That was my first year as a volunteer firefighter on a fire boat. Now, 30 years later I'm still a volunteer but now in the control tower on Fiesta Island.
I used to be an EMT rescue diver with San Diego Water Rescue. I always did these races. Good memories.
That's awesome guys. Do you remember a Budweiser boat crash. Well a flip backwards some time back then and the driver was parallelized? Last name Sutton I believe. Was my childhood friends dad. Met him and seen his boat accident pics.

Yes. 1990 was the last year that Jim drove. After spending eight great years with the Miss Budweiser, he moved over to the Winston Eagle for his final season. Wonderful man. He even came to our hydroplane club's banquet in Detroit in 1991.
