    Thank you so much for responding. After posting I reread the instructions. What a dummy. I was trying to twine under each warp thread instead of the 1st warp in each pair. I also had the idea I was warping too tightly . I’m using the Maxi. The cording I was give by Mary Walker where I purchased the looms. It was too thick for me. She was using it for her CF loom with no problems so I just need some practice. I did use the two ply Jagger Spun. I re-warped and used some churro sport for the twining.. not as strong as Cording but everything went fine this time. I live in Idaho and am taking Navajo Bootcamp in Missoula, Mt. in May. I have three Mirrix looms. Thank you again! Patty

      Glad you are going to take the boot camp. Mary and Jenny both use Maxi looms and can give you more help.

    Thanks for another great video. I’ve ordered your book and I’m hoping to order yarn next so that I can get started weaving.

    I appreciate your videos as I purchased two Cactus Flower Looms and the book. I found the warping directions confusing in the book. . I had problems with warp and cording wearing thin or breaking when trying to pull both back through the pin slot. I used Jagger Spun worsted warp. I wish I could see better as the camera angle is not showing a close up of the pegs and the black cording is invisible against the black loom.

      Is the Jagger Spun a two, three or four ply? What size loom are you working on? I'd recommend the two ply. What are you using for the end cord? If you are having problems with the end cord breaking, try using the warp thread for the end cord. That is, if it is two or more ply. How tight are you warping up? You might try warping up looser and that will make it easier to pull the yarn through the pegs. Where did you buy your loom? Where do you live? You might benefit from a class where you get individual instruction.

    Hello, Thank you so much for all of your videos. They are helpful. I’m having entwining on my mini loom. It is warped with 12/6 seine twine and I was using 8/4 carpet warp for the entwining. However, I am not able to pull it through the end pins the way you demonstrate on your video. It is too thick to pull through the loom pins. What should I use to warp the loom and also what should I use for entwining in order for it to fit through the pins. What would you recommend? Many thanks

      Try cotton crochet thread for the warp. You can always switch to wool when you have some experience. For the end twining use a two ply fairly thin yarn. Just make sure it’s very strong so it doesn’t break when you’re pulling it through. Some people use the warp thread for the end twining.

    Hi , and thanks for all your videos, very helpful. I’m having trouble with the end twining on my mini loom. I am using 12/6 seine twine for the warp, and 8/4 carpet warp for the end twining. I can’t pull the ends of the warp and twining between the loom pins, it is too tight. So what should I warp the mini loom with, and what should I use for the end twining? What would you recommend? Thanks-

      Sorry I’m so late responding to your question. I’m roasting in Phoenix right now. 🥵

    I just got my first cactus flower loom. I raise Navajo Churro sheep so am excited to use my own fiber for projects. Where do you get your wool warp? I bought some rug weight warp to try some Navajo cinches but it seems too heavy for projects on my maxi loom

      I get mine from Tierra Wools. Their website is www.handweavers.com. I like the 2-ply blanket warp for my mini and maxi looms. I use the 4-ply rug warp on the table loom.

    wondering if worsted churro would be too thick for the maxi loom???

      I use both worsted and sport weight on the maxi loom. Churro is not as forgiving so be sure to lay it in gently so it doesn’t pull in.

    Hi Caroline, really enjoy your videos. I do have a question about the springs on my mini loom. I have had the loom many years and the springs don't seem to put enough tension on the warp. They barely move when I take out the top pegs. What kind and size of springs did you use so I can replace them? Thanks so much.

      Try compressing the top bar one more hole before warping. That should solve your problem. If you feel you need to replace them, I think they are size 76 compression springs. The easiest way is to just take one to the hardware store and get the same size. Happy weaving!

    I have a Cactus table loom and now I want to use sport weight yarn, how should the peg bar be warped? Spacing

    • @carolinespurgeon6016
      @carolinespurgeon6016  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use a heavy wool warp - like a 4-ply. Space it at every slot. Try and see if that works. Be sure to lay enough in so it doesn't pull in.
