ching used to be my bible), but if one examines the Taoist texts (such as Tao Te Ching), one will realise there is still an attachment to non-doing in a way or only do when the conditions are here (still a kind of attachment, and quite subtle!) Also if one practises Taoism, then one aspires to be born in the heaven realm (that's what taoist practitioners aspire), the heaven realm is still one of the six realms in the cycle of Samsara, so it's not complete liberation yet. The Buddha's teachings are much more exhaustive and complete than Taoism (one has to look at the Mahayana sutras to know). Amituofo!

    Bad thought or bad action which one is wrost bad karma ?
    Sometime bad thought come to mind but fade away after few minute but sometime we act upon it ....
    So which one is bad ? Or both produce equal karmic result ?

    • @justicewarrior2570
      @justicewarrior2570 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know but i think the bad action is worse than bad thought. Because when we commit an action then we can harm others and ourselves physically and this karmic debt will bring more physical harm to us in the future. Thoughts on the other hand are just thoughts and will not harm us physically.

    who taught the Buddha, Buddhism?
    Who taught him the sutra? The Buddha seems like a Jain.
    His path to enlightment very extreme.
