My question is why don't no one ever play the track after showing people the edit tutorial, like damn that gets me so vexed like, we also wanna listen to the work you just did so, next time wen you finish showing us the tutorial please, let us hear the sound that you just made from that studio program ight ma nigga? It’s 2020 and iv’e gone back to using Cool Edit Pro, I used it alot back in the day and had my own ways of mixing. It’s been years since I used it and forgot what my presets were iv’e tried a few techniques that are ok but this video right here is the best one for my vocals so far so thanks bro !
Same here. I hate Pro Tools interface. I can move sooo much faster in Cool Edit or the first version of Adobe Auditon.

I see alot of people hating on this kid, but hes showing people a basic "novice" setup for cooledit. I found this tutorial online long time ago and the web page is down now. These setting work for most not all people. Before killing his DIY help video with trolling try it out and see for your self. P.s. this editing requires a half way decent mic if you got a 10$ mic dont expect editing to fix ya up lol.
I loved this back on Win98. I tried to use it with WinXP & 7. It wasnt compatible. So now i use Cakewalk Pro Tracks Plus & Qubase. Still wish i had this, was so much easier.
yes. i think its called noise reduction. You highlight a small part of the beginning of your vocals where you havent started rapping or singing yet, then you go to Noise reduction, get profile from selection then click cancel. Then high light the whole block of vocals and go back into noise reduction and click ok. and your set. if you dont know how to do it, most tutorials on youtube has it as the 1st step.
I saw this tutorial many years ago and even now i think is the best from entire web, greate work!

@falconz117 high light a lil bit of the background noise pracitically in the very beggining of the wave then go to noise reduction> noise reduction> press "get profile selection"> click okay> high light the whole vocal> go back to noise reduction> noise reduction> then just click o.k.. and it should get rid of the background noise..

Just drag it using the RIGHT click of the mouse or right click and type in the actual time where you want that waveform.

Well he has videos where he shows the actual quality. Sure there isn't a before version, but the quality in his music videos are pretty good.

@kumisecret no, stay away from usb, use xlr cables, google m-audio audio interfaces, they have some good ones

@ProgressiveBeats502 i suggest recording the song first then arming the second track to record your vocals
If i may add something... For any effects like reverb, echo delays etc you should copy original track with pure vocals and edited/added echos you should put to separate track. Never use efects on original track or mix two vocal tracks together
good stuff, i do music out of my house, using a laptop, surround sound, mixers, etc, and i usually just manually adjust highs, mids, and lows,...this may save me a little time as well as add a lil better quality to my vocal mix..thanks for the vid homie!

Thanks a lot my man good advice. I used cool edit years ago and never got this quality. I use a samson co1 usb condenser for mixtape shit and this really gave the vocals a studio quality effect.

this is what i think.
You go to Options at the top, then in that menu go to settings.
After you click settings, go to the multitrack tab and on the right of that box it says track record.
click 32 bit and mono. if it isnt. dont record in stereo.
if this doesnt work, there is most likely another way to do it. so just hit me up and check out the music.

@KiddGuap basically you just go to file, then mixdown as, then save it as your name of the song or whatever then like click where it says .wav and change it to .mp3

if you could save it as a WAV document. do that, then go to a media converter website and convert it to mp3? i guess you could do that.

@samsonedwards I have the same problem so I record with audicity and mix and master with cool edit
@kumisecret a condenser mic that needs phantom power, get a good audio interface that has phantom power on it

@YOUNGDOMO19 click on the wave form, go into wave editor, hit F11 (convert sample type), then convert to mono, that should fix your problem
BEFORE CUTTING YOU SHOULD RUN NOISE REDUCTION "GET PROFILE" ON THE BITS WITHOUT VOCALS/INSTRUMENT.... ONCE YOU GOT THE PROFILE THEN CLOCK "OK".,. THEN HIGHLIGHT THE WHOLE THING AND RUN THAT NOISE REDUCTION AGAIN. THENNNNNNNNNNN CUT THE MOUSE CLICKS OUT AND RUN YOUR POP REDUCER.

OR, get isotope ozone 4, it's finishing/ mastering softwear, and it also works as a plug in for cool edit, easier, quicker,simpler....... for me anyway, check it out :)

o to the "In" button by the arm for recording button. click left channel 16 bits click ok should solve your problem

@YOUNGDOMO19 My Cool edit pro have the same problem. I record anyway with only one speaker working, then when u finish copy the wave that was recorded from the right track and past in the left track. then u will have a normal sound wave with both speakers spiting sound! =)

whats up when i record on the track it only records in the left chanel how do i get it to record in both chanels left and right at the same time

Not bragging haha, but my laptop takes like 3 seconds for it to reject/detect hiss + clicks/pops when i apply the changes to my drum tracks. Yes, I'm doing this for drum tracks. it makes it sound really nice actually bro.

I only downloaded the evaluation version of CEP or whatever and it only lets you save 60 seconds of the beat or some shit?

well idk wha you talkin about. buh if you talkin about the mic level. i put it on the right channel and then the mic level is like at the middle. lol i hope i answered your question.
click save as mixdown....thats how it will convert to an mp3....

Make sure your in multitrack view and then "save mixdown as..."

ay bro, i gotta samson c01u mic i use fruity loops to record and make beats. it sounds good but tell me why it feels like its louder on one side of my speakers? and its not my speakers i know its the mic is there anyway i can fix that? and what program did yu use for this? this is urgent please let me know
