The Kenworth Rollback is Getting Put to Work Today!

- @MerlinsOldSchoolGarage , @jetskijim007, Brad and William are on a mission today to get all the projects done that they have been putting off. Merlin doesn't get the Kenworth rollback truck out often but he puts it to work on three big tow jobs!

It always makes me shake my head the things that get scrapped and crushed down there.. everything in that scrap yard looks rust free, half of its in better shape than the vehicles in my driveway 😅

The first truck I drove was a 1975 F250 2wd in midnight blue. It had 8 ply tires on 16.5 split rims. It was my dad's "new" truck for his business.. I was probably 11 the first time I got to move it around the lot (surprising he let me do anything with a 1 year old truck). I ended up owning it when he passed away. Unfortunately, here in the "rust belt" of Illinois, we can't keep the old stuff on the road very easily. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Great video Merlin. That red Ford pickup reminded me of my new 77 3/4 ton 4x4 highboy that I bought, black, white pinstripes, 12.00x16.5 Jackman wheels, 300 six cylinder, with 4 speed. That was the best pickup that I ever owned, a real pickup. You really brought back some good memories. Thanks.
I'd love to have a fixed up high boy, One of my favorite trucks for sure.
We are super big fans of Ford High Boys here in Michigan. I have owned several through the years but salted roads and snow drifts galore have decimated all of them, can't wait to see what you do with that gem!

If you think you`re tough, then go volunteer at the ranch down there in the summer! I`m sure there is more than enough work fixing fence or rounding up cows thru all the cacti. Easy enough? OK now add 110 degree heat to the mix. Rugged is only the beginning and that was just the scenery. Great story!😲

I had a 1976 High Boy 360/4.10 gear with a 4 spd. tranny. I loved that truck, and boy do I mean a truck. She rode like a tank and had manual locking hubs. Mine was dark green also, had to sell her for a home down payment . Man do I miss her.
God Bless the Man that saves a 1970's era F series Ford pickup. Good on ya brother. Loved the National Anthem at the end also. They play it every night at 1700 where I work. Never get tired of hearing that one.

At 13:09, we have that Devil's Walking Stick stuff out here in Maryland, of all places. Man, I hate that stuff. Big sticks like that aren't so bad, as long as you avoid them, but the young plants with willow-like branches all over the place are no joke, and hard to avoid, once they get going.
40 years ago, on the 3rd of July, I borrowed that green truck to chase a girl up on Cedar Mountain. It was a great truck.

That’s an awesome dozer.
Merlin first time that I have seen the more conventional style tractor with tracks. Now a lot of the modern farm equipment are built with tracks but I don't recall older machines with tracks. Mind you my exposure to tractors are from a Mom and pop operation. My grandfather Currin raised tobacco back in the 30s-through the mid 50s. Then my Uncle Ervin took over the operation from mid 1950s until he died in 1973. There operation was in the Sandhills of North Carolina.
Do a search for Oliver Cletrac, that was an old farm tractor with tracks. My grandfather had one.
@@jaredf5828 Thank you. There are so many tractor manufactures just in the US and even more world wide. I became more aware of that over the last few years. I couldn't tell you what brand name of tractor my relatives had. Thanks to you I have learned a new one!
Well I am dumbfounded. I just looked up in Wiki images and there are 100's of models I wonder if they were a regional tractor company? Growing up I knew about John Deere.
I don't know a lot about Oliver, I think they were out of Ohio. They made wheeled tractors also. I am not sure how wide their dealer network was. My grandfather was a dairy farmer. He also had several Farmall tractors. They were more common than the Olivers.
I rebuilt one of those forest service trucks. It was white at the time. It it was forest service green under the rattle can paint. Wish I still had it. Made a 390 out of a 360.

Yeah I had a 76 F150 with a 460 and AT. It had 2 problems. 1) I couldn't keep tires on it! 2) It would pass everything except a gas station! LOL
