Those portable ACs have one huge issue. The hot air they blow outside is drawn from inside the room, which means, that they basically create negative air pressure, that constantly draws in warm air from outside through every crevice. You can actually get ones with two hoses that work a lot better. Or with an extra hose, some cardboard, some duct tape and some creativity, you can mod this one. If you then insulate the hoses (wrapping them in a blanket already does a lot), you get a pretty good AC on the cheap. Love your style of videos, btw!
@@janniss6401 very true. I love the idea of a DIY mod to make it better. I got this for cheap it was hard to really say no to. But the long-term plan is to get something along the lines of split air. Right now though I'm very impressed with how well this little thing cools!
I vote to sell the S6 and take profits. You did a great job getting that car running. Sell it and roll the money into future projects and gear. Just an idea.

New lights are a good move. There something very nostalgic about the old ones though. Seemed the perfect balance for your style. They look great though.
The rad thing is I can get that same look by changing the white balance on my camera. But I am also keeping the bulbs because I like the charm they had! Thank you for the support!

Cant wait for a legit split system. I went ahead and bought a exhaust tube insulation kit and it actually made a big difference for now
Feeling the same way, Man. My garage is a mess after having to swap lock carriers on my Allroad. I’ve got 3 Allroads, which are always in some form of need, with one still engineless, and the parts and clutter is driving me mad. Time to take a step back, organize, and reset.
I for one am very jealous... I have to wrench on the floor outside. Better than nothing but a workshop is certainly something I need. Great work man. 🙂

I hope there is a solution to the line offset on the sides.. it seems to mee that it is caused by de-accelleration as it gets worse if feedrate increases. This would be an easy software fix I expext
@@anderschristensen8297 haha depends which one 😂 The S4 is waiting on big turbos to be back in stock. The S6 is going to get a suspension refresh and for the TT I am trying to source another 1.8t to build outside the car to swap in. That way I can still drive the car while building the engine
Strip insulation on the window adapter, insulation on the blower line, and that'll be vastly more efficient just by itself, to say nothing of new strip molding on the doors. I know you're just moving the issue somewhere else, but it still goes a long way to improving the output of that little AC. Also, consider joining your local Buy Nothing group. These ACs are being given away regularly.

@@HunterDirection Oh for sure! You've done a fantastic job already and I really do love the idea you had with it trying to keep its spirit as an old wood shop. One more thought I had - if you want to alleviate some of the feeling of darkness in the ceiling space with the lights you have casting down, you could try installing some low intensity LED strips on top of the beams. A good diffuser on them will give you some light cast upwards and alleviate some of the oppressiveness of the downcast light.
If your wanting a cheap toolbox, take a look at the harbor freight U.S general series. Pretty sturdy for what they are, and cheap also. Can get a 52" or so box for $500 or so

I use a very similar model and it cools my entire house, works very well and the electric bill isn’t super expensive.
@@HunterDirectionI put a hose on the drain on the back going to a bigger tank so it does have to be emptied as often.

Haha yeah these are the 4s. I loved my older ones but the case stopped storing a charge so they only lasted a couple hours max
