      The issue is not so much the firearms themselves but rather the oppressive regime of Turkey and its dismal history regarding human rights. It is ironic that we view the buying of firearms as evidence of our personal freedoms, when these firearms are made in a country which has no respect for them.

    It's interesting that SAR and Rossi are both releasing models of .357/.38 revolvers right now. It would be great if you could do a comparison video between the Rossi and SAR revolvers, they re both budget revolvers that feel like they are heavy duty. I think the Rossi has a transfer bar and that could be important to some people. Are we going to see more revolvers coming out in the near future? I grew up on revolvers and it seems like there are more and more people that are getting back into shooting revolvers in large calibers. I know that the polymer pistols are beginning to feel like they are too similar and many shooters are getting back into heavy duty, metal firearms, especially revolvers. Thanks for the review. Stay safe buddy.

    I love revolvers. This looks like a budget S&W 686, but with a ski-jump front sight. What's with the black crane, cylinder release, trigger and hammer? Out of place on a nice stainless revolver. The grips look like Hogue Monogrip, so maybe they have a wood grip for the SAR. Or, if the grip frame is the same as Smith K/L frame, maybe Altamont has a grip for it. And does it extract full length .357 cases?

  • @garyK.45ACP
    @garyK.45ACP ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Looks like a nice revolver, Dan.👍
    Their biggest error? Not making the grip frame to match the S&W K-L series size and tap into a ready after market of grips. Rossi and Taurus did that with their new revolver models.
    Anyone making a revolver now, should take advantage of existing markets for accessories...holsters, grips, sights speed loaders. Requiring difficult to obtain, proprietary accessories which are often changed for personal preference is a really bad business decision.
    That said...it *looks like* the rear sight removes for optics installation. Does it? Seems like under that sight base is a flat top strap. That means possibilities.
    THAT would be a good move in today's market. I like the thinner front sight. I like to see some "daylight" on either side of the blade.

    • @TheFirearmGuy
      @TheFirearmGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Solid points. I don't think it will accept an optic

    • @garyK.45ACP
      @garyK.45ACP ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheFirearmGuy I was afraid of that.
      As I typed my comment, I thought "No, Dan wouldn't *forget* to mention it can mount an optic"
      Another missed opportunity by Sarsilmaz.
      I have been impressed with the three Turkish made guns I own, very impressed. But many people are still skeptical. They need to take advantage of every opportunity to sell their guns. If they are going to come out with a new model, they need to adapt it for all the current "bells and whistles".
      Taurus is making optics ready revolvers.
      Manufacturers just can't leave this "low hanging fruit" on the tree.

    The SR-38 is essentially a 586/686 clone. In theory RB L frame grips should fit it. BERETTA9mmUSA reviewed one and had some K/L Altamont on it. I want to pick one of these up for a trail defense beater at some point but will likely replace the grips because I don't like the look of the Hogue-likes that come on them.
