It's so sad that when they fly away there's nothing we can do. I saw a budgie in a tree near my yard once, i tried my best to get it to come down because i knew it wouldn't survive in a colder climate where i live. It flew away though. Poor little guy
My mother’s budgies love her! They’re always following her around the house and flies on top of her. She takes really good care of them and they give her a lot of comfort and company. She sends me pics and videos of them all of time and says they’re my brothers lol.

As soon as my mum walks in my room when my budgie is out, he immediately flies to my mum and starts biting her necklace and earrings. That’s what my budgie does to me aswell and I whistle to him and he whistles back.
My budgie’s 3 favorite spots to sit on me are my head, my shoulder (specifically my left shoulder), and my toes. He makes little kissing sounds back sometimes when I give him kisses on his beak. He’s a crazy little bird and I absolutely adore him 🥺💙

My 9 month old budgie JoJo chirps all day long, talks non stop. He can say : " jojo good Birdie, jojo good boy. He only likes me though. I raised him maybe that's why.

My cockatiel is bonded to me but is also BFFs with my budgie that is not hand trained. It's incredible how close he has gotten to us. Will stand on our shoulders and arms and heads. Will drink water if I offer it, not food. Will hang out with me while I work or shower. Still can't touch him tough!
Budgies ARE Beautiful little creatures and it's our responsibility to take care of them as best we can. They're very sensitive creatures too. Not so log ago, my health wasn't so well and my two wee Birds came down from their perches and sat on my bed beside me all day. Thanks to all of you folks for making these Videos too. 🐦🐦🐦

I got a budgie yesterday, and he’s a little shy but i spent 3 hours with him today petting him in his cage, giving him treats and getting him used to my hand, and he stepped on my finger and let him sit their for awhile until i knew he was comfortable and i took him out the cage and he’s currently sitting on my shoulder, (because he pooped on my finger)
i keep my budgie cage open most of the time and i keep it near the kitchen and whenever i walk away to go get something my budgie climbs out of the cage and walks to my room and tries to find me (my budgie is tame)
i picked out and bought my 2 new baby babies yesterday....In 2 days ill have the house to myself for 3 weeks so theyre getting dropped to me then so they have a quieter and more peaceful house to acclimate and get used too. Im 24 and after some very hard years i decided to get 2 baby budgies not just to add to my family but so that now i can put all of my loove and effort into the right place. i cannot wait to start this journey and your videos really helped me make a decision. i miss them so much already but in 2 days their new life will start and im going to make certain that their new life is an amazing one filled will love and car and pure happiness. i May be a straight adult male but ill be damned if im not a massive softy inside whos never been more excited than now
I have a Bourke's parakeet, and she does all these things (in a Bourke's sort of way). She will even preen herself on my shoulder. She fluffs on my shoulder or chest as well. Its just her happy place.
Been around budgies long enough to know they all have different personalities. Some are extremely friendly others are extremely cautious and probably can never be tamed since they prefer the company of their own kind.
My cocktail parrot also stare at me for hours. First I felt something wrong like if she wants to say something but after your video now I know thanks for sharing.
I wasn’t sure if my budgies liked me as they often run when I get too close. I can get them to fly over to me if I hold out millet for them though and they do the rest of this. Hell, one of them preens herself when she’s on my hand sometimes. You’ve clarified that it’s because they’re just not super tame so thank you!
I have been trying to tame my budgies for about 8 months now and they still don’t come to my hand but I just noticed that they all stare at me and wag their tail when I enter the room chirp at me and preen without any hesitation near me. Also the beak grinding too. it gave me another boost of confidence to try and tame them. I don’t have access to millet spray in my area btw. The fact that I did this all while not having any help from millet makes me incredibly happy. Still aren’t hand tamed though. Edit : they just started eating from my finger. I just got two budgies 2 days ago and I let them out of the cage the next day. I got Alex to stand on my hand and eat millet multiple times while Oliver is still skeptical of me. They both are still pretty cautious of me but I think they get better by the day. They show most of these sign and just stating chirping and playing today. So happy to try and tame them 😌

My budgie Porthos is still a baby, but does all of these things. I guess I'm on the right path. I kind of have to coax Porthos to start chirping using budgie calls on youtube, but I read they are more quiet as babies to avoid being eaten by predators. Porthos gets super bashful when I tell him how pretty his feathers are or if I say what a good bird he is. I use a giant ass dog kennel for Porthos' home, which I took the front door off of. There is a simple yet complex web of branches and logs in there for him, along with treats and toys. He can come and go as he pleases, and immedietly returns home when I tell him to. It's so adorable, I say "Porthos! Go home!" Then his little bird legs run towards the kennel and he always leaps the last 2 feet away from it. His wings are almost grown back from the petshop, and he knows it. His beats his wings several times a day now, jumping in place to see if he can lift himself off the ground like a harrier jet.
I have two lovely buggies since June 2017 and both doesn’t like to be touched. Eat from my hand, play with me, show all signs of trust but when I want them to perch on my hand they disagree., I could never change that but I learned to live with. They are my angles
I'm currently trying to tame my budgies. The first day they were constantly on guard. The second day they fealt more comfortable and would preen and grind their beaks in my precense. They'd freely come within arms reach. The third day they continue to go about they business even when i'm walking or moving.
Yeah, I fell to the ground when my mom told me😔 I was so sad, but thankfully, we found him, yesterday night! He was very hungry and he kind of seemed freaked out but he’s ok now!
My family has two budgies... the one who I get along with is Casper a white Budgie. He does all of the above except the last one and it's really down to me... I get really itchy and start sneezing if I handel birds and I can't really be around them for too long... that and I'm really afraid of getting pooped on. Idk I love wee Casper even although the rest of the family thinks he's a wee shit sometimes. I grew closer to Casper as I felt sorry for him when he was on his own as other birds passsed away... I talk to him as if he was another human being and I don't interupt him... he get's a tad upset if you don't let him say what he needs to say, but with an appology he understands and is happy again... he likes telling wee storys and when he's very happy he'll do repetitive small jumps on the spot. My family has tried to get him to come to me and fly over, but he'll respectfully not move or fly onto something else instead... whilst I stand thinking... Casper you know me... please don't. Idk if I can ever take the next step, but what I do know is when I'm around he's one happy fluffy talkitive budgie. ; )
Head bobbing at you is another sign. Our blue budgie used to really like me....it would be super happy to see me and would follow me all over the house. I miss it.
Guys I need a little help. Yesterday, somehow randomly my budgie died. I came home and saw her on the floor of the cage, laying on her side, eyes closed, not moving. Cried after that. Hardest part of being a pet parent. I was like “okay, not sure what to do, but Il get a new bird.” Not necessarily a replacement, just because I couldn’t stand having 1 less bird. RIP Tiki. Got over that. Today, the day after tiki died, my birds were happy, playful and chirping. One of the birds, in that cage, loved and I believe was Tiki’s mate. Snow was his name. I came home, through the entrance the birds are in, and I say hi to the birds. I look around, see 3 instead of 4. I look around, hard, hoping he didn’t pass as well, after what happened yesterday I couldn’t trust anything. I look everywhere, and finally I see him. Snow, dead on the floor, not moving, eyes closed and fluffed up. Tikis mate, dead too. Now there’s 3. I have no flippin idea what’s happening, I think they might be diseased but they all were fine for the past year. They were young too, 1 year old. Cried for an hour, cuz I can’t get over some grieving. Someone please help me, I don’t know what to do. I can’t afford vet visits for them. 😢 Sorry this is so long but I am freaking out rn.
Sadly, me and my budgie don't have a really good bond as when my other budgie died, I couldn't bear to even look at the budgie I have now as it just always made me cry but we did still look after him, but now im getting a new budgie aswell on Tuesday and already with the budgie I have, he always does EVERY one of the 5 things!
Maybe try to explain that birds that always caged can get very bored and depressed, I think that it's a must to let the bird roam in the room for a couple of hours every day.
My budgie does everything but the last two. the only reason is because we just got him a little over a week ago, and he's still very skittish. He doesn't chirp unless we have bird sounds playing in the background. He hates being handled right now, but he has flown straight towards my onto my leg, then flown straight back to his cage after a few seconds. He's definitely getting used to me. He allows me to handfeed him as well. :)
Awwwwnnn my budgie loves me!!! He does all this! He sometimes jump at my food 😂😂 and when I scratch his belly he falls asleep 😂😂 and loves to see what we do on our phones so he comes and stares at our phone while standing on it 😂😂 and when I sing he starts to dance! He's so cute 😂😂😂
The white one is similar in color to my baby, except that mine has a bit more blue on the belly area. Mine was not at all tame when I got him but now 5 months later he does all the first four signs and is starting to do the last one when I put my hand in his cage. The last one is new but I am so happy with how bonded he is becomming. Everytime I leave for more than half an hour he gets excited when I get back, and each time I leave the room he calls for me until I say beep beep.
I used to be really afraid my budgie Simon hated me, but one day out of nowhere I noticed her mimic this one whistling noise I do. Two weeks later of whistling to her frequently and now she comes running to the front of the cage when she sees me and chirps for me, she screeches angrily when I leave her field of view if she hasn't had enough singing time until I come back and babytalk to her or whistle some more
The one I had when I was young would immediately come across and cling onto the bars when I came up to his cage, though that was a while after getting him. I almost thought "This is too easy", when after a few weeks of having him, I put my hand in his cage, pressed my finger where his legs met hid body and he stepped on quite the thing. A friend said that the one she had back when she was a kid in Germany would start screeching and going nuts when it heard her coming downstairs in the morning. They are probably the most underrated pets when it comes to their real intelligence, compared to their perceived intelligence (amongst those who have never had one anyway), but I suppose that means that there is probably a wider range of personality types amongst them compared to animals who aren't so bright, so you could just get one by chance who is shy and nervous and will take a lot more work to tame.
I just got a new male budgie and named him Fuji , he does a lot of these things include chirp when i leave the room and grind his beak.Ive had him just under a week and he is starting to step up and preen infront of me .😊
Yes I can totally tell my budgies like me (I am a food and treats giver for them xD) - they clean themselves, sing and stretch wings when I come in "ready to fly and action yes". When it is silent, they usually silent too. But still they are not tamed at all xD if I step too fast towards the cage or put hand into, they get cautious and go to the back side of the cage

I found if your budgie, cockatiel, lovebird, basically most types of the parrot family. If it is weary/cautious of you when you go close and they retreat (this usually due to being born in a avvrey and had very little if any human contact from babies). Try devoting as much time as you can being as close to the bird/s as you can. At first be slow as to not startle to much and just whistle/sing/talk to them. Once you feel the bird/s is more at ease with you being really close. Then maybe try a finger test, just slowly put your finger in the cage and approach the bird with your finger out as if your going to stroke it's chest. Birds don't like their chests being touched so they will step up onto your finger. If the bird retreats from your finger, no worries. Maybe try the same tactic but with a spare pirch instead of your finger. If the bird/s still retreats, just keep being close to them as much as possible. Don't go in with constant finger tests all the time as you don't want to loose any trust you may have gained. Try once a week, twice max. Once the bird/s is standing on your finger, that's where the fun starts with training 😊 But with some stubborn birds, once you feel they are more comfortable with you being close. I find singing and dancing right next to them every day helps. It helps them get use to you moving about quicker around them, plus it gives them some entertainment which is never a bad thing. Also bare in mind some birds can be sexest, no joke! Some female birds will only take to male humans and visa versa. Just depends on the personality of your bird/s. Also on another note, if you have a pair of birds. It can be much harder to gain their trust when they already have each other. A single bird by itself is always easier to tame than a pair together but with enough patience you can get there. It can take some bird owners years before they gain their bird/s trust so just be patient and go at your bird/s pace.
Luckily I went to the pet shop yesterday and found a budgie's chick and I already tamed him he is super cute can someone reccomend a name (Male)

There is a simple yet complex web of branches and logs in there for him, along with treats and toys.
He can come and go as he pleases, and immedietly returns home when I tell him to.
It's so adorable, I say "Porthos! Go home!" Then his little bird legs run towards the kennel and he always leaps the last 2 feet away from it.
His wings are almost grown back from the petshop, and he knows it.
His beats his wings several times a day now, jumping in place to see if he can lift himself off the ground like a harrier jet.
I have a cocktail and he is following me everwhere 😂 but like everwhere lol.

I have two lovely buggies since June 2017 and both doesn’t like to be touched. Eat from my hand, play with me, show all signs of trust but when I want them to perch on my hand they disagree., I could never change that but I learned to live with. They are my angles

I'm currently trying to tame my budgies.
The first day they were constantly on guard.
The second day they fealt more comfortable and would preen and grind their beaks in my precense. They'd freely come within arms reach.
The third day they continue to go about they business even when i'm walking or moving.

My family has two budgies... the one who I get along with is Casper a white Budgie. He does all of the above except the last one and it's really down to me... I get really itchy and start sneezing if I handel birds and I can't really be around them for too long... that and I'm really afraid of getting pooped on. Idk I love wee Casper even although the rest of the family thinks he's a wee shit sometimes. I grew closer to Casper as I felt sorry for him when he was on his own as other birds passsed away... I talk to him as if he was another human being and I don't interupt him... he get's a tad upset if you don't let him say what he needs to say, but with an appology he understands and is happy again... he likes telling wee storys and when he's very happy he'll do repetitive small jumps on the spot. My family has tried to get him to come to me and fly over, but he'll respectfully not move or fly onto something else instead... whilst I stand thinking... Casper you know me... please don't. Idk if I can ever take the next step, but what I do know is when I'm around he's one happy fluffy talkitive budgie. ; )

Guys I need a little help. Yesterday, somehow randomly my budgie died. I came home and saw her on the floor of the cage, laying on her side, eyes closed, not moving. Cried after that. Hardest part of being a pet parent. I was like “okay, not sure what to do, but Il get a new bird.” Not necessarily a replacement, just because I couldn’t stand having 1 less bird. RIP Tiki.
Got over that. Today, the day after tiki died, my birds were happy, playful and chirping. One of the birds, in that cage, loved and I believe was Tiki’s mate. Snow was his name. I came home, through the entrance the birds are in, and I say hi to the birds. I look around, see 3 instead of 4. I look around, hard, hoping he didn’t pass as well, after what happened yesterday I couldn’t trust anything. I look everywhere, and finally I see him. Snow, dead on the floor, not moving, eyes closed and fluffed up. Tikis mate, dead too. Now there’s 3. I have no flippin idea what’s happening, I think they might be diseased but they all were fine for the past year. They were young too, 1 year old. Cried for an hour, cuz I can’t get over some grieving. Someone please help me, I don’t know what to do. I can’t afford vet visits for them. 😢

Sadly, me and my budgie don't have a really good bond as when my other budgie died, I couldn't bear to even look at the budgie I have now as it just always made me cry but we did still look after him, but now im getting a new budgie aswell on Tuesday and already with the budgie I have, he always does EVERY one of the 5 things!

Maybe try to explain that birds that always caged can get very bored and depressed, I think that it's a must to let the bird roam in the room for a couple of hours every day.
Why would your parents let you get birds if you can’t let them out :( Try to explain to them that it’s very important to let budgies out.
My budgie does everything but the last two. the only reason is because we just got him a little over a week ago, and he's still very skittish. He doesn't chirp unless we have bird sounds playing in the background. He hates being handled right now, but he has flown straight towards my onto my leg, then flown straight back to his cage after a few seconds. He's definitely getting used to me. He allows me to handfeed him as well. :)

Awwwwnnn my budgie loves me!!! He does all this! He sometimes jump at my food 😂😂 and when I scratch his belly he falls asleep 😂😂 and loves to see what we do on our phones so he comes and stares at our phone while standing on it 😂😂 and when I sing he starts to dance! He's so cute 😂😂😂
The white one is similar in color to my baby, except that mine has a bit more blue on the belly area. Mine was not at all tame when I got him but now 5 months later he does all the first four signs and is starting to do the last one when I put my hand in his cage. The last one is new but I am so happy with how bonded he is becomming. Everytime I leave for more than half an hour he gets excited when I get back, and each time I leave the room he calls for me until I say beep beep.

I used to be really afraid my budgie Simon hated me, but one day out of nowhere I noticed her mimic this one whistling noise I do. Two weeks later of whistling to her frequently and now she comes running to the front of the cage when she sees me and chirps for me, she screeches angrily when I leave her field of view if she hasn't had enough singing time until I come back and babytalk to her or whistle some more
The one I had when I was young would immediately come across and cling onto the bars when I came up to his cage, though that was a while after getting him. I almost thought "This is too easy", when after a few weeks of having him, I put my hand in his cage, pressed my finger where his legs met hid body and he stepped on quite the thing. A friend said that the one she had back when she was a kid in Germany would start screeching and going nuts when it heard her coming downstairs in the morning. They are probably the most underrated pets when it comes to their real intelligence, compared to their perceived intelligence (amongst those who have never had one anyway), but I suppose that means that there is probably a wider range of personality types amongst them compared to animals who aren't so bright, so you could just get one by chance who is shy and nervous and will take a lot more work to tame.
I just got a new male budgie and named him Fuji , he does a lot of these things include chirp when i leave the room and grind his beak.Ive had him just under a week and he is starting to step up and preen infront of me .😊
Yes I can totally tell my budgies like me (I am a food and treats giver for them xD) - they clean themselves, sing and stretch wings when I come in "ready to fly and action yes". When it is silent, they usually silent too.
But still they are not tamed at all xD if I step too fast towards the cage or put hand into, they get cautious and go to the back side of the cage

I found if your budgie, cockatiel, lovebird, basically most types of the parrot family. If it is weary/cautious of you when you go close and they retreat (this usually due to being born in a avvrey and had very little if any human contact from babies).
Try devoting as much time as you can being as close to the bird/s as you can. At first be slow as to not startle to much and just whistle/sing/talk to them. Once you feel the bird/s is more at ease with you being really close. Then maybe try a finger test, just slowly put your finger in the cage and approach the bird with your finger out as if your going to stroke it's chest. Birds don't like their chests being touched so they will step up onto your finger.
If the bird retreats from your finger, no worries. Maybe try the same tactic but with a spare pirch instead of your finger. If the bird/s still retreats, just keep being close to them as much as possible. Don't go in with constant finger tests all the time as you don't want to loose any trust you may have gained. Try once a week, twice max.
Once the bird/s is standing on your finger, that's where the fun starts with training 😊
But with some stubborn birds, once you feel they are more comfortable with you being close. I find singing and dancing right next to them every day helps. It helps them get use to you moving about quicker around them, plus it gives them some entertainment which is never a bad thing.
Also bare in mind some birds can be sexest, no joke!
Some female birds will only take to male humans and visa versa. Just depends on the personality of your bird/s.
Also on another note, if you have a pair of birds. It can be much harder to gain their trust when they already have each other. A single bird by itself is always easier to tame than a pair together but with enough patience you can get there. It can take some bird owners years before they gain their bird/s trust so just be patient and go at your bird/s pace.
