As a Bandit season ticket holder, we never got to see games like this locally. Always loved the Breakers helmets and uniforms. This was a very entertaining game! I felt bad for the New Orleans Breakers' owner. It would have worked there like the Bandits did in Tampa if they didn't plan the move to fall. The Saints (like the Bucs) had been bad for a long time. Those USFL teams would have thrived. And watching Gina Carano's dad QB for the Maulers. All good fun! Thanks for finding these games and posting them. Good stuff. Hope the new USFL lasts more than 3 seasons :)
I never really got to watch the Breakers play in New Orleans because at the time I was in San Diego in the Navy. But as a loyal fan of anything New Orleans I supported them from a far and in heart.
Thanks for posting these games. Marcus Dupree played at another level. He was better than Herschel Walker IMHO. Herschel had speed and power, but Dupree had great balance and vision. He could also make cuts without losing speed. Those were things Herschel couldn't do. It's a shame that he got jacked around by his uncle, had the knee injury, weight gain, etc.. He could have been one of the best running backs of all time.
The injuries certainly didnt help aside from the fact he had no one in his inner circle looking out for him and his money. He is a blessed man today bc he was able to turn his life around.
Nice to see Outlaws highlights that haven’t been recorded on an 84 VCR then re recorded through a toaster. Also Stars-Wranglers highlights, wow! That was a beautiful uniform matchup.
Yes I actually had that game but it was so distorted and grainy it wasn't even usable to fix on my computer. I am working to fix the Denver vs Portland game which someone upload with very bad audio that you could barely hear. There are more games coming I promise.
@@USFLForever I have the PHI-AZ matchup too on dvd. It’s awful. Solely there just because it’s the AZ Wranglers(my Fave team/uniforms). That Denver Portland matchup will be a treat! Didn’t know it was available. You are posting some really nice stuff. Keep up the Great Work!
@@Mike-aka747 Yeah its probably the same copy I have which is so grainy you have to look real close to see it. Sadly the game was on ABC but no one has a good copy.
@@USFLForever Plus ABC destroyed the original tapes of most if not all the games except the championship games and some select playoff games. Way to go ABC! A fumble at the goal line if there ever was. Shame on you ABC!
No bc the NFL is OVER RATED and completely full of themselves. The USFL of the 80's was quality football. The NFL product is boring most of teatime. Thats why I like watching college football.
Also, if the USFL had had a hard cap, they could've bought a little more time. They also should have stayed out of markets where they couldn't get a good stadium deal because the NFL was putting muscle on cities like Chicago, Philadelphia and Boston to not let those teams use NFL quality stadiums. The south was a good market but not entirely supportive. That said, I would've mainly focused on the South and Southwest with the two teams on the west coast and the one in NJ/NY for the TV eyes.
The USFL would have succeeded had they not expanded to 18 teams and by announcing they would play in the fall to compete against the NFL. The USFL probably would have operated for several seasons before a possible merger with the NFL.
The league is getting further and further away with each passing year, but it lives on, in a way, on this channel. Love it! Many thanks for posting.
You're welcome. My MAIN goal was to preserve the history of this once great league.
@John Espo thank you. Appreciate the kind words and support.
@@USFLForever You do agree with me that best year for the Breakers was in New Orleans.
@@tonyarceneaux286 84 was better.

@@USFLForever Honestly I was surprised 😯 that Memphis Showboats wasn't among the first group of teams in year one.

I’m watching this 37 years after it happened and I’m just as excited as it happened 37 seconds ago.
Me to. Albeit not on such a grand scale like in the 80's but still exciting enough.
@@USFLForever How did the Breakers finished the season?
@@tonyarceneaux286 8 wins and 10 losses
Tim Mazzetti’s comment at the end - a particularly well spoken football player. Good man.

I am watching this because I was a New Orleans Breakers fan.
Breakers are back!
Yes they are.
That league was awesome.
Very good players and coaches. It was like the NFL got 12 - 18 new teams. A lot of them had NFL level if not better
The NFL would never admit to it but YES the USFL was a REAL league.
@John Espo yes and i hope it lasts.
@John Espo I can’t wait for the Breakers to start.
And now the Breakers are returning in the "new" USFL.
Yes "Americas" Team. LOL
@@USFLForever AMERICA FROM COAST 2 COAST!!
Love it. The Mike Rozzier team! The Oilers eventually got him and had three first round RBs. He didn’t have a long NFL career though.
It was certainly short lived.

Fullback Mark Schellen was one of the best players in the league.
Thanks

Yes and while true the USFL wanted to challenge the NFL and thats why they chose the markets they did.
Since the USFL is coming back next year, hopefully, they bring back the New Orleans Breakers.
Most likely Portland to avoid NFL cities.
They did trademark the name from what I saw.
@@USFLForever so your saying 18/19 team names have been trademarked? Only Invaders have been left out ?
@@Mike-aka747 Yes pretty much
San Diego has an opening. May be. Quirk.

When they expanded to 18 teams is bc they needed the money to keep going.
I remember Marcus Dupree. I am going to watch this until I see Marcus Dupree
ENJOY!
It was far better than the old AFL.
Yes it was
At least in the USFL we saw two football players who become successful wrestlers.
