@@aidandevine5572 Right! Some ppl take everything outta context smh. I didn't make my comment for the sake of debate. All I'm saying is ....TO ME...he's the best. No one should even actually care about my statement because once I label it "to me" that automatically means no one else's opinion matters 😂

@@andreswaringer1476 Andre, I agree completely. Hadrien is the best bassist in the world; he has the facility to immediately play anything he can conceive of without the need to fall back on existing shapes or scales. His lines are unpredictable, constructed like mathematical equations, and his tone is really punchy and articulate.

Seeing Hadrien play his Burner in this video (th-cam.com/video/bzufYjV0gJE/w-d-xo.html) was the inspiration to me to seek out my own. I eventually ended up finding a 1991 5-string Burner Custom (5-piece maple/walnut neck, quilted maple body wings) on Talkbass which had been converted to a fretless. I imported it to the UK, had it refretted, and even though Ken himself told me it wouldn't be worth the bother, later had the fretboard replaced as during its fretless life too much of the original board had been sanded away to handle frets. I figured it was my duty to help this instrument live on, so I had a luthier replace the board like for like, even down to reusing the front dots from the original board.
Its currently sat on a stand at the side of my desk for easy reach, plays like a dream, and nails HF's tone every time. I just wish I could play it like him!
