our trips aligned and it was cool to see your adventures on tweeter while I was on my own! we did a lot of similar stuff but on different days, I was lowkey hoping to bump into you but ah well! glad you had such a wonderful trip
"Because, you know, they're girlfriends" lmaaao I knew I liked this guy. Hibike Euphonium is the greatest love story of all time and I will hear no arguments to the contrary.
You probably already know about these but the vaccum bags are awesome for packing things like clothes and especially those plushes, they compress down so much. I just did 3 weeks in Japan and fit a ton in my carryon using them.
Not sure if he ever mentioned it in an earlier video or on ProZD Plays Games, but I'm always so excited to hear a fellow Akane-banashi enjoyer shoutout the series!
@@MEZOMEZO2011 Not just the fans, the studio itself or whoever was writing the characters (because they are not accurate to their source material), most of the time it would be reasonable scenes that you could just take as a good friendship, and then sometimes there were scenes where you would question what type of friends would ever do that lol
I’ve done this before, use really good glue and it will last a lifetime. I turned the rolling paper packaging into awesome looking magnets. Those flat acrylic figures would be perfect if you use the right amount of glue and the right size magnet. I also collect magnets but I get them only from thrift stores.
2:18 I went to Tokyo DisneySea this past spring when I visited my sister in Japan, but heartbreakingly the Sinbad ride was closed for maintenance then! It’s her favorite ride there too. I hope to get another chance to go someday!
21:40 for displaying lots of pins you can use any photo/picture frame, take out the glass, cover the backing with fabric (I use an old black Tshirt wraped around/cut to fit the frame), fit it back into the frame and pin all the pins to the fabric. Ir works realy well for button pins but some other pins with straight stabby parts can be hard to stick into the frame backing. The biggest benefit to this method is that you can match these pin frames to any other frames you have on your walls or use lots of mini frames to display them with figurines and other merch on bookshelfs
That sure is a *lot* of crane game prizes! I swear, it's almost like you were in a crane game center for 3-4 hours, competing with a Welshman to see who could win the most.
Ohh I love Ace Attorney Tsums Tsums. I recently got into the games over the last few years through the Switch releases. I would love to go to Japan some day but feel like i'd need a lot of spending money 😭
As someone who also literally just got back from Japan I feel you I bought a lot of stuff for my friends and have some many small stuff for myself lol. I already ready know my next trip I will for sure by buying a lot more haha
Hey quick question I’m going to Japan as well but I don’t have a lot of luggage. Did you mail/ship all your extra souvenirs home or did you just buy/fill-up suitcases to bring on the plane ride home?
As someone who just started watching Hamjime no Ippo recently, THAT TAKAMURA IS SICK AF! I saw Ippo on your shelf in another video, and I'm glad Takamura's been added to the collection! I'm only up to like Episode 16 but I can already see why so many people consider it a classic, it's great and I'm loving every minute of it, and it makes me happy to see great merch like this! Thanks for sharing your haul like this, it was really cool to see everything! A lot of the stuff had me going "Ooh!" Like that FF9 music box, oh my gosh, I didn't know that existed but I want one!
not me coming back from six months in Japan having won exactly Three Things in crane games... and you winning all that in two weeks... what is your SECRET
I LOVE the kiki playing cards! I have never seen porco rosso. since I can see you love it a lot, that tells me i'll enjoy it when I eventually watch it lol
The second I saw the haul of FF figures, I thought, "Why would you want those, though?" Then I realized... why wouldn't you want them? You play board games all the time! If the board game doesn't have cool pieces to play with, you can use those, instead!
15:21 that's awesome you managed to get the secret translucent famicom d-pad! I only found out about its existence after I came back from my trip thinking I had the entire set
We got there right after you and literally did so much of the same stuff. The crane game Drifloon was probably my favorite pokemon I won. Got some Nintendo store capsule pulls too, but I heard they have Zonai devices now from TotK 😭
I love that you went all out on a trip like this with the different things you buy, better to have something to remember a place by than to have the little bit of money that comes from not buying it
Hell yea Akanebanashi stuff. I only saw a teensy bit when I visited at a Jump store. Also glad you had a good time and got so much Senshi stuff too haha. I actually got the one Senshi coaster signed by you a lil while back :)
Fun fact, the reason the Sinbad ride slaps as much as it does is cause the song that plays in the ride "Compass of Your Heart" was written by Alan Menken. (I also own a large sized Chandu, he must be protected at all costs)
In relation to your want for more magnets rather than pins, there are pin backings that turn said pins into magnets ( ´∀` )b it is an extra thing you have to buy but I think it's worth it (o^-')b !
18:00-18:30 Ooh, FFX is my favorite, and you got several of those characters! "Lulu!" I exclaimed, then had to rewind for ten seconds and watch more closely. 🥰💜🖤
A little weird of a question, but how much would you recommend to prep for a trip to Japan? My fiancee and I both want to visit there and are thinking to honeymoon there. We're not trying to be high class or anything, just enough to spend a week there and enjoy the trip. Edit: Money, I feel like I need to mention money because I have enough preparation H.
I just went to Japan in September so I have recent numbers! Roundtrip airfare was about $1500 for me from the western US. Hotels averaged us about $130 a night for 3-4 star places close to major metro stations. From there it’s up to how much you think you’ll spend on food, experiences, and souvenirs. Tickets to Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea were about $65 for a single day. Food was very affordable and if you’re from the US, the exchange rate is still favorable rn so a dollar goes far.
I was in Japan the week before you went so I was internally screaming when I saw all your updates. 😭 It would’ve been a pleasure to run into you somehow! Also super jealous you got to go to the Dungeon Meshi collab cafe in Odaiba D: I was looking for Dungeon Meshi merch everywhere in Akihabara and only managed to get a Senshi Nendoroid. (still a REALLY good find tho)
watching these videos i frequently forget you're a really accomplished voice actor. i wonder if you'd have fanboys/fangirls if you went to japan and told people you were the english voice of a very popular character from a very popular anime lol
Cool haul. I have also just returned home from Japan. Where did you get the Monomi plushie? I struggled to find much Danganronpa merch just acrylic stands and an art book.
Ahahaha, I also used my DisneySea popcorn bucket to hold all my gatchapon treasures on my trip home!! (Mine was a Tangled one, which I got because it has a little Pascal on the strap. I love lizards.)
I am so about so much of this stuff, but the Donald love makes me happy, I have always loved the Disney ducks. A friend of mine grabbed me some FFXIV stuff on his recent trip, but it's stuck in shipping hell because Canada Post is on strike. >< The FF9 music box is so cute too!
I don't remember really playing geisterblitz but i also know it's an great game I know off.One of my favorite games as a Kid was from the same company named Au Backe. Funny that they even made the german game to japan, but great games deserve everyone

Instead of filming your trip in Japan, you give us the pov of a friend getting the story when you get back. And souvenirs! Truly immersive.
Wow, Sungwon is single-handedly holding up Japan's economy lol

I saw you at Disneysea on Halloween! I was too shy to say hello, but I'm glad you had a good trip!
you can buy plain magnets and then use glue to turn all your favorite pins into magnets for your fridge!
Or get pin backs that are magnets can work too
That’s brilliant! Thank you - I’ll have to try it

SungWon:"With the pins I'm like where am I gonna put these"
Also SungWon: *has 100 crane game plushies*
I saw you in the film Blackberry!! Omg what a pleasant surprise it was! Congrats on getting that role, and you were great! :)
It was really nice watching you unpack everything and talk about your trip. Loved the end as well

Aw, that last plushie was adorable! Glad you had fun on your trip!
I don’t know why that “Holo Homies” felt so nice to hear but it did. I think it’s because I’ve never been called a homie before.😆💛
Holo homies? Didn't he say hello homies
Holo?
Sungwon watches Hololive confirmed

Hibike euphonium mentioned!!!!! Masterpiece
The fact you can get sound euphonium plush in crane games goes to show how awesome Japan is.

Super glue your pins to magnets. Make sure you glue it to the correct side
When that FF9 music box started playing...oof right in the feels.
