snaggle tooth's backstory from both legends and cannon, i love how detailed his back story is for a throwaway sfx artist's creation "Zutton was a tortured artist who became a bounty hunter by chasing down Thalassian slavers. Like most Snivvians, was driven to live out the stories he created. He commonly spent his money from selling pieces of art on spice, and frequently visited the cantinas in Mos Eisley, such as Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina. His paintings captured his friends and associates, those who haunted cantinas such as those in Jabba's Palace, or possibly, his targets. As well as being an artist, he was also an author and created stories of some of the frequent patrons in Chalmun's Cantina. Zutton's work for Jabba the Hut was motivated by the need to support and look after his spice addicted brother Takeel. His bounty hunting skills were well developed, and he had built up a reputation in the Outer Rim as an efficient, decent hunter, whom even his targets and law enforcement could respect."
Blue Snaggletooth was never released back in the days in France but the action figure photo was on the French card back from 1979 to 1982! it is also funny that the main photo art of on the blister card comes from the 1978 Holiday special shooting set. So many stories for this Cantina back ground character.
I'd be up for a Kenner tribute series, and I'm not even a Star Wars fan. Anything that reaches that level of fan service just automatically demands my money, no matter what the franchise is.
Hallmark did Snaggletooth in their plush Itty Bitty line for Star War Celebration in 2017. The red version came on a card and was limited to 500 pieces each day of the convention. The blue one didn't have a card, and was limited to 250 per day.
The gun for Blue Snaggletooth is specific to the figure itself. It's the same type of blaster as many others, but there is a specific color that only came with the figure.
Another awesome video! I got my first action figure (Darth Maul) in 1999 and started collecting in 2005 - I didn’t know the story about blue Snaggletooth before...and now I do, so thank you very much for sharing!
Toy Galaxy And thank you for your reply! I really enjoy watching your reviews! You make videos with content of such high quality. And it’s always hilarious when George appears on screen ascending from one of the corners...Best regards from Germany!
Lucky for me my mom loved the sears catalog as I grew up in 70s. She worked 30 yrs in a GM factory, and it made life easier for her to just order stuff over the phone. Before she passed, she had discovered the internet. Candy Crush and shopping lol. I replaced most of the figures I gave away to the kids next door when I "outgrew" toys, but the blue Snaggletooth is the one I never did. For the 200 or so bucks, I would rather spend it on a Hot Toy, or towards the X Force SDCC pack.
Last summer, I grabbed a lot of old Star Wars for 10 bucks at a community sale that had this one in it. Really wish I had looked through the bin before I offered to grab it for him.
Ahh, I remember back in the day when I saw PickleHead Four Arms open up for Slim Jim Snowman lol I swear all them character names sound like odd band names lol
Toy Galaxy Years ago, like around 1982-3, I was flying the x- wing fighter around my room. We had just rescued " Hoth" Luke Skywalker. ( One of the coolest looking figures, from one of the coolest scenes from TESB....) Luke slipped off the wing, and fell through an open heater pipe that went straight down to the basement, and furnace. I was devastated. Fast forward to the mid 1990s, and I'm working on the first floor heater pipes in the wall, as I'm cleaning out debris, and insulation from around the pipe, I spot something .......laying among the dust and dirt inside the wall, was "Hoth" Luke! As it turns out, that heater pipe wasn't connected, and he fell TESB style, right down the shaft and into the space behind the wall. He even still had the pinkish nail polish under his foot. ( I painted under my figures feet with moms nail polish, so when playing outside with friends, we would not get our figures mixed up) I was in my mid 20s when I found him in that wall, and as I held him, it brought back that memory of losing him, and being disappointed that he was gone forever. Like a 7 year old I ran to tell my mom that I had found him, waving him around proudly, like I had really accomplished something. I still have him, and this great memory. That's what it's all about.
I remember you could get him by sending in Kenner box tops / proof of purchases. Not that long ago they came out with a “Zutton” figure as a part of the modern “Vintage Collection”. It’s a much more movie accurate version of the Snaggletooth character; complete with an unsightly asymmetrical hunchback 😄
I had ( maybe I still have ?) Blue Snaggletooth and the Cantina playset with Greedo, Walrus-man, Hammerhead. I also had/have Red Snaggletooth. A new Black Series release of the Cantina Playset Figures Would be GREAT! Alpha Flight ...? Hint at next video?
i like to collect rare and strange figures...the only obstacle is the price :( so dan wht do u think of the newly announced boba fett movie? wht character would u like to play in the movie if given the chance?
I had one of those Blue Snaggletooths when I was a kid. I gave it to my friend's kids. They tossed it in the garbage. You know, this gun barrel tastes funny....
I actually think a rerelease of the vintage figures as close to the originals as possible would do well, they are certainly more durable than the modern figures. Plus a lot of us old guys have some nostalgia for them.
I don't mind him but have no desire to pay that much for him. I would like a star wars film to have a bunch of tall blue pilot suited "snaggletooths" have a walk on or by appearance
Yep I borrowed my friend's original Blue Snaggletooth. to show him at the end of my 'Kenner Radio Controlled Jawa Sandcrawler & Action Figures' video. Back in the day he got the Sears exclusive cantina. I already had the full 3D Kenner one and the art on the backdrop of the Sears was not that good. And I had Cantina Aliens. His Aunt said "It's a piece of cardboard!" Later on I went with the Cloud City playset instead. The cardboard backdrop was semi 3D and looked a lot better. Came with figures I didn't already have. Had a cool looking Han solo. and I thought the Ugnaught would be worth something. Little did we know Blue Snaggletooth would be the guy worth something. I was looking thru my friend's collection a few years ago. I found blue Snaggletooth in his Kenner carrying case. I said do you know what you have? lol It's in near mint condition. He's not selling it though. MTFBW
Doesn't help that that Pan & Scan "formatted to fit Your screen" "Full Screen" , or any other non Widescreen/letterbox versions of Star Wars, A New Hope do not show this character at all.
Hello I just picked up a blue snaggletooth action figure with a larger foot then the other , can someone comment on this is this a rear item from the manufacturer...thanks for helping
Coolest figure Star Wars ever produced by far... Okay, that was obviously a joke, but what's sillier is the fact that even now, these 5POA figures are still being sold. That's down to the fandom I guess, who apparently aren't bothered by the fact that 80s GI Joe figures possessed better articulation than Star Wars figures being made today. Go figure...
I got the Sears exclusive Cloud City Playset. It looked more substantial and the figures looked better overall than the Cantina 'playset' and I already had the Creature Cantina. I thought the Ugnaught would be worth something. It isn't lol My friend got the Cantina with Blue Snaggletooth. His Aunt said 'It's a peice of cardbaord!' she had a point lol His cousin had a vinyl caped Jawa. I have the RC Jawa Sandcrawler (I uploaded creative videos of that Blue Snaggleooth makes a cameo in) amongst other things.
It is a mostly recycled piece yes, but with new additions added to it. Think of it as a "Special Edition." We were a much smaller channel when the original was posted. Literally 90% of our audience never saw it.
I found a Blue Snaggletooth at my local specialty/antique shop. I only paid $18. He's missing some paint but he's got tight joints and in good condition otherwise. That was just last month. I still can't believe it.

Great stuff, my Dan!
Thanks, Dan!
The name of the frontman for the Modal Nodes is Figrin D’an.
I’ll just leave that here
I'd be up for a Kenner tribute series, and I'm not even a Star Wars fan. Anything that reaches that level of fan service just automatically demands my money, no matter what the franchise is.
Love the script cheats on your palms.
Hallmark did Snaggletooth in their plush Itty Bitty line for Star War Celebration in 2017. The red version came on a card and was limited to 500 pieces each day of the convention. The blue one didn't have a card, and was limited to 250 per day.
I didn't know about those two. That's AWESOME. Just googled them. That's great.
The gun for Blue Snaggletooth is specific to the figure itself. It's the same type of blaster as many others, but there is a specific color that only came with the figure.
I found a Blue Snaggletooth at a flea market for $5. He is now in a safe with my Revenge of the Jedi patch.
Now that's what I call collecting!
Got one for pretty cheap as well. Just sold it for $160 on OfferUp
I can give ya double what ya paid for it
I definitely need a Hammerhead/Ithorian black series figure.
Yes! I love the Oddities series! And yes, you are too fabulous for us Dan.
[Twirls then bows]. No, no, it YOU who are the fabulous ones.
Another awesome video! I got my first action figure (Darth Maul) in 1999 and started collecting in 2005 - I didn’t know the story about blue Snaggletooth before...and now I do, so thank you very much for sharing!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Toy Galaxy
And thank you for your reply! I really enjoy watching your reviews! You make videos with content of such high quality. And it’s always hilarious when George appears on screen ascending from one of the corners...Best regards from Germany!
I usually keep a notebook with info on it, but hands work too.
Apparently SOMEONE isn't washing their hands between videos.
You use what you have. They were important notes that I didn't want to forget.
@@SecretGalaxyTV "Howard Tha Duck" and "Alpha Flight" ???
Man, the pain, fights, bad trades this thing brought on my childhood...
Those silver boots are something Cousin Eddy would have given Snaggletooth when visiting the farm or rolling in for Christmas.
Lucky for me my mom loved the sears catalog as I grew up in 70s. She worked 30 yrs in a GM factory, and it made life easier for her to just order stuff over the phone. Before she passed, she had discovered the internet. Candy Crush and shopping lol.

Hot Toys should do a Blue Snaggletooth.
Last summer, I grabbed a lot of old Star Wars for 10 bucks at a community sale that had this one in it. Really wish I had looked through the bin before I offered to grab it for him.
rockin' the palm tats. respect.
4:12 what is written on your hands?
"Exit, stage Left even!" - Pink Snagglepuss
Oddities is a national treasure.
Can't wait in 30 years we can get a episode about the ultra rare "6 Black Series Zuvio.......
Another good idea for oddities is transformers machine wars.
I love this show. Please do the Pimp Daddy Destro soon!
Ahh, I remember back in the day when I saw PickleHead Four Arms open up for Slim Jim Snowman lol I swear all them character names sound like odd band names lol
Slim-Jim Snowman, and Woflman-man are my favories.....OTHER THAN PRUNEFACE!! WHEN THE FACE IS A PRUNE ACTION GOES *BOOM!*
I second the idea of a Kenner tribute wave. Man, I would love a Black Series version of every figure I had as a kid!
I mean, first, we need to have *A* Walrusman, Snaggletooth, Hammerhead et al. But after that... Kenner colors.
I wish I had known that when I was younger. I had all four of those figures when I was a kid.
So many figures that have become valuable but I would trade them all for my Bespin Luke...I miss that figure 😢
Bespin Luke isn't that expensive. You can get him on ebay any time. Or do you mean, specifically the one you owned?
Nicholas Dickens yellow hair, lots of memories from that figure
Toy Galaxy yeah, the one I owned, Dad got it for me, along with Slave-1 and Luke’s land speeder...one of those out of the spur of the moment things
Toy Galaxy Years ago, like around 1982-3, I was flying the x- wing fighter around my room. We had just rescued " Hoth" Luke Skywalker. They were a couple, actually secret lovers behind the cantina! However I would imagine that snaggle tooth would be snaggling painful!
Yes! I would be all over a Black Series Kenner Tribute wave... especially a Black Series Blue Snaggletooth!
Pretty sure I have one in a box somewhere, no clue where he is though. I might have given him to good will at some point when I stopped collecting
This story has a sad ending. Hoping for better from the sequel.
I think Snaggletooth appears in the red suit in the holiday special.
Dang! I had that figure. I used to wonder why he was different from the red version.
And you let it slip through your fingers.
Me too. Lost him at church daycare. Got a repro now, very happy!
I got one. Been meaning to get a red version for a long time.
(Hint at previous video more like it).
A Mighty Boosh cameo!
i like to collect rare and strange figures...the only obstacle is the price :( so dan wht do u think of the newly announced boba fett movie? wht character would u like to play in the movie if given the chance?
Anybody notice the "Howard the Duck" and "Alpha Flight" written on his hands
it would be an SDCC exclusive if they made a Black Series of the Blue Snaggletooth.
They new from the beginning was gonna be big deal :P the only one who was in the dark was uncle Lucas 😂😂😂😂😂
Guy had a lot on his plate! He was busy!
A black series blue snaggletooth? I would buy 20 of them.
Hey Dan don't forget to pick up some Howard tha Duck and Alpha Flight at the store after work!
Had the blue Snaggletooth as a kid, but over time it got pretty beat up as I recall and now days I have no memory to its ultimate fate :(
Maybe you lost it at the beach. I lost a lot of figures at the beach when I was a kid.
No, though family were avid beach-goers. I think given the rough nature I did play with it... the odds of its survival to today are remote ;)
I have one, but I dont know where to sell it
Are there any variations between the other three figures from this playset and their carded versions?
I was always a bit puzzled by the regular Snaggletooth figure. After Timothy Zahn's trilogy came out, I thought of him as one of the Noghri.
That works.
They need a two set of both figures.
Also with a spare blaster.
Not that I'm still bitter about loosing his on Christmas day.
Best part is that clone wars canonized the look!
Oddities is the best.
3:11 that's what she said.
I had one of those Blue Snaggletooths when I was a kid. I gave it to my friend's kids. They tossed it in the garbage.
You know, this gun barrel tastes funny....
will be looking for that figure at garage/yard sales hehe
I actually think a rerelease of the vintage figures as close to the originals as possible would do well, they are certainly more durable than the modern figures. Plus a lot of us old guys have some nostalgia for them.
So I just found one of these with the blaster, no box. Is that still worth something?
Is the dent foot or non dent foot blue snaglepuss more rare or is the rarity about the same.
Rory Lumley bout the same
I thought YakFace was the holy grail of SW figures (besides the loose rocket Boba prototypes).
Sure, for fans of Joe Camel. I'll take disco boots here instead.
blah Yak Face probably isn't even in the Top 5 of vintage Star Wars Holy Grails.
show me a blue Yakface and I'll get impressed
Toy Galaxy What about " Vinyl Cape" Jawa? You gotta love a figure that wears a rain poncho, when he lives on a desert planet.....😃
Not even close
They should release a 6 inch black series blue snaggletooth. Just for fun LOL
I don't mind him but have no desire to pay that much for him.
I would like a star wars film to have a bunch of tall blue pilot suited "snaggletooths" have a walk on or by appearance
You forgot to mention: the photos were also very often black and white.
great disco boots!!!
awesome
I'm guessing Kenner had a problem with figures having inaccurate heights, but inaccurate clothing not so much.
Yep I borrowed my friend's original Blue Snaggletooth. to show him at the end of my 'Kenner Radio Controlled Jawa Sandcrawler & Action Figures' video. here from Nerd City

haha. Big ups for the Ace Frehley reference. \m/
[Explosions!]
haha Glam-Rock Snaggletooth is timeless
Another great video!
Space pants now, please!
Space wardrobe, stat!
What’s written on your hands?
The reason he doesnt match the character in the Cantine in the film is because hes actually from the Holiday Special..... its true
I got the Sears exclusive Cloud City Playset. It looked more substantial and the figures looked better overall than the Cantina 'playset' and I already had the Creature Cantina. Howard the Duck and Alpha Flight? On things on the palms mate.
Speaking of sears I got caught stealing there when I was little! yes I was stealing a GI Joe blowtorch figure ahh the memories! 😎
you stole nothing. you were liberating it from the vile clutches of the big corporations.
Was this a new video, meaning today 5/24?
Daniel Herrin I swear I've seen this before as well.
My dad owns this figure from when he was a kid and when he found out how much it's worth he put it in a glass case and is debatikng over selling it
Hard to put a pricee on sentimental value.
Hard to... but not impossible.
my mind made me think "snagglepuss", I thought, well, he is pink so... blue would be rare. Mind, you betrayed me
PICKLEHEAD FOREARMS!
Weirdly, I think I had that Blue one, but the Mandela Effect could actually be in effect here..
It's very possible. Either of those statements.
This was my very 1st star wars figure. The standard version, i mean
6 inch blue snaggletooth would be epic!! would probably be Walgreen exclusive or Walmart! 😎😎
Interesting. I didn't even know this figure existed!
[Crosses that off the list]
What’s written on your hands?!
Yellow lightsaber 😎.
No, Dan.
Why are YOU so rare and valuable?
Yes do it Hasbro!! 6 inch Hammerhead would ne amazing.
I gotta believe it's going to happen eventually.
What’s written on your palms there Dan
"Alpha Flight" and "Howard tha dick". Watch the previous video for the gag that it pertains to.
I have one, this is good to know
Great video as always.
But it seems you used the same script and footage from the blue snaggletooth review.
It is a mostly recycled piece yes, but with new additions added to it. Think of it as a "Special Edition." We were a much smaller channel when the original was posted. Literally 90% of our audience never saw it.
Are you Ryan Connelly's brother?
I feel like you two are related
hey why are you talking about this today of all days? is he actually in the han Solo movie? 😎😎
YOU’RE too fabulous!
Awsome Video
Thanks!
PANTHERTUSK MUMRAMA
Dan likes Kiss confirmed.
None of the 1970’s cantina creatures were correct as far as clothes go.
I found a Blue Snaggletooth at my local specialty/antique shop. I only paid $18. He's missing some paint but he's got tight joints and in good condition otherwise. That was just last month. I still can't believe it.
