      That's the thing stupid sponsor and people with money don't see that poor people like us suffer for that shit. Not being able to pay a fee that we can't cause we're striving. But it's all G those that read mark my words I'll be the first to make a foundation like this funny how greed/money changes a person aspect towards things they see and blind themselves

    Jeff is a very good boxer. His pro career may not have lived up to the mayweather name. But his actual ability was very good. But he didn't have much power. He had the speed, the defense, the footwork, but he didn't have the power so he couldn't get very far. But in terms of technical boxing. He was fantastic.

    I'm no boxer, but i've had a few lessons. I was once taught a jab where you turned your fist over completely, almost to the point where the knuckles of of your fore finger and index finger were actually pointing down to the ground. sounds crazy but within about ten minutes i was hitting harder than i ever thought possible. it was amazing.

      And that twist at the very end of the jab (where it pops) will slice up someone's face up real nice like. Stinging sweat in the eyes is one thing, but blood is as good as a blindfold.

    He forgot to mention how to make it less of an arm punch. How much ass do you put into it and how to do that without slowing yourself down. They didn't mention distance or using the jab as a way to figure out distance etc. I clicked on this thinking Jeff would go a little more into it. :(

      I learned a tip from Bruce Lee.. he would watch Ray Robinson and Ali through a mirror to see how they fight as southpaws.. Bruce was right handed and believed in having his strong hand as his lead like most right handed southpaws.. I did the reverse and watched southpaws to how they would fight right handed.. and observed guys like Pacquiao, Winky Wright..Pernell Whitaker and Marvelous Marvin.. helped me out alot =)

    Zero mention of the single most critical part of the jab... FOOTWORK!!

    • @killercroc4733
      @killercroc4733 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Earthly Wanderer some coaches teach different from one another, thats why there are so many styles and great athletes in the boxing industry.

    • @thefortressishere
      @thefortressishere 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@killercroc4733 I appreciate that, but footwork is critical to any style. Especially anyone learning must know about footwork as it's the single most important part of the formula in order for a jab or any other strikes and without that key ingredient it won't ever be quite right.

    • @killercroc4733
      @killercroc4733 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Earthly Wanderer yeah but what I really meant was that most gyms focus to much on just striking and less footwork. Im not an expert or anything but my guess is that its best to work on one portion of boxing (beginners) to get them comfortable with that part then to just say ok move your feet in between or as you strikes, it would be a mess for a new comer to combine both striking and footwork, would recommend footwork first because its the most important aspect in boxing and thats a fact. Im a striker myself (not a boxer) and sometimes forget all about correct foot placement but still manage to do ok. Still need some work through.

    • @thefortressishere
      @thefortressishere 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@killercroc4733 The best way to learn is by combining the hands and feet together from the very beginning. Otherwise you become accustomed to using only hands, or the footwork. It's absolutely crucial to learn both together. This is a common mistake most trainers fail on.

    • @killercroc4733
      @killercroc4733 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Earthly Wanderer yes this is true, the way I learned was footwork first, giving good explanations as to why we need it, the importance of pivoting, and learning how to cut angles. To me your feet is most important do to the fact that it makes up for your defense and offense striking comes last and once you've gotten a bit better with your feet then its time to work the hands. Like I said earlier I focus a bit more on my striking then working on whats most needed, im a muay thai practitioner and if you didn't know already muay thai's footwork is pretty basic as in your just walking back, forward, and side to side. Sometimes you have to take another route to get better even if it's not the right way of doing it.

  • @unclerobertboxing
    @unclerobertboxing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The guy in the white shirt is not fully extending his jab and not turning it over..youre not allowing him to do that as well..you are bringing the punch mitt so close to him to hit..not realistic his opponent is not going to be So easy to land that punch on

  • @Wise_guy007
    @Wise_guy007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For the standard jab, he has a bad tell. He’s dropping his hand ever so slightly before he lets it go. Nice power but an experienced boxer will catch that and throw a counter right over his jab.

    • @markp.8329
      @markp.8329 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, exactly. He could work on disguising his movement by keeping his hands moving. Then that tell would just be part of his overall movement.

  • @myrusEW
