A person could look their whole life and never find a property/cottage like that, and at a time when they can afford it. That is a dream. Enjoy it for the rest of us! It’s beautiful!
@Jay I agree. I get very depressed when I look at these videos and it's getting worse every day. I'm stuck in an apartment lease because a simple basic home of my very own (on just a small piece of land) is so unaffordable and unattainable for regular people like me just trying to live a simple life.

@@MichelleNovalee I think the “standard” home definitely depends on location and income/class. Julie Schneider I am such a visual person that I was probably so busy looking at everything that I missed his mention of a wood stove! I agree with you that they should at least put one of those in. It would probably cost a whole lot less than a big stone fireplace. 😊
DONT build one!!! They are super inefficient....heat sink to hold cold in winter and heat in summer . We have a cabin half that size (800 sq ft) with a HUGE masonry fireplace....it's NOT good! You could even put doors on the shelves to cover up what you would use them for. It would cost a fortune today to make such shelving as the pieces of wood have skyrocketed
It's huge ! A dream came true, the windows are stunning, the light magical. All this storage is so great when you are messy, the rooms can be free of stuf every where. This house in the woods is a gem

Thank you so much! We couldn’t agree more, this place is so unique and we want to keep it that way 😊 The plan is to make a few needed updates, but to keep it feeling like the storybook cottage that it is!
Dear Heart: what a gorgeous property!!! Congratulations on your beautiful home and woods!!! Like others who have posted, I am locked into living in an apartment and the pandemic wreaked havoc on my savings due to having lost one job and taking another at a huge pay cut. Mindblowing property and house! Everything you need and made with such soul and natural beauty! Saw this at random now, subscribed and can’t wait to see yoir follow up videos! What a lovely trio you are, and if you have children one day they will be extremely priviliged growing up in this beautiful house immersed in an enchanted landscape! What state is this in? This is so ideal--what I want for our next home as we retire. When I saw all those open shelves I thought--yarn storage, ha ha, because I am also a crocheter/knitter. Enjoy!
Kim and Parismiami..I live in FL and hate it hate it! I am looking to move out of state. I have always loved the Woods too..since a little girl. So..I was thinking of TN or NC. Do you guys like TN? Is cost of living expensive? I know they have a state tax return there..FL does not have that. Is there affordable land and houses there? Thank you.
@@Gypsygirl9 I'm thinking of moving northward in my retirement even from Georgia because of the increasing heat. My brother lives in rural northern North Carolina where the cost of living and houses is pretty cheap. Cities are a different story, of course, but if you need employment you'd have to go there. I've been doing a little research and Knoxville, Tennessee is pretty cheap and with a low crime rate; lots of retirees there. Nashville and Chattanooga have high crime and Memphis is out of the question. Anywhere in the south is going to be politically very conservative, but Georgia (in spite of M.T. Greene) and the Carolinas seem to be slightly less so. I'd be in Colorado in a heart beat of the cost if living there wasn't so high; housing is sky high. Good luck with your plans!
@@Gypsygirl9 Curious as to what part of Florida do you live in. I recently moved to Vero beach and it’s absolutely beautiful. But if you are looking for a place in Tennessee my cabin is close to Monterey. It’s an hour and a half east of Nashville and very rural. There is no state tax and the cost-of-living is much lower than Florida. The land and the rent it’s much more affordable though the cost of housing has gone up recently since there’s a big influx of people moving into Tennessee from California New York and New Jersey.... likely to escape the high cost of living and endless lockdowns in blue states. Research Cumberland Cove or Monterey which is directly in the middle of Cookeville and Crossville. Both are 15 minutes in each direction so if you’re looking for employment there is opportunities there but jobs are mostly blue-collar (nothing wrong with that) or If you work from home (and there are a lot of options out there to do that now ) Monterey will be a great place to live. Very peaceful, hiking trails, waterfalls, caves....The town is on a plateau with an elevation of 2000 feet. Best wishes to you with your move.
@@Gypsygirl9 Before.. you decide on doing this..make sure you have a partner and some dogs and also cat/s and also Powerful Automatic Shotgun and atleast a Glock19 with plenty of reload clips available at easy reach. Remember, by the time the Police or Statetroopers ever make it out to you after you make the emergency call..the danger will already have over come you Before they ever get there in time to save you!!
Wow did this give me a huge wave of homesickness. Not sure where you all landed but based on the footage this looks very much like the mountains I grew up on in Vermont :) The fall foliage is lovely, congratulations!
It was a lovely property and cute pl with as lit of potential. I love cottages. Your dog is well behaved. It seems perfect for you two. Congrats. Will be looking forward to you sharing your progress.
Absolutely gorgeous! I have built one home and owned 4 others. I grew up on a forested farm of 100 acres of prime real estate. One part of the property over looked a creek and valley. Your property is similar. Now the gem of a cabin. It is rustic and charming. When a woman builds a house it is usually with flair. All of her meticulous documentation and her beautiful cubbies are valuable to anyone that owns the home. I am sure she was sad to let it go but you and your fiancé will breath new life and love into both the land and the home. Congratulations to you both and make many Happy memories here! Blessings, Laura
My grandmother always has all of her canned goods she made throughout the summer lining the wall of her basement stairwell. Those shelves are perfect for that! Great little house on a great property - congrats!!! 🏡
A perfect little cottage in the woods. It doesn't get any better than this. Beautiful views, a babbling brook and plenty of trees . I love the trees. I love all of it, so fairytale beautiful. Enjoy and I can't wait to see what lies ahead. Thank you for a peek inside of peace and comfort...hugs from Arizona...:)
I love this cabin! So much storage! I’d fill those shelves with books and art supplies. The basement would make a great studio. Y’all made a great purchase.
Glad this found its way to my feed. We're retired and pondering a down-sizing move from PNW to somewhere back in the southern Appalachians. I built a kit log home in the late 70s in SW VA but lost it in a divorce. You've nicely added to our list of considerations. Congrats on your find, wish you many years of fulfillment and adventure.
Haha I guess it’s tiny for us. Perfect size though. We’re in the process of finishing the basement so I’ll be posting a video soon with updates. Thanks for watching!

absolutely beautiful and peaceful looking and sounding...thank you for letting us be a part of your venture...look forward to how this progresses year to year...Good luck and God bless you both with a long and joyous life and home...
This is not a Tiny Home.....what are you guys talking about? It is a big nice home I wouldn't even call this a cottage.....and it sure is not Tiny.....
The area seems so peaceful, the cabin so cozy and inviting (and that's just the cabin sans decor). Poor ol Wilbur waiting to go outside, gave the most wistful looks.
Just amazing! I would love to find a place like that. Oh how very interesting and love the shelf space and the way this place is set up. Can't wait to see more! Thank you for sharing this with me. 🧡
This is much more lovely (and real) than a Kinkade painting. Sorry, I don't like them because, to me, they're overdone and unrealistic. But glad you enjoy them and many people do love them for their dreamlike quality.
I can see why you are so excited! The property and the cottage are incredibly beautiful. I will begin to follow and enjoy your adventures as you go forward. Congratulations! Lovely video.
What a lovely cabin in the woods. I can picture Anne sitting by the glass doors crocheting. Those built in shelves are wonderful. Enjoy your cabin and make it your own.
Wow, this is beautiful. You had luck on your side to find something done strong, correct, with a basement and have the proof of the process. This is rare. Nice move!
Wow, I’m a crocheter myself and watching the basement I was thinking that could be an amazing crochet nook! ( before you mention about the previous owner) I recently purchased a piece of land in the woods and I’m planning to build something like this there ☺️
My childhood home was also surrounded by trees, so was my hometown, all trees everywhere and I thought it was great cause it would be the perfect place to explore and your imagination could come alive, makes me think of bridge to terabithia or tuck everlasting or even winnie the pooh, all my favorites, this is a dream.
A lovely cottage in a great setting. What impresses me most though is the calm relaxed delivery. I so wish there were more videos like yours on the internet.
Gorgeous!, you were so lucky to find this fairy tale home in the woods. What serene surroundings with the little brook and falling leaves , the quiet of the forest, birds singing, just a dream.
You seems to be a kind human being and that tiny cottage looks so precious... Everything about this place inspire peace, calm and happiness. I wish you the best to you and your fiancee for the future
I actually would not add a shower upstairs and would just use the downstairs shower...unless they really want to modify the roof line! (If I was going to add a shower, it would be an outdoor one.) I think built in, graduated depth drawers across that low nook for linens/clothes would be more practical. They can use some of the wood from Anne's excessive storage nooks. Also, I don't see room for a full fireplace, unless they want to sacrifice the couple windows in the living space, but maybe a small glass-front wood or gas stove could work. Also, a full fireplace in there would cook them out.
A person could look their whole life and never find a property/cottage like that, and at a time when they can afford it. That is a dream. Enjoy it for the rest of us! It’s beautiful!
Thank you so much Nicole, we feel extremely lucky and enjoy it each day🥰

You could even put doors on the shelves to cover up what you would use them for. It would cost a fortune today to make such shelving as the pieces of wood have skyrocketed
Just stupid gorgeous. Wow. And having the little albums of it being build. That lady loved her house, and now we do, too. Enjoy. ☺️💕
It's huge ! A dream came true, the windows are stunning, the light magical. All this storage is so great when you are messy, the rooms can be free of stuf every where. This house in the woods is a gem
This place is awesome. So nice of the lady who had it built to give you the pictures.
Hi how are you doing?
Just Beautiful, brought tears to my eyes, so happy for you two.
I loved the woods when I was a child, and my chidhood sounds just like yours growing up. Thanks so much for this beautiful and encouraging video... gives hope to us all!
Hello how are you doing?
Very beautiful cabin and location! That’s so thoughtful and cool that the original owner left photos and info on the house’s origin.
Your place is beautiful* Thanks for sharing* Hope you'll be happy there. God Bless You & Yours*
Hello how’re you doing?
I love Anne’s little notes in her picture book, what a character! Interesting people make for interesting homes I suppose
This is wonderful! I love all the woodwork and shelves. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the place.
I hope you don't make too many changes. It's sooooo beautiful just as it is.
Yet, still I have hope that I can retire to a forest one day and just live quietly. May your lives be enriched by all the beauty of the Forest and your Home. All Love
Mindblowing property and house! Everything you need and made with such soul and natural beauty!
Such a lovely and peaceful location, the brook, the airy woodland where the light reaches the ground (not deep in the thicket), open fields… just an unbelievable find! Saw this at random now, subscribed and can’t wait to see yoir follow up videos! What a lovely trio you are, and if you have children one day they will be extremely priviliged growing up in this beautiful house immersed in an enchanted landscape!
What state is this in?
Congratulations on making a fantastic lifechanging choice! 🙌❤️
This is so ideal--what I want for our next home as we retire. When I saw all those open shelves I thought--yarn storage, ha ha, because I am also a crocheter/knitter. Enjoy!
The cabin is absolutely incredible, & the wooded property is so beautiful! Such a blessing...wow! Love it!
I bought a little cabin in the woods in TN; best decision I ever made 😌
I live in Tn and I’m looking 😃
Hello how are you doing?
Lol..... I've been watching tons of tiny house videos lately. To me this place is enormous.
All those shelves in the basement could turn into a library
“And here’s the cabin “ (a shed, thinking oh boy click bait). That is a beautiful home 🏡
That's more of a house than a cottage. Its beautiful. I dig all that knook/storage space.
That is a great buy I ever seen..Great luck ...you will use every bit of it.. ❤️
Hello how’re you doing?
A perfect little cottage in the woods. It doesn't get any better than this. Beautiful views, a babbling brook and plenty of trees . I love the trees. I love all of it, so fairytale beautiful. Enjoy and I can't wait to see what lies ahead. Thank you for a peek inside of peace and comfort...hugs from Arizona...:)
Can't get more of a "Cabin in the woods" than that. Beautiful!
Thank you! We feel so lucky to be able to call it home ☺️
A huge congrats on a cabin that’s truly one in a million! 👌 Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
I love this cabin! So much storage! I’d fill those shelves with books and art supplies. The basement would make a great studio. Y’all made a great purchase.
Thank you, we definitely feel lucky to call it home☺️
Luck had nothing to do with it-you are blessed.
So glad you are enjoying the videos, wishing you the best on finding your dream property!
That place could hold 1,000 books and the peace you'd need to read them all. Heavenly.
Hello how’re you doing?
dang, every time he uploads I get a dopemine rush. He is the most chill and humble youtuber.
I laughed out loud reading this. Thank you!
@@CottageandCompany haha no problem
BEAUTIFUL of it! Tiny! Thats far from tiny! You should do fixer upper vids of ur new acquired cottage, very interesting! I would watch!!!
Haha I guess it’s tiny for us. Perfect size though. We’re in the process of finishing the basement so I’ll be posting a video soon with updates. Thanks for watching!
Ù@@CottageandCompany
Such an adorable and cozy cabin. I love all the built-in shelves, immediately I was thinking of all the books that could fill them. 😋
What a dream come true for you. The cabin is out of this world. All the storage is fabulous. You will thank her for them especially in a tiny home. Invaluable. Congrats. It is like a fairy cottage in the woods. Bonus the babbling brook.
We agree! ❤️ Thanks so much for the comment
absolutely beautiful and peaceful looking and sounding...thank you for letting us be a part of your venture...look forward to how this progresses year to year...Good luck and God bless you both with a long and joyous life and home...
Beautiful place!! Cutest of all tiny homes I've seen! Thanks for sharing!!
Wow! Thank you for the comment! I’ll be releasing more cottage videos soon. Stay tuned 😎
That’s not a tiny house lol it’s a huge cottage
This is not a Tiny Home.....what are you guys talking about? It is a big nice home I wouldn't even call this a cottage.....and it sure is not Tiny.....
You’re living my dream😍. GodSpeed💜
Aww thanks Tammy! We’re most definitely living ours too ❤️
BEAUTIFUL! Cottage pretty sure you will have a happy life and creating a lot of memories sending you positive vibes and love 💗
Thank you Shary! More videos to come so stay tuned. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
Wow the house is breathtaking , beautiful wood work !! Beautiful dog also !! Nice location in the woods !!! Thank you for sharing !!
Without the glare of the sun it looks like a Thomas Kinkade painting
Absolutely!
It absolutely does!!!
I was thinking Robert Woods as he was walking up the driveway.
This is much more lovely (and real) than a Kinkade painting. Sorry, I don't like them because, to me, they're overdone and unrealistic. But glad you enjoy them and many people do love them for their dreamlike quality.
Lol title says "Tiny" that's like a normal sized house 🤣 some might say large
I suppose it's all about perspective
Maybe he grew up in a huge house.
@@h.r.puffinstuff431 I'm guessing he did. He looks way too young to be able to afford this. Trust fund baby is my guess.
vaskylark He looks like he is still in college!! 👍
My only suggestion would be to turn your bed around so it's under the window and you can have some side tables.
Look again, it's built in.
Wow, this is beautiful. You had luck on your side to find something done strong, correct, with a basement and have the proof of the process. This is rare. Nice move!
Thank you very much! We definitely feel lucky to have found our dream home🥰
Wow, I’m a crocheter myself and watching the basement I was thinking that could be an amazing crochet nook! ( before you mention about the previous owner) I recently purchased a piece of land in the woods and I’m planning to build something like this there ☺️
How neat! Best of luck with building your dream cottage!
Hello how are you doing?
A lovely cottage in a great setting. What impresses me most though is the calm relaxed delivery. I so wish there were more videos like yours on the internet.
It’s so beautiful! My dream home! So happy for you two, blessings ❤️
I'm so jealous! This is my dream!
I am looking forward to seeing this project! looks so amazing. What a great find.
Thanks so much!
Great Father's Day video it sure brings back memories I growed up in the country born and raised Country Boy you are greatly blessed indeed
Glad you enjoyed it
It's actually nice house.
It looks old outside but inside.....it's wow!
That cottage is so perfect and the property is beautiful.
Thanks so much Vicki😊
Those shelves could b used for storage of canned foods and preserves
My thought too, especially that far out.
And a LOT of books...
I loved all the shelving too. So practical and beautifully made.
Laughed out loud at the first cabin - was “uhhhhh !? She REALLY love u” - great find, sir!
Hello how’re you doing?
Gorgeous!, you were so lucky to find this fairy tale home in the woods. What serene surroundings with the little brook and falling leaves , the quiet of the forest, birds singing, just a dream.
You seems to be a kind human being and that tiny cottage looks so precious... Everything about this place inspire peace, calm and happiness. I wish you the best to you and your fiancee for the future
When you showed that shed as your house I was like 😳.
🤣
Wow, I am happy for you. Looks so beautiful! Dreaming of something similar myself :)
Thank you! I appreciate the comment.
Slate roof tiles, this was a very expensive house to build at the time, please don;t paint any of the interior wood. Add shower in master bath,
The construction is really superb! Very high quality materials used throughout! This cabin was the original owners labor of love
@@CottageandCompany They could have waxed the step treads where ever they touch other wood to eliminate sqeaks. Maybe able to remove and put back.
The quantity of wood makes it costly and valuable.
@@kapekodbob The pops, squeaks and creaks are part of the charm...and good for security reasons.
You are a lucky couple to realize what you want in your life and have the good sense to go after your dream Good luck and happiness my friend
Beautiful, a little piece of heaven, every one's dream. Enjoy my friend.
