Right! But gotta say that's a pretty 'solutions oriented' way of thinking. If I ever end up getting another Mac, I think I'll do this as well(with the SD port facing the side! ;-)
That D&O light and battery combo is fire. One of the owners of the company came to my studio after the review I made, and brought 3 more of the panels to test. They're going back to the manufacture with a few improvements and some advice I gave on how to make it even more awesome.. definitely plan on seeing it show up on my channel again soon.
I love the way they keep working on it! I’d also suggest that make the screws where the light meets the stand more beefy, no matter how I tighten them it has a ton of wobble
In this video the 300d is going direct into the diffusion. Sometimes I’ll also use a soft box to cut the shadow even more. I should pick up a roll of Full White too
I use the Lexar and they are the best deal. You bought the slowest write speed Lexar cards available in the pro series... What you're looking for on the cards is V30, V60, V90 The Sony cards write at V90(Very fast) The Lexar write V90 as well... Your cards are blank which means they are very slow(Maybe below V30)
wow.. i literally just switched over to the Sony TOUGH series sd cards from Lexar as well. I do find the Sony works well with EOS R vs the Lexar, i'm glad you've made this video 🙏
Hi Tyler, I discovered you on Gerald’s studio tour and being from Calgary myself many moons ago, thought I’d better come over to your channel for a look and to say hello. Wish you well with your channel and your commercial work.
Why do you have so many 64 gb cards instead of 128 or 256 gb? To avoid losing a big card if it fails? I personally use 2x256gb Sandisk Exteme Pro for Sony a7III and they can hold about 5000 shots which is enough for a full day of non stop shooting. I also don't use card readers, I just plug in my Sony directly to the iMac via USB C. The transfer speed is good enough so that by the time I get the dinner ready the full SD card is already on the hard drive. It also decreases the chance of the card going bad since I don't have to remove it from the camera and stick it in the card reader everyday.
In the US we can't simultaneously record and transmit on the Deity HD-TX, due to patent restrictions. Does the Canadian version both record and transmit at the same time?
That is absolutely true and I don’t think I articulated my frustrations with them clearly enough. Regardless if they do create faster cards I feel they intentionally obscure the true speeds, plus they physically break way too easily,
@@stalman also the two cards you showed I believe are different standards. the Sony being UHS-II, the newer standard. Older cameras wont be able to utilise this speed.
I literally found that one lying around the house I can remember where it came from 😅 but I have seen a few on Amazon, it only needs to be USB 3.0 Gen2
hi, I have the Deity connect, and also had the same cutting in and out issue... emailed Deity and they got back to me with a couple solutions, one being to increase the latency on the TX, and... that solved the issue! hope the info works for the people who have this issue.
I’m sure that sandisks marked at the same speeds as Sony perform as advertised, my issues is that they are intentionally withholding unfavourable specs from being marked on the product, so you have to either search the internet or do your own tests to find out. I can’t speak to having difficulty removing the cards, that’s been a non-issue with three different cameras
@@stalman Thanks for the response! #ASKSTALMAN Hey Tyler, greetings from Sydney. Thanks for your sharing your personal experience with the Deity Connect and sorry to hear you have had a couple of gremlins with it of late. I appreciate your insights and am an avid listener of your podcast. As a solo crew (I am a hybrid shooter and use a 1DX2) I have found the Deity Connect the most appealing twin mic system since it was first launched a year ago, and I joined the Facebook group. I just sent Andrew Jones a question about its compatibility with my system (particularly my WFT-e8A wireless transmitter that I use with an iPad as a remote monitor and focus puller for my 1DX2 whilst filming) and he responded personally with zero latency! Impressive. I am looking at the Deity Connect for interviews and documentary work. Permit me a couple of questions… How have you found self-noise issues with the system? Are you adjusting EQ to overcome this in post? has the 19ms latency been a problem (now through to 100ms in crowded wi-fi environments)? do you adjust for latency in post? I was wondering about the ZOOM H6 or the F4/6 as part of my expanded audio workflow, but most folks like you and Curtis Judd are loving the MixPre3 II. Do you plug your Deity Connect into your MixPre3 II and send a balanced line out to your camera or just output direct from the RX to the camera? Many thanks, Spike
Why is it that none of these TH-camr's accessories lists for filmmakers never contain or even mention having a light meter? It is an essential tool despite all the in camera tools provided and an industry tool for doing professional work.
