I've four or five copies of Rise, including the MFSL. This record was mastered extremely well right out of the gate. Mobile Fidelity took Rise to a completley different level. It's one of the best sounding records of my collection.

Im about to turn six-oh in a couple of months, but great memories and good times still remain quite vivid...with music, flawless, timeless and REAL music, adds a giddy nostalgia accompanied sometimes with adrenaline.....i was 17 in 1979 when this masterpiece was released and rose to number one on Billboard for a couple of weeks. Inflation was high, Regan was ascending, the hostages in Iran were, well, still hostages, and my Auburn Tigers still had another two year wait before again beating Bear's boys...but pure joy is what comes over me when i succumb once more to Rise! Its so perfect it could have been recorded yesterday! Bravo Mr. Alpert!
I also listened to this record over and over again. I wore out the record. Then I got the cassette for Christmas and I used run all over my neighborhood listening to 1980 and RISE. 😊
A wonderfully quiet pressing with some excellent dynamics Rui, I have an original 1979 pressing, and it's not the quietest, not unusual for the time though. and once again another well edited and presented video, 10 out of 10, if it had been a Spinal Tap track, it would be 11 out of 10!!.....
Thank you sir. This Mofi pressing is from 1982, but it was rarely played, and the vinyl itself is very quiet. This was not cheap though, I even felt buyer's guilt at the time, but I wanted it so much, I kinda lost my mind. 😄😋
@@MrVinylObsessive I've a few MoFi pressings and they are whisper quiet and no need to tell me about that obsession of wanting a piece of music even at such a cost that it's questionable but you still buy it then feel guilty and ask yourself WHY!!!!, however when you play the album it all fits into place, and Rui, it's not like we have an obsession in any way....😄😄😄

Olá Rui: I thought I had already seen this video; you previously had the same album and the same track: Rise, and it's the same MFSL edition. I almost passed it by, but after taking a closer look, I realized that it had today's date (at the time of this writing). Well, I see that this video features your new setup for 2023. I feel that this time the audio is a little cleaner, but honestly, I don't find any notable differences. If there are, they are very subtle, and I don't think that this time you will have significantly better audio than before, or vice versa. As always, very nice video. Best Regards!
Hi Raul, how are you? Well, on this video I only repeated the track "Rise", (which is a classic) the real purpose of this new video was to present the other two tracks, which are very good too. I bought this cartridge in October 2022, so it is recent, but not new. As for the audio, there are differences: the Goldring Eroica sounds brighter and with a shy bass, the Rega cartridge has a better bass response and wider sound stage. Of course that one can always wonder if the price difference justifies the difference in quality, but hey, welcome to the Hi-Fi world. 😄🤣

Gosto muito deste álbum, incluindo a faixa "1980", que foi escrita para ser o tema dos jogos olímpicos de verão de 1980 em Moscovo, mas que acabou por só ser usada mais tarde no campeonato mundial de futebol de 1986 no México. Mas acho piada quando ouço os primeiros acordes de trompete porque faz-me lembrar o trompete das touradas antes dos toureiros (e do touro) entrarem na arena. 😁

I listen to records all the time, but I'm pretty sure that there is actual magic going on inside *that* cartridge. Sounds SO good!!
Glad you like it. I like it too, but this vinyl record sounds very nice, I'm sure that many cartridges would sound at least decent with it.
