      Hello ! Great videos, can't wait to see the finished result. Question please : Is this Polymeric Sand (like cement where you only need to pour water on it, to seal everything) you are using for the smaller stones at the end ? Is it available in Japan, if so what is the brand please....?

      Thanks for watching the video.
      The sandy thing that holds these pebbles in place is a mixture of cement and sand. So, it's probably sold everywhere.

    I love to surround myself with nice rocks and stone basins, good soil, wonderful plants, running and still water, and koi! That would be my paradise.

    Love all your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!! We lived in Japan almost four years, and want to recreate some aspects of the beautiful Japanese Gardens, now that we are back in the states. Thanks soo much for showing each step along the way.

      Thank you for your encouragement and wonderful videos! Am watching one for the underground water beautiful sounds garden feature. I remember walking in Shiritori Garden or possibly Tsuraimi (I think it was) and having this feature pointed out by our guides and how beautiful the sound listening through the long bamboo. We hope to make one in our Japanese Garden and your video helps tremendously!! Would love any and all additional videos you choose to share. Am also really appreciating your videos with rock placement. The subtleties involved with decisions in rock type and placement are something our American Garden design does not always understand. I have many Japanese books and even the old ones(!) but to see it executed properly answers lots of questions! Thank you so very much for time and effort you put into your videos! Warm regards and much continued success in your business.
      We loved our time in Nagoya (the Osu Cannon area was easy walking distance and I found many wonderful books there, as well as, wonderful fun to just explore! My husband would run to Tsuraimi each Weekend. Of course Hanami was an experience we treasure there, as well! Hope your future allows for much travel! It is truly wonderful to see all different things! We felt we would love our time in Japan, and we did!!!

    Question: what do you use to set the stone? It looks like wet mortar or concrete mix. Thanks

    Hello-
    Are the stones placed on dry mortar, or a special mixture?

    • @aaroncain6794
      @aaroncain6794 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe that is the case probably a mortar mix 3-1 ratio sand/cement. I've only really seen this done in japan

    • @seanboyle2455
      @seanboyle2455 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aaroncain6794 it does look like dry mortar, then the water is mopped on at the end. But will that mix sufficiently to set right? Would be a nice way to work out good joints without having to remove the whole layout then redo it for mortar
