Good analysis from the your presentation however I noticed you did not account for increasing expenditure on feeding and housing. For example 200k for feeding 1000 snails what about feeding the subsequent increase of the snails and housing requirements. Thanks and great work.
Well spotted bro. I forgot to account for the cost of feeding the additional 23,000 snails that came in year 2 With regards to the housing, I didn't account for it because the total number of snails were still under 30k and could fit into a greenhouse situated on one plot without violating stocking density requirement...and also this cost would still fall under fixed cost as opposed to recurring expense - Part of my assumption was to only account for the recurring expense not the fixed costs e.g. the cost of constructing the farm. But you're right..feeding these additional snails would cost a lot more than 200k.
Thanks Michael for being so thorough, detailed, and yet concise. I have come to trust your channel as my go to TH-cam channel when it comes to snail farming in Nigeria. I can’t wait to personally reach out to you when next I am in the country to possibly implement my snail farm project that I have put on hold for lack of credible research data from other practitioners in Nigeria. Thanks again for what you’re doing bro..
Thanks bro Yeah I agree with you. The problem is that core snail farming topics are limited and there's only so much you can discuss.. . Anything that requires a lot of granular details and explanation I'll most likely do it personally. However, snail trivia topics tend to be short and attract a LOT more views compared to snail farming topics and a lot more of a global audience who love that animation style format Its a balancing act but I'll try as much as possible to do the core snail farming stuff personally if I suspect the video will be long and requires a lot of explanation or demonstration..but for the snail trivia stuff which tends to be very brief I'll most likely defer to animation
Yes indeed . Perhaps we can provide subject tips for you . What do you think about making your own formulated feeds . Perhaps you can look at ' how to make a formulated feed, giving a details breakdown of the component and percentage value that would be required to make a 10, 20 or 50kg feed quantity ..?
What you're saying about the snails being adapted to their local environment, and changing those conditions could be true and useful for most any live organism. Snails, chickens, transplanting crops or trees. Changing conditions is stressful to life, and requires adaptation. Nice one.
Thank you Michael. This is really self explanatory. I understood the feeding N200,000 was for feeding the initial 1,000 snails for 2 years. What about the cost of feeding the snails hatched within the 2 year period? Thanks once again.
If you are operating a greenhouse system, then formulated feed is just supplementary and you'll need to budget between N400,000 to N700,000 for feeding all the snails in the first 2 years. If you're operating an intensive system where they have no other source of food except what you bring to the pen, you'll need to budget upwards of N1m for the thousands of snails to come
There is no set layout. You can follow any design you want...or even better a layout that fits the shape of your land and area you've mapped out to use for snail farming
My question sir How many clutches contain 10eggs do AM lay once or is it just one clutch Secondly, how do someone stock his farm without over stocking it
AM snails usually lay 4 to 6 eggs per clutch They lay 2 to 3 times a year In order not to overstock, you have to work out the surface area of your farm, its capacity and then use the ideal stocking density to determine he quality of snails that will comfortably fit he farm of that size
Thanks AM snails lay on average 6 eggs per clutch and 2 to 3 times a year when fed well. I just used twice a year to be conservative AA and AF snails lay hundreds per clutch and multiple times a year ...very different from AM snails.

Very precise and helpful. Thanks
Great job Zenak Farms. Thank you so much for the detailed and informative lecture. More grace mentor.
This is the bessssssssssssst snail farm calculation i have seeeen !!!!
Thanks a lot for the feedback bro! Glad you enjoyed it 😃
You are very intelligent
Personally I have produced 830 snails with just 30 snails in one year and two months
Thats impressive!
Very commendable. Thanks alot.
You're welcome

@@raphaelekugum1160 It's a good idea bro. Will look into it when I have all the materials I need for that video
👍 good
Thanks Favour

Additionally, how and why did I stumble in here? I'm Canadian, and have no aspirations of farming whatsoever. Interesting information regardless.
Yeah I suppose. Most living organisms have to adapt to changing conditions..its inevitable. Adapt or die
Thanks Mr Micheal for your detailed explanation. Please is it easily accessible or feasible to get Achinata Achinata from Nigeria farms?
You can find AA if you look hard enough .but it certainly isn't easily accessible. AM is easily accessible in Nigeria
@@zenaksnailfarm Thanks for your response sir

@@zenaksnailfarmThank you. Can I visit your farm? I’ll travel down.
@kcnwagba yes you can visit but fair warning...there's an entrance fee
😂😂😂. No problems, I would pay.
@kcnwagba lol. Let me know closer to the date you want to come and we can progress things from there

Excellent presentation! How many eggs does the AA lay in a clutch or a year?
They can lay 200+ eggs per clutch..Two or three times a year

@@zenaksnailfarm thank you for your response and clarification. I was under the impression that they all lay about 100-200 per clutch.

Pls sir,is your analysis with ovum or situaris
Its for Ovum...but I imagine the numbers won't vary by much if its Suturalis because both are under AM family
Please where is your farm located and how much is the breeder stock
My farm is located in Enugu, Nigeria. Depending on the farmer, season and location, most Point of Lay snails go for N300 to N500
Farm staff salary ?
You can also add that.
