A brilliant and thoughtful piece for us to delight in. So well put together - the language she uses is transcendent, it’s inspirational. Alexandra constantly delivers some of the best moments on TH-cam and this is typical of her most excellent and thought provoking work. It’s a privilege to watch!
Hey Alexandra, I love your videos. They are so calming and informative. Could you make a video about your favourite books about nature? You have so much beautiful knowledge.
Good to see another video… from you… Glad you are safe and well… I hope our planet will be also…🤞🏻… “ Respect Mother Earth… and her healing ways…or trade away our children's days .” Neil Young 💐
Beautiful look at the forest and its complex issues. For anyone interested in this topic, I highly recommend reading "The Hidden Life of Trees" by Peter Wohlleben 🌱
I've enjoyed watching your videos; they are informative, creative, interesting and extremely well presented; well done! Yet I was disappointed that in this particular video, you mentioned joining "other activists" at the COP 26 Climate Change summit. That's fine by me if you wish to virtue signal your participation but, by the same token, you could at least have also signaled your activist credentials by promoting all the wind farms that blight Scotland's beautiful and ancient landscape. It would had been more honest, I feel, if at minimum, you'd shown a few turbines to bolster your support for such a source of energy. Promoting the Scottish Rewilding Alliance whilst also tacitly agreeing with all the wind farms seem incompatible to me.
@@alexandrareuter327 you were explaining how humans are making space for wild forest to grow again, I just wanted to say this term humans making space for something usually doesn't ends well, for example in my local area also few years ago government and forestry companies chopped natural wild forests to introduce pine trees than few years later they realised pine trees are worthless so now they are cutting down whole forest and introducing oak ... instead of natural forest with local species ... now we have "tree gardens" instead of natural forest and no bio diversity ... mushrooms are gone, birds are gone, wildlife is gone... humans making space ;).
Not so true!! yes the gorse is cut back but this helps growth as it helps bees pollinate the flowers and promotes growth. The older days/ generation people would have burnt it back but this would have been out of control and left to burn for days / weeks out of control which would have meant more damage instead of being under control in what is cut back to being burnt by the older generation. As for the older Scots pines these have to be removed because it allows growth for younger saplings, shoots to fight there way through instead of killing off younger saplings. There has to be a threshold of what is good and what isn’t healthy against unhealthy? However for forests that have to be cut back there are thousands of acres being replanted to encourage new growth and new generation which will benefit the planet in the following years. What you are saying is short sighted and its the bigger picture we need to focus on now and the generations to follow us. There is no point in fighting for something that has already been done, but what we need to do is fight for the future and your VLOGS will help for generations beyond our lives. We just need to keep the focus and make sure the land owners understand. I like your VLOGS but there are two sides to every story and we need to have a fair representation for both sides of the argument. Yes i understand your are both Vegan but I’m not and neither were my ancestors, if MacDonalds were around back then we would be eating dinosaurs burgers, yes vegetables and root vegetables and meat were the main diet in those days. So plant based diets aren’t going to make a difference. We need governments and people to take ownership and be responsible.
THANK YOU ...........everyone must watch and listen at what you are saying!!

Landowners and farmers have a lot to answer for they have ruined the land, not only in scotland but the rest of the UK.

When humans "making space" for nature that never ends well :(
What do you mean?

actually this gave me an idea to film this area and I will call it "humans making space... " :)
