I've been playing for 3 years and these videos have definitely helped me kickstart a lot of good habits and technical improvements alongside my usual guitar lessons. I can't write for shit, but goddamn can I noodle.
Don't feel bad, I'm the same way. I never bothered with technique when I was younger (TH-cam wasn't really a resource yet). I basically just tried to read tabs. Last 10 years or so I've played a few hours a year at most. Just now trying to get into it again, somewhat seriously.
@@BatteryAcidEater Man I feel you! Same here. I just could never click with playing fast solos, I couldn't "hear" the notes the tabs said to play. And if even if I did I just cant get my fingers to move fast enough. So i hit the rhythm guitarist wall 10 years ago and been stuck there ever since.
This is so sweet! I'm glad that you have grown your passion so much over the years, I only hope I can do the same in my own way as a visual artist with only 6 or 7 years going so far.
I've only played bass guitar for 16 years and it's only until 4 years ago that I started making my own bass lines. (granted 90 percent of them were based on emotions like spite, depression and anger but we all gotta start somewhere.)
it's been five years since i got my first guitar and about three years since i got serious. i'm taking music classes next semester so that should really skyrocket my knowledge on music.
It's hard to find video like this if you're older than a certain stage, the technology to do record it and then edit it into something cohesive just didn't exist. I worked in skydiving as a camera flyer. I have housands of hours of free fall and base jumping videos, and hundreds of pictures…all on rolls 35mm film and video cassettes. I literally went out of the plane with a Nippon 35mm camera mounted at the top, and a Sony Handicam on the right side of my helmet. Looking back I don't know how I didn't break my neck on some of those hard openings 😳. I know I should get them digitized, but there are SO many of them, and 90% of the video cassettes have titles. Most of it is the idea of having to go through them to find which ones are worth it or not. But I digress. Anyway, finding some ancient one of the three or four videos I made playing in 1995 would be like looking for a needle in a needle stack. Little everything having to do with guitar is so much easier now.
Been playing for 20 years as well. Never been a shredder, more of a blues/rock guy and a singer. You are impressive sir. I'll never play like you, but that's ok
Your playing in the first clip was better than I am now after 34 years! Get The Funk Out was what inspired me to start playing, and you nailed that years before me (I know the notes, but don't have the speed or accuracy). Awesome journey though dude, a real inspiration. On a side note (ish), was that an N2 I spied in there, around 2014?
Oh do you have a full video of that take of the Esperanto solo? Great to see you play Shawn Lane and Allan Holdsworth! The only one I could find was in the Underrated Solos Part 2 video :)
I play for almost a year and I kill some thrash riffs. Megadeth, Metallica, Exodus. Hammerhead by Flotsam and Jetsam. The Sentinel by Judas. Some King Diamond and Mercyful Fate. And few others. And I know how to play Were Not Gonna Take It solo 😂😂😂 I wish I will get better at this. Cuz its a lot of fun
I bought my first guitar 11 months ago, a Jackson JDR Plus made in Japan in the late 90s. I get a little frustrated, I don't always study every day, I'm watching your video of Mr Crowley's solo and I'm almost able to play the first part of the solo, I feel like I need to dedicate myself more, train with a metronome... I think people today Nowadays there is less patience due to the dynamism of social networks and computers, where everything is fast and instantaneous, but I will have more patience. I'm 26 years old
Hey bradley keep up with what you are doing it's really inspiring. I had a question for example you are playing a lead line, melody or solo 1) do you hear in ontervals 2) you hear and thenknow where are all the intervals 3 when playing solo do you prallely think that bend from b5 to 7 and then this lick then 4 and 5 hammer on If yes then what should I do to achieve same level
Ahhh yes, Bradley Hall, or is it now Beanley Hallsworth? Getting older without growing up, to such a degree that he wears a monocle whilst getting mononucleosis
Just seen vid in feed. Dust pan n brushes taped to you 😂😂😂 you always make me laugh. Very impressive bean boy! I first picked up a guitar in 96 im still struggeling w/ arthritis in my hands, im ok with it. Theres still need to pick it up though everytime I see one somewhere 😂
I really like your 2010 improvisation ... Keep at it and good luck what I like about it was the beautiful appregio approaches (tapping) along with the chromatic blues scale that you used and I think that would work great with then some major scale voicings and bends and you will have a very full solo that was very nice. Although just a troll you ... I think it would have been better if you had ended it with some Metallica
I've been playing since about 2002, the real question is how do I go about making a living doing this shit I don't know anyone else who plays since my high school friends and I moved to different places and I don't have time to record shit at home by myself
Bradley, I recently asked Teemu if Tornado of Souls was a harder solo than Winter Madness. He said it was because of all the subtleties and how famous it is. Which one did you find harder to learn?
You're not a noob 🤣you're master of the noobs xD But still I can barely play riff to Psycho by Muse, so... 😅 You're amazing, Brad! And holy sh... 2006 was 18 years ago? 🤯 I feel old...
How long have you guys been playing for??
8 years as of recently, excellent job on the TOS solo vid, very informative
6 years but i play at a 1 year skill level😭
3 :D
1 year and a half prolly
I've been playing for 3 years and these videos have definitely helped me kickstart a lot of good habits and technical improvements alongside my usual guitar lessons. I can't write for shit, but goddamn can I noodle.
2006: Noob; 2024: Advanced Noob
2024: Final peak before self destruction

Beanley has been shredding for longer than Ive been alive
How old are you son?

Wait until you get to the F chord
Wait until u reach add9
Not gonna lie... Your talent has grown exponentially since day one. To boot, you've stayed humble. You have a loyal subscriber here, my friend.
You are probably one of the best guitar players in the world! Amazing progression, commitment and technique!
I'm just shy of 20 years, and you were doing things in 2006 that I can't even do today. 😂
Don't feel bad, I'm the same way.

Nailing those solos 3 years in?! IM THE LAZIEST GUITARISR EVER
Real, I’ve been playing every single day for 3 years and I was as good as him
I've been playing for 4 years and i cant do a single solo (i use the excuse that im a rythm guitarist)

He was very far from nailing those solos lol the first one he nailed was in 2015
The last one though, just mind blowing. Godlike 🔥
its from the new updated live version.
Dude. We've been playing for exactly the same 20 years and we started at the same time. And I'm old as you. Respect. Cheers from Argentina.
Unrelated but loved seeing the tattoos grow over the years too, like they’re a marker of progress in your journey ☺️

That Ibanez practice amp brought back some memories.

Haha dude! I loved that Trivium solo back then. Also, great journey!
Bro was playing Marty Friedman solos note for note after playing for only a few years.
Def weren't note for note!
That "Steamed Ham" sleeveless shirt... an old favorite!

Your playing in 2006 was really really good for 3-4 years of playing.
7 years. And I've accepted my fingers can't move faster than 16th notes at 150 bpm. So now I just sit around and jam a lot.
Lmao, that edgy pentagram pendant in the first clip
Whats the problem with that
I've been playing guitar for 17 years now. Started at 16. I'm still not good, but i try badly 😂

You truly need to bring back the rapscallion looking goatee. It just ads that slightly dangerous and possibly mentally deranged edge to your playing.
2015 was clean as fuck
