It's kinda silly calling the best in world "elite", which implies membership of an elite group. But there is no one else there, so elite is an inadequate word.
He is not. Look at his head space to the Bar. Guinness World records is for weak people that want to appear strong to world and a lot small minded people get fooled by this. This is very poor pullups
yep, most find it way harder strength wise, but if you are strong enough and doing it under a time restraint you would be an idiot not to do it in the most efficient manner.
35 pull ups is up there with tier 1 and VERY hard to do and most special force military members need to do them.. 45+ is ELITE level and 50+ if 0.0001% but this 68 is crazy
This is not a pull up man. Great physical activity but a pull up is considered and exercise with hands kept the size of shoulders and going down full motion and raising the head on top of the bar. Shame on the one who writes it on Wikipedia to call it world record. This is not a world record. Again, you are healthy and fit but that's it.
questions: 1. Does Guinness have any regulation at all on grip width? Yes/No 2. Is the chin camera mandatory and played back in slo-mo to determine if it qualifies? Yes/No 3. Do they check the integrity of the bar- is it made from an inflexible material such as steel, not fiberglass that may give a bit of bend or give at bottom catapulting athlete upwards? Yes/No 4. is there any regulation regarding the use of a dowel in your hand or any sticky substance (other than chalk) that may provide additional grip on bar? Yes/No Just curious. I think recordhodlers does have some additional restrictions in place that make it a bit more official and provide integrity of the record attempt.
See full explanation of the GWR standard at the beginning of the video. Everyone has their own definition of "strict" but the GWR rules are clear, and many of the world's best bar athletes have tried for the record by those standards.

Yes..his elbows are not extended in almost all the reps.... Obviously is a strong guy, but those are not even good pullups. What is the point of doing a lot of "bad" pullups? Hi is balancing, his chin is not passing the bar. Some years ago I used to do 14-15 strict pull ups. Hands at the same level of shoulders, bar to the clavicula, and head always looking to the front. And you have to stop when you are dow. So no body bounce. Guiness world record should set a fix width, not count bounced reps, not count not extended elbows....

Hi adam. Do you arch your back at the start of the pull up to generate momentum? Or you do a strict vertical motion? It's just that I dont know which form is easier. It seems that if you arch your back you can generate more force with your lats, but on the other hand it seems that if you do a strict vertical pull up you shorten the range of motion. Which form you recomend to do more pull ups?
The arch helps engage the lats, just as you say, and that's the biggest factor! The path to the bar is still pretty straight. the key is to position right beneath it.
Jimmy Chafins 0 seconds ago He starts swinging around 50…I guess this is legal..? Looks like kipping to me…still impressive as hell but if those last 15 count might as well do all of them that way and get even more
@@Nobody-Nowhere Underhand targets the biceps more. Overhand are more difficult for narrow grip, as the involvement of the biceps in chinups distributes the load among more muscles. People going for records use a wider grip so they don't have to travel as far, but wide grip chinups don't work because of the way the shoulders turn. Some people definitely take chin ups seriously, especially body builders and people that want a nice peak on the biceps.
It's great work. You were doing amazing until you started kipping, which doesn't take away from the fact that what you did was great, but you know better bro... You do. That's why your initial form didn't include kipping. I'm sure you could dig deep and get just about the same number without kipping at the end.
