- The team reacts to Tony Jaa vs. Lateef Crowder/John Foo/Nathan Jones. Normally, if I've already seen a movie we're reacting to, I'll step away and leave the guys to react alone, and I fully intended to do that for this scene, but then I just sat there and watched it anyway. And I don't regret it at all.

the first ong bak and the protector are still my favorites of his movies. Been a huge fan since 2006 when he was introduced to the states. my father in law is Thai so he got an un dubbed/subtitled version that he and my husband watched before it was released here. It makes me so happy to see him FINALLY getting the recognition he deserves.
Crazy that this movie was over ten years ago, and people are just now finding Jaa.
Actually Jaa didn't do his own fight choreography at that that time. It was Panna Rittikrai, who died not long ago. Amazing fight choreographer.

It doesnt take as long as you think to learn some of those capoeria moves....
It helps to be able to handstand well and to flip helps a lot. I was learning ground moves, and i could one hand split kick(Au Batido). And some Chibata roll/flip kicks. All with just a year of watching "Only The Strong" and a couple vhs tutorials on capoeria.
I always love it when Nathan Jones comes on the big screen go Aussie :).

Earlier in the fight, Tony Jaa was supposed to fight 2 taekwondo guys before the capoeria guy seen in early trailers and promotions but cut out for time length.

random guys past out on the ground was actually supposed to be from a previous fight tony jaa's character was supposed to have fought two guys at the same time then fought lateef crowder's character the fight was cut from both versions of this movie from what i understand
Iv been a fan of the protector for years, you should show them the last fight against the huged guys, the twitching still makes me twitch

tony jaa basically fighting tekken characters!!!! the first guy is obvs eddie the capoiera fighter, then next jon foo actually played Jin Kazama in the live action. and the last guy reminds me of craig marduk. looks just like him.

Shirtless guy's movements are like those of "Eddy" from "Tekken".
He actually played Eddie Gordo in the Tekken movie, which was probably the easiest casting decision anybody's ever made.
