- What Lies Beneath is a branching narrative gamebook in which you play an individual who awakens in a dilapidated crypt, your body wracked with a mysterious disease.
Join me as I playthrough this deadly gamebook, that has an interesting and engaging set of mechanics, from designer Chris Scaffidi, with art by Jason Glover.

It is always nice to see changes to a classic style game. I like the choose your own adventures and this one just has a nice twist to it.
For sure, the mechanics in this are simple to pick up, but I do like them.
Thanks for doing this playthrough!
Seems like a interesting adventure with a mystery
It's a fun one!
Those sound interesting. Something to add to my list of games to try.
It's worth checking out, in my humble opinion :)
I considered really hard getting this game. Damn you! (Not really, you're awesome!)
Haha, you should get it 😉

@@martinouellet3540 cool - hope you enjoy it, Martin!
Not sure I like the alternative for DEX checks. It's like passive perception in D&D 5e, but with more math. Also, not sure about the dice flicking either. I think I might just treat DEX checks like combat. Would be easier. Though thinking about it, narratively it makes sense that it would be hard to anything dexterously after waking up like the character did. It even says their legs are weak.
Yeah, with a bit more practice, the dex flicking challenges are growing on me (though I'm not sure I would have them in here, given th choice)!
