@@mikebee-69 There is a little-known artist called Kanye West who disagrees with you. Not about the Finnish of course, I don't think he knows Finnish, but he seems to see nightmares in his song lyrics as well...
Thank you for your reaction♡ with me, this song needed few listens but now i think its a banger!! The chorus is my fave😍 needed something new for the last part tho...🤔 but still good! As a finn, im sad to see that in the music video, and on insta, the most negative comments are from finns... i find it embarrassing how some express their opinions. I dont mean all people need to like the song, but they dont be mean or a "känkkäränkkä" child about it😄
I was sooo tired last night but I just had to stay up and watch and listen to this first song before I let myself to fall asleep. This is very strong and good start for UMK. If she can sing live with that range of vocals she will be strong contestant. I’m little sad that I can’t be live in the UMK final but will be watching from YleAreena. Hoping for more good songs.
So interesting that you're doing doctoral research on UMK! :) These out-of-the-box themes are always great. Anyway, this was fine as the opening song to be revealed, but is probably not the best song & act in UMK, so eagerly awaiting what else is coming! 🎉And I agree, this just reminds a bit too much Saara Aalto and her ESC song Monsters.
This was the second time I heard the song. I liked it more than the first time, the chorus stuck into my head and I don't mind hearing the song for the third time. Also, I think there's room for the song and performance to grow when going to live show. So definitely more positives than negatives. Also, i think it's good to reset the UMK expectations, which this music video did.
Glad you picked up on the similarities with Saara Aalto. as feels very in line of what she would do espcially for Eurovision as does feel like the evolution of Monsters
This is a good start! But I can also hear some kind of voice manipulation in this. Although I think (or hope) Neea can sing this live. Waiting for more songs! I saw you on TV last night! 🫶
Hello television celebrity. ;-) I was waiting for your reaction. Firstly, I did not know about your research project but sounds like something I could be interested in. I'm through and through a pop culture person, who was raised by British pop networks Sky Channel and Music Box until we got Music Television and from then on I kind of lived in front of the television for way over five years of my youth. But then, about the song. I agree with the strong start, but what bothers me is that the sound is perhaps too typical EDM. It is a hit straight to the face of the Swedes that would like to dominate in this sort of songs and in pop. Even though this song very much reminds me of all kinds of songs from the past, it succeeds in being quite catchy. Disturbingly catchy. And that is kind of a problem for me, when it starts to repeat itself too much in only three mintues. Well. Not sure about how it will be. Need to hear the next songs. 🙂 Next one please. Now.
Hehe yes I did not expect to end up on tv today 😅 this is definitely a very commerical sounding song, but her influences are Britney Spears and Katy Perry so I think that makes sense. Quite different from last year's first song which was cyan kicks.
@@espotpod I did not hear Katy Perry and Britney Spears there. More like 90's eurodance, EDM. I have a playlist on Spotify full of dance tracks that is kind of there, because actually this type of electronic music is very much in my taste. Perhaps it is that when ESC songs are presented I wish to hear something new but end up hearing a lot of clichees and melodies that take me back in time. Last year I think Sini Sabotage represented something I had not really heard. Maybe even Jesse Markin did that. However, Sara Siipola and Windows95Man had lots of clichees, but obviously they can work in competitions like UMK and ESC... Don't be too original or no one will understand you, right?
It was a gift from a friend who works at Yle! Unfortunately I don't think they're available anywhere. But several people at the show were wearing them so at one point they were available.
I could see it in your face you were intrigued by this already in the beginning of the song. 😄👍 And it was funny when I noticed Cookie sleeping there. 😊 I'm not that much into EDM, but I really like this song! Although her styling could be better. Right now it's too much Loreen and Sara Aalto Monsters. We could do something new! But if this went through to Eurovision, I would be very happy! A good contender!Let's see what more is to come.
This type of song is very much my style. Still lots to look forward to tho! And yes cookie was finally being calm during one of my videos and not trying to steal the spotlight like usual 😂
I don't quite understand the comment about English: seems like a very rare problem with Finnish UMK singers. These songs tend to go through several hands and one would think record companies wouldn't release songs in English to UMK from someone who can't sing in English. The same with making lyrics
It doesn't always happen in UMK but it has happened. Lover View by Sansa is an example of what I'm referring to. Mixed metaphors, phrases that don't really make sense. But even with mixed metaphors sometimes native speakers are guilty of that too, however with native speakers it's just lazy songwriting.
Can hear flashback from 2002. Something old, but something fresh. Above average dancetrack, good production and a bit processed with autotune. Probably would not interest this day people enough? So not Finland choice 2025.
Thank you❤❤❤
You didn't learn English? It is "have nightmares" not "see nightmares" like in Finnish

Thank you!! Good luck and enjoy this journey!
Great to see you on TV having such a great time last night! Seemed like quite a party! 🥳💪
Thank you! It was so fun!!

I don't know why people feel the need to be negative like that. If you don't like it, move along and focus on something you do like!
Thank you for this reaction! It's a good start from Umk. Great voice she has.

Excellent start for this years UMK. This is going to be a club banger at least. Can't wait to hear rest of the songs. :)
Neea is really a talent, not only her voice but she is a great music maker.❤. I am proud to Be a Finn. We have great groups and singers here.
Yes she is really good! Contest is going to be fierce!
This is the type of song I love to play in the car and workout to. I love how the song escalates. This is going on my repeat.

Great start for this UMK season.
Her voice is really amazing, rhis song requires a good voice. Saw you had a nice time there last night on tv. :)
It was so fun!!
This is what I want from Finland. Retro aspects while sounding current. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like this song. This is song what i want listen song again and again
Yes I agree! It's a big ear worm.

It's a really strong entry!
If this goes to Eurovision i think it could do really well🔥
This has wibes a little bit of Saara Aalto& Cascada, and I LOOOOVE it ❤

Pretty good song 🎉
Great song
Yes it is!
How can I get this t-shirt? :D

Not my cup of tea, but it's still a nice catchy song, nothing wrong with it, great performance will do wonders for it. A good start!

She's a great singer and the song was good, but I feel it was a bit thirteen in a dozen
We will see how it compares to the others soon. There's a few pop singers so it will be interesting to see how it stacks up!

I liked her voice. The song itself was a bit mid.
A good song, but too much like Saara Aalto and Monsters
It’s great but definitely not the winner
