    LOVE!!!!! I LOVE how you take this highbrow principle and make it approachable, understandable, helpful, (useful, usable, :-P) etc... I'm imagining some of the victorian elitists who I have encountered in our industry overcomplicating every possible thing about this idea if I asked... or like asking to see my HCD master's degree before requesting a blood pact and revealing the ancient secret that is "just use these checklists and think critically about the things you learn". I also did not know about these tools. Thank you!!

      LOVE LOVE LOVE your point, Caitlin! I knooowwww. I've attended some webinars on how to analyze quantitative data by some PhD folks and the feeling I got from them is like "if you don't have a PhD you're not worthy" or "you do this things, then this this this, and this...oh you don't know this already? too bad" and they're just TERRIBLE at teaching.
      So I set out to be as clear, succinct, and non-judgmental as possible cuz we've all been there!! THANK YOU 🙏 😊 🎉

    Doing first project for UX - did user testing but no Heuristics prior to that - this is really going to be useful!

    Hi Kevin! I commented before on your interviewer prep video and didn't get my last UX job (sad face), but i'm on stage 2/2 now for a new UX Research job! Thanks so much for so many helpful videos, I'm brushing up on my knowledge again and ready to take another shot at my Hiring Manager interview next Monday! :) You've got the best UX Researcher channel out here on TH-cam, hands down!

    Hi Kevin, do you know of any Excel or Google spreadsheet that's similar to Susan Weinschenk spreadsheet, but for the more general heuristic eval and not Susan's version?

    • @zerotoux
      @zerotoux  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do not, sorry! but you can apply the same format with just 10 heuristics for NNG's set!
      Or reverse engineer the slide deck where you can either record by task, or record by heuristic

    If I do a usability evaluation using a combination of two evaluation methods, namely Heuristic Evaluation and Cognitive Walkthrough, how do I get the conclusions and recommendations? Should a qualitative analysis be carried out using thematic analysis? Thank You

    hey Kevin! im an Ops person currently trying to break into UX. thank you for this vid this is very helpful! one question i have is how do you determine which set of heuristics you should pick for your evaluation?

    • @zerotoux
      @zerotoux  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Rejean! Great question. I'd look at the set of heuristics, look at your own product and research objectives, and go from there. For example, if your objectives are to evaluate a few usability things, the maybe Nielsen's will do the trick. If you're evaluating rigorously the entire system, use a robust set like Weinschenks.
      You don't have to use every single heuristic if it doesn't apply, and in fact you might want to mix and match some if you find one heuristic to fit better out of the entire set.
      Hope that helps ✌️

    Can I still do a heuristic evaluation on a paper form (ie evaluate a paper intake form)?

    • @zerotoux
      @zerotoux  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can do HE on basically anything. For paper specifically, check out this journal article:
