So good!!! And so true! I am one who sometimes is way more concerned of physical messes around the house than cleaning up the spiritual ones. Thank you for this!!
Rachel, like a christian and expository version of Beth Moore LOL! My family loves that we have this godly woman for the women to listen to and get biblically sound, day to day life advice. Thank you Doug and wife for proper brooding!
Hi Canon Press! I do not know if you are aware but I have not been able to access the daily bible reading plan for about 3 weeks now. It is not uploading. What's going on? I can access all the rest of sermons, podcasts, etc. Thanks!
I think the gist of what she was saying is to confess your sin to God and to each other, ask for forgiveness, and repent-all immediately, or as soon as possible-and then go about in the confidence that God has restored and is restoring you and that He will guide you to be less messy the next time. I have been doing this for a while with my children and my husband. If I raise my voice or react in anger or complain or just carry a poor attitude in general, I stop (i.e., the Lord stops me!) and I apologize and ask forgiveness. If I sin toward my husband in front of my children, I apologize to all of them and ask for forgiveness from all of them. It has made such a difference in the peace and harmony in our home. Mind you, I’m not taking credit for this-it only came from the molding and shaping of Our Father in Heaven. And I was not necessarily a “willing” vessel to begin with. 😅 In fact, when I realized what He was asking me to do, I was quite indignant and exceedingly irritated and asked if there was some other way. 🤦🏻♀️ But as it turns out, God knows what he is doing, and I am thankful for the chastening.
@@monew632 I'm going to give ita good go. I am dragging my bad attitude all over my house and it is definitely impacting our family. And since I can't isolate my bad attitude and I've been praying and begging for my heart to change and I have been confessing to God what I know I am sinning I feel the sin and darkness in my heart and don't get why I am feeling it. But I don't confess to my family ever or apologize.
'The difference is that in a Christian family we know how to clean up the mess and the sin'. As a counselor I could agree with the statement that we have the means to do it, to see how Jesus would have acted.... But I certainly can't agree with the statement that the difference in a Christian home is that they do it any better than a non Christian home.
Attitudes are not sinful. How we treat others can be sinful, and when it is, then that should be addressed. The way you talk about home and children sounds exhausting!! It’s not the parents job to root out sin. It’s the parents job to maintain relationship with the children and help them learn to navigate their emotions and learn how to successfully interact with the world around them and how to go to Christ for themselves.

Next time my attitude is out of whack, I'm going to tell myself. " This is a honey situation!"
Ok I love the analogy and I get the premise of it but HOW do I attack the mess???
Jackhammer of prayer and the chisel of proverbs :) have a great day
