Keep doing great music, it's always a pleasure for the ears. Love the groove of the instru and the soul accents of Kala's voice, that style suits her. Good summer vibes! BTW: good sax too :p
This is dope - sounds 90s, like a real band with real groove and 🔥 vocals 🤘edit: i just realised this is KALA ROSE!! I remember her from when she was a kid 🤯
Wuuu....wuhhhh....WOWZER!!! My introduction to Kala was on the OMF 46 & 2 video (which I've watched 10K times) and now listen to her! Keep reach'n for the new heights! Thanks for making and posting this video!
Same, that was the first OMF video I ever saw! Such a great cover by all involved! Kala's really grown into her voice so much. Sounds so much more confident and natural. So grateful for OMF guiding all these talented children to become tremendous artists!
Thank goodness there's still good kids making good music. Been watching since you were back at O'Keefe. Keep making the badass music you've been making this whole time. The world will catch up eventually and be jealousof the rest of us who have been here the whole time.
Watching some of those kids over the last 10-15 years, there are a handful who have truly launched careers in music. Here’s one - this video is absolutely top notch, the tune should survive over time, and Saving Escape is indeed ready for the big time! Tour info??
Wow, Saving Escape, you've knocked it out of the park with this video! The energy is electric, the riffs are killer, and the vocals are top-notch. The visuals are stunning, and the editing is on point. This is the kind of rock video that makes you want to crank up the volume and play it on repeat. Keep on rockin' and bringing the heat! 🤘🎸🔥
What a great song you guys! I can't wait to hear the new album! Btw are you guys going to be playing at Hippie Fest Indiana this year? I missed you last year because I couldn't make it that day and was totally bummed about it!
I'm always impressed by the clear talent of all members of the band and the great music. I often wonder why aren't they "bigger" than they are? Why are they still an independent band (I presume they are?). Why do they only (mostly) play in Ohio and a few neighboring states? It has to be by choice...which as a fan, kind of confuses or frustrates me. Still, it likely is by choice and I'll have to be "okay" with that lol.
How far you have come...from "Arya Stark" (hey, gotta admit it) covering "Pull Me Under", and "Longest Day", to the amazing cover of "46 and 2". Being recognized so many years ago by Maynard and Lzzy Hale.. WOW. Just so good to see you still going so strong!
That's a proper production. BTW, keep using the horns. It's one of the most underrated additions to a band (like Cake). Keep it up. I've been a subscriber for a while.
My intro to Kala was in the cover of Dream Theater's "Pull Me Under" when she was 11 at the O'Keef Music Foundation with some of her class mates. Simply amazing. I knew then that she would make something of herself! That was over a decade ago.
This is groovin' like crazy. Just wanted to see what I could find on Kala after like many others having seen the 46'2-video again and again. This didn't dissapoint.
Is this really little Kala Rose from 46 & 2 the O'Keefe Music Academy,!?? Jesus how long how long has it been! Scary how fast time goes! It is her though right?? 😮
It was a shame Kala didn't capitalize on her fame from 46&2. She's very talented. I also wish she would have stayed in the heavy rock realm--just my opinion. I'm for sure not a fan of her whole piercing / tattoo look--again just my preference. I guess I'm disappointed that she didn't achieve the stardom i felt she had the pure talent for. Her voice is great.
Music for having a great time to! I don't get what the grumblers down here are grumpy about. It's got funk, and them Escapists have charisma. Unlimited charisma, grooves that make dead people like meself get up out of our graves and jive - sort of. I mean what more could you want? OK, I'm still hoping for a cover of *Jibber and Twitch* , but this made me forget that (for a moment at least). Oh well, at least there's the Todd Sucherman cover of the drum part, hey? And this is original and not so shabby. Not shabby at all, really. Entirely not shabby, to be more precise. Still, here's the sheet music (well not quite, but at least it has the dog barking in it). th-cam.com/video/OxhuQWKwbqY/w-d-xo.html Take the horse to water and then it just says prrrff instead of drinking. If I have one criticism of your song, it's that the recording engineers didn't find a way to bring in a barking dog - leading to opportunities to say sage things about it between verses. You really should have had a barking dog. And maybe an Iron Maiden interlude. I almost might've not wanted to listen again because you didn't get Iron Maiden to do a little interlude. With flutes and things. And Bruce singing falsetto to one side and then basso profundo to the other - like an argument or conversation between two characters. Anyway I'd better shut up, otherwise someone snarky is going to tell me I'm so incredibly knowledgeable that I'm wasting my talents commenting on a TH-cam video, and should go and ... create something or something. Something like that.
Where's the funk? Where's the rock? It sounds like adult contemporary musically, very lounge act sounding. The voice sounds like a rock n roll voice despite phrasing issues, which I think is more of a lyrical thing more than anything else, but she can definitely sing. The drummer has hot chops. The rhythm section comes together nicely during the chorus, especially the 2nd one, but then falls out in the verses to make room for a rather pedestrian and uninspiring lead guitar line and sax solo. And that sax solo is just out of place. It kills the momentum built during the second chorus, which should have led all of the way out of the song. People would be moving during the second chorus and into an outro, but that abrupt slow down kills it. It does not serve the song at all. It belongs at the front of the song, perhaps as part of an intro, but more up tempo. Think of it this way, your boyfriend/girlfriend is going down on you, things are getting really good. You're getting close aaand then their phone rings and they stop to answer it. When they try to come back the vibe is just gone. Having gone back and listened to the rest of your catalogue, Get Mine is the best song that you have done to date. That one is a rocker with interesting vocal patterns and lyrics. This one and Sweet Lovin, not so much.
@@themarblegarden Where do you think we find new, undiscovered acts these days? TH-cam is a pretty big source. It's been that way for about 15 years now.
Oh Kayla please tell me you don't smoke for real! You are so incredibly talented and beautiful don't let smoking ruin you. Also please gain 10 to 15 lbs, a strong wind would blow you away.
This is a good band. The musicians are good, and the writing and comp. are decent. That said Kayla is on a different level. She has an outstanding voice and stage presence that isn't suited to this genre of music. Every time I see her perform with Saving Escape ( btw, an uninspiring band name and easily confused with the band Saving Able) I just cringe. Is it the band? Are they the ones holding her down? Or is it her? I just don't get it. When she's 50 living in trailer at the next hippie music festival will she look back and say "I MADE IT?" I think not. So once again I'll put this out there. To Kala Rose, find professional management. They will steer you on a path toward success. And to the band, if you love her let her go. Here's a brief example. Do you know of a band called The Warning? They also blew up the internet when they were young. But instead of drifting into obscurity they acquired professional management, honed their craft, and are now touring with major acts all over the world. I believe they are now working on their third album. They also performed on the MTV music awards this past year. I'm absolutely NOT trying to be mean, I'm just trying to help a potentially great artist find the right path. This is the last post you'll see from me on this subject. I wish you all good luck and hope you can understand were I'm coming from. Peace!
nothing like condescendingly telling an artist what they need to do in order to "make it" in the exploitative beast known as the music-industry. sounds exactly like the type of advice they should run away from. please shut the hell up and let them grow, hone their craft and define success on their own terms

The band is definitely getting tighter, Kala is growing into her voice more and more, love the sax solo as well

The start of the song her voice reminds me of how Micheal Jackson sounded in his really early years ,n yes that’s a compliment
Great song , killer melody. Only wish the vocal was a little more front and center. She has a great voice!
