  • Today's vlog is a huge deal to me. Today I am opening up and sharing something that impacts every second of my life but I never share or talk about it.
I want this vlog to reach people who may be experiencing similar issues or struggles so that they know it's ok. I also want people to understand a little better.
It was incredibly hard to share this with you so I hope it comes across how I wanted it too!
More information and resources about Sacral Agenesis can be found at www.isacra.org

I'm so proud of you for talking about this! I've only been catheterised once and that was when I had some issues that stopped me being able to self drain my bladder and I'd gone 22 hours without peeing. I think they drain 2 litres. I remember it being uncomfortable but the absolute relief of finally being able to pee was worth it.
It's not the same but I get incontinence during seizures sometimes and that can be really embarrassing. People don't understand and my way of dealing with it tends to be brushing it off with humour.
Thank you for sharing your story with us 💕 xx

Thank you so much, i’ve been dealing with bladder and bowel issues from a neurological disease for the past ten years. you have helped me more than all the specialists I have seen, thanks again.. I talk to friends about most of the problems , but i too keep it quiet... as for stuff!!! yes when it gets delivered a d my husband says what’s that, my reply is “my stuff” 🙄. I think there are more of us than we realise . Best of luck with everything .

Hello! Thank you for posting this! I also have sacral agenesis and it seems we had the same surgery or something very similar. My bladder is augmented from my bowel as well and I also have to self catheterize. I was actually thinking of doing a similar video so I decided to see if other people have posted one and that’s how I got here! It’s been obviously something I’ve dealt with my whole life and I have never met or seen someone else who has the same thing I do. So, thank you for making this video. It makes it all a little less lonely ❤️

Hello! Thank you so much for watching. You absolutely should do a video - I think it all helps to reduce the stigma and fear around it! Please let me know if you do make a video - I’d love to watch it x

Hun, don't worry if people thing you need a poo. We all need to pee and poo, and so what if they think you're hogging the loo? I'm American, so perhaps I care less? Us brash Americans. But I self cath. I also manually evacuate my bowels. Tomorrow I have a Urodynamics study, but I have already had 3 Botox procedures and diatentions. I too have PTSD from medical neglect and narcissism. It IS incredibly hard living with conditions like this. Hope you can give yourself the credit you are truly due. By the way, I call my bag in which I store my catheters, lube, gloves, etc etc my OSK, which my caregiver and I know means my "Oh Shit! Kit" (again, we can blame it on me being American I guess, but the humor helps me cope). I sometimes wonder what the women in neighboring stalls think. Lol. For example, my caregiver is facing me to help me with my wheelchair, cathing, and bowel evacuation... So I wonder what people think when they see her feet facing me sitting on the toilet. Lol. But, hey, it doesn't matter. They can ask and I'll gently and gladly teach them a little. They can also just wonder and continue wondering for eternity. Lol. I don't think less of you for knowing these things about you; in fact, I think more, brave lady. I wish my bladder and kidneys weren't destroying my life. Hugs. You did a good job. By the way, I bring Journey (my stuffed animal dog) with me when I'm really stressed and my bag for hospital and procedures has the same stuff in it (plus all my feeding tube and spinal cord stimulator and much etc) stuff in it. I look like I'm planning a trip to Mars when I go to the hospital. Good job.
