UPDATE: You need to be within 64 blocks horizontally for golems to spawn:) Leave yourself a couple blocks of safety when planning your build! Hopefully this helps you fix any issues you have with your iron farms! Always see a lot of peeps in comments having issues, and figured it would be a good idea to put all the info/troubleshooting into one video so you can get things up and running! 😋 This tutorial assumes you are trying to build an iron farm that is still functional in the current update. And this video isn't meant to have *all* information about every nitty gritty detail of how iron farms work, but I shared all the main important stuff that will likely affect you in game:) Have a great day! 😊

There's not a bunch of people online, my caves below are very well lit up etc. It just wont spawn a single creeper. Thank you if you could so that
Hi silent, thanks for the video. I was wondering if name tags take villager spawned iron golems from the mob cap. I have an idea for iron golem based body guards, and player spawned golems do not attack players. Thanks!
One thing you left out, to increase golem spawn rates, is to remove the lava. Tame five cats that the villagers spawn, place them in a case beneath your farm, replace the lava, and then the villagers will ONLY spawn golems. Because if they spawn a cat, that removes a golem spawn as they can spawn one or the other. But having five tamed cats in the area prohibits the villagers from spawning a sixth cat as five is the cap for 20 villagers. So you’ll get much much much more iron.
Is that true on Bedrock? I'm in a seemingly unique situation where my entire base is overrun with Villagers. I tamed over 20 cats and have them stationed around to keep Phantoms away, but there's always new cats.
@@DFWHoppe Yeah, I play on bedrock. But it depends how many villagers you have and how far spread apart they are. For the classic bedrock "Dig-a-Hole-in-the-ground"-Iron Farm I always recommend to dig two "service entries". One to the bed floor and one to reach the working stations. Everytime I notice that they lost connection and Golems stop spawning I have fast access to beds and stations 👍

Honestly your video on iron farm + trading hall is the answer to these problems. By having the trading hall, it keeps the villagers linked to their work stations easily which can otherwise be difficult to do on bedrock because of the order of villagers working. And it means I dont have to build two farms hundreds of blocks apart for what i want in one.

Thank you so so much i made your iron golem farm and it wasn't working so i looked at this and I found out that villagers had to have there work station right in front of them so I fixed that and now it works amazing!
My iron farm has been working perfectly up until the last fix a couple weeks back; now my golems are occasionally spawning under the farm! They're fenced in so I know they're still spawning in range, I doubled up the leaves on the border to be sure, I dug down another 3 layers underneath to be sure, put leaves over the beds because they kept spawning on them as well. Not sure what to do anymore to fix it! (I have a wall 100 blocks out in every direction to make sure I have no beds/workstations within range as well)
Make sure if you have the farm type where the villagers are trapped in a 1 block space and there are ten of them, make sure the water is in the cage, I had everything else perfectly set up but that threw me off
I still have the 20 villager, 10 bed iron farm built from your previous video and it’s working great... Did something happen that will break that design?
What do you do about the villagers unlinking from their stations regardless of standing in water or not. I have also had them completely switch trades in my trading hall when they are fully maxed out. I have reported the bug, but it doesn't seem like mojang really cares to fix it with the update coming up. I had reported it like 6 months ago or better.
@@jacobjenkins805 of course! They won't link to the work stations without them. I got it fixed. I had to eliminate all the villagers and I moved the whole farm.
Same I linked all my villagers to there respective workstations and beds but they aren't even spawning cats please tell me if you found the answer to this on another video
Not the most technical player, but I'd try checking if there ar any OTHER villagers in the area, even if the villagers in the farm are correctly linked to everything, having more villagers/linkable blocks around the farm could bug it. Bugrock. You could also try checking the area around for any golems, if there are golems around, ofc the farm won't spawn any more. Do /kill @e [type=iron_golem] and see if that works out for you. I could be wrong at things but worth a try. Peace
When i made mine it didnt work because my villagers were too cramped in one space and couldnt reach their workstations, so i only kept 10 villages and gave them space to walk and it worked for me
Can you build iron farms in the nether/end to avoid issues with nearby villager farms or tech? I'd rather put it in another dimension and not worry, just afk there every now and then.
I build a farm without tutorial, just reading the mechanic for my one chunk challenge, at the bottom of my chunk (bedrock) to be unbothered with my village of de-zombified villagers. It was working very well despite behind pretty simple, but suddenly stopped working. Thanks for going though those steps, it help me to figure out what was stunting my farm. Even if it was a simple fix: half got stuck in a wall and weren't reaching their stations (therefore weren't working). Once I remove the relief that was getting them stuck, golem return as normal.
When I originally built the farm (silent's tutorial btw), wanted to build the final version, but the villagers are honestly such a pain so I did the intermediate version instead. But golems did not spawn at all and I was really disappointed. This video helped a lot. The moment I redid the beds and the workstations golems spawned in less than 10 seconds. Highly recommend using silent's tutorial. Will type the rates I got here after 1 hour. Edit: 1 and a half stack of iron afking for 1 hour (without sleeping)
I happened to have half of my villagers turn into zombie villagers, and I really don't know how it happened as the villagers were locked in their glass cabin up in the air.
Figured it out, my farm was only spawning cats. You need to have exactly as many beds as villagers. My villagers kept mating and spawning more and no golems would spawn.
I have built one of your farm. That farm where you have platform campfire on lava block and 10 villagers. I have more than 10 villager in that box and 10 have jobs . Water is there and beds too . I have replaced beds and they are not spawning . Need help Edit: just cat spawns and I'm under the farm . Should i be more away or not?
Did you give them food? If you have only one pod and have 20 beds (the minimum) they probably bred babies and grew up. Your farm probably broke because the babies that grew up ddont have any work benches.
Bro you're a saviour! I placed and broke workstations and beds like 3 times and still won't spawn GOlems... This video made me check villager count... I had 21, and only 20 beds... Thank YYOOOUU!!!
Can you do a video similar to this but for trading halls? The issue I have with my current one is villagers constantly unlink from their workstations or they wont refresh their inventories. It would help a ton. Thank you for all the amazing bedrock content as well!
Leaving a comment to boost engagement- My farm wasnt working, turns out I had 21 villagers and only 20 beds 😅 Used your more recent iron farm and trading hall design, works great! Amazing stuff
Thank you so much! I built your farm but it was not working, and I was too lazy to fix it, but by using the information in this video I was able to create my own (very shabby) iron farm.
THANK YOU so much! My golums were not spawning and I couldn't figure out why. Turned out I had an extra villager. Got rid of him and now my iron farm works!
Silent I need help! Built your starter iron farm in my solo world, works like a charm. Built it on my friends realm, exactly the same, but all I can get is cats. No other workstations, beds or bells in over 100 blocks, and I’ve broken and re linked all the beds and workstations in the farm multiple times. Any other suggestions?
Thank you! I built my iron farm but it didn't work at all, it was the work stations not being directly infront. Saved me a ton of troubleshooting by myself
What if you put a zombie in the middle where the iron golems drops so they go to the lava faster (or instead of zombies any mob that angers the iron golem)?
I have a weird issue with my farm. My bottom layer actually has a slight border around it - it’s completely enclosed, entirely dark, and the height is such that golems can’t spawn there. Up until a month or so ago, I would get a slow but steady stream of other loot (rotten flesh, bones, slimeballs etc) from the other mobs that were spawning. But then, that just suddenly stopped and I have no idea why. The iron farm itself has continued to run absolutely fine.
Silent, can I use the villagers in my iron farm for a villager trading hall? Like separate the villagers from the iron farm into their own cells and use them for trading?
The two biggest challenges I have with Bedrock are villagers un-linking from beds and workstations, and entities despawning across chunk borders. I really hope those will be fixable at some point in the future! Won’t stop villagers from being frustrating though. 😑
Thank you so much! My issue was that I had more villagers than beds. I had 20+ villagers and 20 beds, so I added 4 beds then everything started working.
I had an odd bug with my iron farm. I had the double layer of water streams and it would not spawn golems. As soon as I removed the top layer golems in there masses. Also I used buttons to stop spawns
Thank you so much for this!!! I couldn't get golems to spawn and it turned out that there were somehow 2 extra villagers in my farm so I added 2 beds and it worked straight away!!
This was really really really good info that no other channel gave extremely helpful didn’t know about the minimum villager requirement or the lack of scaring in bedrock thank you for your help
@@dianaschroder7161 I already fixed mine. Try to make sure that there's no nitwit villagers that'll connect to the bed, if they did; kill them, remove the bed, the put it back, get a villager with a job then let it connect to the bed. (If that's what you did but still producing cats, tame 5 cats and lt them stay on the farm.)
My farm wasn’t working for a while, but when watching the video all of a sudden it started working ironically, when you were talking about the only thing I haven’t done and that was lit an entire day pass without sleeping so that way they could work and then have worked for that previous day It is annoying how inconsistent they spawn though
So here is the villager workstation fix I use. Make a 2x2x2 cube, cover the faces of each side with workstations and remove the inner cube. That's 24 workstations max, (20 if you leave the lid off). Fill the space with 20 villagers. Done.
I built an iron farm over the last two days and at first it was spawning golems, though half of them were spawning outside the farm and at some point while I was placing blocks around to keep them from spawning, they just stopped spawning altogether. I had five of my own cats near the farm, so cats weren’t spawning either, but no golems. I tried so many different things (including almost dying to a zombie that I was trying to lead into a box because I had no idea that wasn’t a thing in Bedrock 😝), but came up with no reasons why it wasn’t working. This video was so helpful! Now I have an idea of what might be the problem. I’m feeling a lot less frustrated now, so thank you! I’m brand new to Minecraft, so all the videos I watch take for granted a lot of knowledge about the basic mechanics of the game that I just don’t have. For example, I’d heard people use the term “nitwit” to refer to certain villagers, but I had no idea that meant they were villagers who couldn’t have jobs or what they looked like. And now I’m thinking back to several times I put a work station in front of what I now know was a nitwit over and over again and absolutely confused about why he wasn’t becoming that profession. 🤦♀️😂

@@johnleneriesanroque8156 help Thai exact thing happened to me
Honestly your video on iron farm + trading hall is the answer to these problems. By having the trading hall, it keeps the villagers linked to their work stations easily which can otherwise be difficult to do on bedrock because of the order of villagers working. And it means I dont have to build two farms hundreds of blocks apart for what i want in one.
Thank you so much for this video!! It is absolutely packed with all the knowledge I needed to fix my first iron farm and get it working!

Thank you so so much i made your iron golem farm and it wasn't working so i looked at this and I found out that villagers had to have there work station right in front of them so I fixed that and now it works amazing!
Great video! There are a lot of tutorials but very little actually explain how they work and makes it very hard finding what you made wrong
You are a hero, I took out all my work stations then put them back one at a time & minutes later I am the iron farm master! 😎
Thanks for this. The latest issue I had turned out to be maxed out cat spawns!
Really 20 villager and 10 beds?????
I think you need to re-watch the video and pay closer attention.
No i think you need to it's 20 beds and 10 villagers not 20 villager 10 bed
What do you do about the villagers unlinking from their stations regardless of standing in water or not. I have also had them completely switch trades in my trading hall when they are fully maxed out. I have reported the bug, but it doesn't seem like mojang really cares to fix it with the update coming up. I had reported it like 6 months ago or better.
Do you have beds?
@@jacobjenkins805 of course! They won't link to the work stations without them. I got it fixed. I had to eliminate all the villagers and I moved the whole farm.
can u do a video on how to fix broken villager trading halls and breeders ?
I tried this, but my iron farm still doesn't work.
Peace
@@yuvgrover6100 Yea, I already did that, but still no.
When i made mine it didnt work because my villagers were too cramped in one space and couldnt reach their workstations, so i only kept 10 villages and gave them space to walk and it worked for me

Can you build iron farms in the nether/end to avoid issues with nearby villager farms or tech? I'd rather put it in another dimension and not worry, just afk there every now and then.
maybe the end but they need water so not the nether

Yes
I build a farm without tutorial, just reading the mechanic for my one chunk challenge, at the bottom of my chunk (bedrock) to be unbothered with my village of de-zombified villagers. It was working very well despite behind pretty simple, but suddenly stopped working.
Thanks for going though those steps, it help me to figure out what was stunting my farm. Even if it was a simple fix: half got stuck in a wall and weren't reaching their stations (therefore weren't working). Once I remove the relief that was getting them stuck, golem return as normal.

Thank you for providing the detailed mechanics. It's easy to find for Java, but not as commonly explained for Bedrock.
Edit: 1 and a half stack of iron afking for 1 hour (without sleeping)

typically my farm will work great, summoning a bunch of golems, but then it’ll randomly stop spawning them. is that normal?
Same here I normally notice that's its night I'm very confused anyone know why
i dont know why same happens to me!!
Its usually because its night or it wasn't loaded for long enough or some villagers didn't accually work
If they are the same type of villagers how do some work and others don't??
Ohh ty ty it worked now I made a trading hall below the iron farm and it worked now tysm
Figured it out, my farm was only spawning cats. You need to have exactly as many beds as villagers. My villagers kept mating and spawning more and no golems would spawn.
My farm isn’t spawning iron golems or cats anything I can do?
Just used this on the trading hall farm, thanks so much
I have built one of your farm. That farm where you have platform campfire on lava block and 10 villagers. I have more than 10 villager in that box and 10 have jobs . Water is there and beds too . I have replaced beds and they are not spawning . Need help
Edit: just cat spawns and I'm under the farm . Should i be more away or not?
This is happening to me too
It just keeps on spawning cats. Please help me out if your farm starts working.
Did you give them food? If you have only one pod and have 20 beds (the minimum) they probably bred babies and grew up. Your farm probably broke because the babies that grew up ddont have any work benches.
Same mine is exactly the like told
@@MrPurple-vy8tn does it not work if the extra villagers don’t have jobs??
Bro you're a saviour!
I placed and broke workstations and beds like 3 times and still won't spawn GOlems... This video made me check villager count... I had 21, and only 20 beds...

Can you do a video similar to this but for trading halls? The issue I have with my current one is villagers constantly unlink from their workstations or they wont refresh their inventories. It would help a ton. Thank you for all the amazing bedrock content as well!
Put water on the block on which villagers are standing.
That might help..... :)
You got to get them into a cage where they have access to their workstations, and make sure that all of them are linked to a bed
Leaving a comment to boost engagement- My farm wasnt working, turns out I had 21 villagers and only 20 beds 😅 Used your more recent iron farm and trading hall design, works great! Amazing stuff
Let's just call him 'The chosen one' because minecraft chose his bed to be the centre. Every one will be happy 🙂
Thank you! I love knowing the logic behind these things. With this, I can create my own and not have to rely on someone else’s tutorial.
how did you know I wanted this?
Thank you so much! I built your farm but it was not working, and I was too lazy to fix it, but by using the information in this video I was able to create my own (very shabby) iron farm.
I wouldn’t say there is no reason to have more than 20. My iron farm is a trade hall as well and I use 40 villagers for trading.
there is no reason to have more than 20 villagers if an iron farm is the only purpose.
He meant rates wise it doesn't do anything so yeah you can have more than 20 but you'll still get the same drop rates as the 20 villager iron farm
THANK YOU so much! My golums were not spawning and I couldn't figure out why. Turned out I had an extra villager. Got rid of him and now my iron farm works!

What if you put a zombie in the middle where the iron golems drops so they go to the lava faster (or instead of zombies any mob that angers the iron golem)?
Your videos are good luck, my Iron farm was broken and after I watched it and did ABSOLUTELY nothing, it started working again.
The iron farm itself has continued to run absolutely fine.
how are you killing your Mobs? spawning changed so any light stops spawns

@@akashh435 yeah that’s maddening too - if I understand correctly that’s because the game considers them entities when they’re moving

So here is the villager workstation fix I use. Make a 2x2x2 cube, cover the faces of each side with workstations and remove the inner cube. That's 24 workstations max, (20 if you leave the lid off). Fill the space with 20 villagers. Done.
i dont understand
Can you have 8 iron farms instead of your 4 if you space them out vertically or would they not work
