  • This video shows how to make a side dish for rice using raw bananas or plantains. They are comonly used in South Indian cuisine.one is a stir fry with the addition of fresh grated coconut and the other is a crispy banana fry. Both of them can be paired with a mixed rice or Sambar/rasam and rice.
    ingredients
    Raw banana stir fry
    raw bananas 2
    oil 1 tbsp
    mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
    Urad dal 1/4 tsp
    dry red chilli 2
    Hing a pinch
    curry leaves a few
    salt to taste
    Turmeric powder a pinch
    Fresh grated coconut 2-3 Tbsp
    Crispy banana fry
    Raw banana 2
    oil 2 tbsp
    Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
    urad dal 1/4 tsp
    Turmeric powder 1 pinch
    Hing a pinch
    Sambar powder 1 tsp
    Curry leaves a few
    Salt to taste
