With regards to the question you asked about handling snail eggs
I think handling snail eggs with human hands can increase the likelihood of the eggs becoming infected by harmful bacteria or fungi that can harm or kill the developing embryos.
Snail eggs are covered with a protective layer called the perivitelline membrane, which helps to prevent the entry of harmful microorganisms.
However, the membrane can be damaged by oils or dirt present on human hands, allowing pathogens to enter the egg and cause infection.
In addition, handling the eggs roughly can also damage the developing embryos inside. Therefore, it is best to avoid touching snail eggs with bare hands and allow them to hatch on their own in their natural environment, as they are better equipped to protect themselves from external threats
Thanks for the explanation!
@@CharlesAntwi you're welcome
Thank you
Very informative video bro.
One thing I've observed most snail farmers aren't upfront with is the issue of hibernation during dry season.
The bottom line is that most snails will hibernate during the dry season regardless of how much you water their enclosure. There's not much you can do about it...and neither should you.
This is simply due to the fact that relative humidity drops by over 40-50% during this period..making the air very dry
When you water their enclosure it only wets the floor and leaves...not the air which is STILL no where near the saturation level snails need to be comfortable.
Sure the snails will wake up temporarily from their deep sleep but as soon as they sense the dry air and in some cases the dry harmattan wind which tends to breeze over their skin..they'll fall back into hibernation because they don't want to dry out and die.
The few that aren't hibernating tend to lose appetite for food
So, unless you're continuously MISTING (not watering) their enclosure (which is a huge undertaking with regards to energy, containment and fungal/bacterial outbreak issues), hibernation is inevitable.
If you decide to wake the snails repeatedly you put unnecessary stress on them which will eventually kill them.
Dry season is just the best time to sell, get your best stock ready and prepare for the next rainy season
Great insight
Well said. But as I was reading, I thought of how to get a humidifier for the snails during the dry season. Buh I don't know how feasible it would be buh looking at a green house model, it might be possible to also construct a humidifier for d snails too.
@@minahkarm4931 if you live in a place where water isn't a problem and you also have very cheap or free renewable energy to power the humidifier, then this will work no doubt. Because you don't have to worry about containing the mist that tend to diffuse out into the surrounding through the shade net. However, if you're limited by water or power is expensive..it may end up being an expensive option that isn't worth the effort
@@zenaksnailfarm thanks
Thank you the chartered farmer for a detail explanation. My question is on diversification of snail business.
A good time for knowing more about snail farming.thanks.
God bless you for sharing your ideas
Very good job keep it up bro
Very educating and detailed video.
Very quickly...how often do you clean and clear the snails poopoo and do I need to bath or wash the snails everytime I clean up?
Also do I add more steam soil into the pens as I discovered the soil is reducing. this
I have about 400 small snails shared into two pens of 3ft by 5ft .After watching this video I realized I need additional pens. I have 8plots of fenced land where I farm for my consumption and I discovered lots of snails there.
I intend to buy some points of lay snails soon and go commercial possibly.
Your response will be highly appreciated Gideon!
Bro keep it up you’re doing a great job 👏
How you get the need oil?
Good Work My Friend. Keep it up

Briliant interview both presenter and host where Very detailed and structured
i will like to ask about the snail slim
using the 1 liter mentioned with 650 snails is that based on 1Day /1week or 1 month period to achieve the 1 liter target ?
You can do it every three months.
@@gideonamo-agyei2762 thanks you and is there any particular snail which gives top slime
How do you treat the soil in greenhouse? You mentioned neem oil but you did not explain how to apply it to the soil or do you mix with water or something
Its preferable to treat the greenhouse soil prior to stocking with snails because snails don't do well with chemicals.
Just go to any agrochemicals shop near you and request for a short halflife pesticide you can use to kill crawling insects and stuff.
A short halflife pesticide should be able to do the job and then breakdown in the soil within 2 to 3 weeks...you don't want a longer halflife pesticide that'll persist in the soil
You mix the chemical with water in a knapsack sprayer..the recommended proportion will be shown on the pesticide bottle label. Once mixed, you spray the mixture across the entire cross section of the topsoil in the greenhouse
Applying any chemical to scare away ants in the greenhouse after stocking is akin to draining the ocean..you're wasting your time. Ants live in massive colonies deep underground...way beyond the sphere of influence of any chemicals you apply on the top soil. Its a futile effort
Use 140 ml of neem oil to fill a tank. Which he can get 7 tanks from 1 liters.
Use 15liters knacksap of water
So in all he will spray the place 6 times before the 3.5 liters will finish
@Gideon Amo-Agyei hello Gideon, please can I have your contact?

Bro please I want to know where the slimes are sold.
Please how do we get people to buy the slime
How many juvenile snails can one average size snail pen accommodate ?
Stocking density for juvenile is around 75 to 100 per square metre. So depending on your pen dimension, calculate the area of the pen (length x width) then the amount you can stock will be the area x 100
Thank you
Am Rev Arhin please I need help please your number
Which specific months are the best to sell snails for more profit ?
In the dry season November to March is ok
