  • Trio Azul was born on a surprise gig at the Blue Note club in São Paulo, Brazil when North American Cindy Borgani was called to sit in with the Brazilian instrumentalists, Daniel Grajew (piano) and Zeli Silva (bass). Brought together by Chico Macedo(saxophones), Trio Azul presents here a spur-of-the-moment surprise version of Charlie Parker’s Anthropology with new lyrics penned by Cindy Borgani and a delightful solo by Chico Macedo on Baritone saxophone
“They say that Anthropology is the new way to understand the world and how people play.
I hope you’re ready to sit down, because the truth will make you see things in a new way!
Back when Parker and Dizzy did play, life was tough.
God-given talent was just never enough. Locked out of white clubs, still they tried creating music that abides by fair rules, no one denied.
Jazz was the legacy they left us while sitting on the back of the bus. The Black Gold of our land, America’s real treasure. How can it be She still can’t understand?
Gillespie, Parker, Basie and Monk, Ellington, and Ella, Sarah Vaughn, …the list just goes on.
When will it dawn on everyone: studying everything they’ve done will help us all become one!”
