1924 means 19 Tonnes max weight and 240 horsepower EDIT: that's why it says 2624 on the cabin. The cabin is from a truck with 3 axles that is allowed to weight 26 Tonnes.
Mercedes-Benz Schwerer Kurzhauber 2624 are from 1963+ and newer original Engine: OM 355 177 kW (240 PS) bei 2.200/min 84 mkp (824 Nm) bei 1.400/min load max 26 tons, but could be that only the 2628 was made for 26 tons.
The short nose caused the engine to fit tight and almost enter the cabin. the noise and heat of the engine bothering the driver. Not sure why Mercedes engineers design it this way!
